I love this place there is nothing that disappointed me. I love it. Need more hotels to follow there stuff . Customer service rocked, food rocked, everything rocked. I was most surprise with the breakfast just because it tasted like it was make with care.

They had construction going on during our stay and so there was some clutter sitting around. The hallways were very warm. The room was hard to adjust the ac unit to be consistent throughout the 2-bedroom unit.

We often stay at Homewood and Embassy Suites when traveling. They are clean usually and have good amenities. This trip with grandkids was not so enjoyable. We stayed one night at Embassy in Lubbock but the pool was not water we wanted to swim in (grandkids were disappointed) so we booked at this Homewood on our travel back through Lubbock. The pool was not open at the Homewood and this was not reported when booking room.We had trouble with keys not working - multiple times - the phone did not work in one room - the bed was broken and flipped when you sat on it. We reported the problems and they gave us another room. We packed up stuff and took to new room and key would not work after several trips for new keys. After discussion, we decided it would be better to just return home late that night and left without staying at the hotel. The desk staff person did not seem to enjoy her job and only apologized and offered a credit when we were leaving. Hilton has been good to respond and we may give this location another try?

My family and I had just come off of a wonderful stay at the Homewood Suites in Albuquerque, so after a long day of driving, we were eager to pull up to the Homewood Suites in Lubbock, TX, to rest up before heading back home to San Antonio. Sadly, our experience in Lubbock was bad from the get go. This particular Homewood Suites is old and worn, and it looks it. To the credit of the Hilton Corp., it is a property that is undergoing major renovations. And I suspect the new property will be far superior to the current one. What is NOT to the credit of Hilton, is that while the property is under renovation, there is no effort made to make guests comfortable. I mean like NO effort. Here's my biggest piece of advice for Homewood Suites and Hilton: Be TRANSPARENT. When I called to make the reservation for this property in Lubbock, the young gentleman on the other end of the line was perfectly nice. But at no time did he tell me that the hotel was under renovation. Had he done so, I might have looked elsewhere. And perhaps this is why the hotelier discourages its employees from informing customers of the situation at this Homewood Suites. However, I might have stayed. I might have still stayed, even with the renovations, if I had known what I was getting into. Unfortunately, I didn't know what I was getting into. Upon check in, the woman at the desk let us know that it would be best to park in back. We did so. And that's when we learned that the back entrance is completely broken and not secured. Though there is the hardware on the door for the old fashioned key card swipe, it is merely decorative at this point, because once you open the door, you see that the mechanism for the lock is just sitting there on the floor. There has been no attempt made to secure that back door. I don't know if this is part of the renovation or not, but it is a really bad sign if the first thing you do when you enter a hotel is to enter a door that is completely broken. Things went precipitously downhill from there. The room was fine--serviceable at best. But there was no bedding in the closet for the pull out couch. We needed it for our kids and had to call down for it. Someone did bring it up, but it wasn't in a nice plastic bag, nor was it folded, nor was it really clear where it had come from or what condition it was in. And then there was the situation with the ice. My husband wanted ice to cool some green chili stew we'd had in ABQ. He called down to ask about ice machines and was told that they are on each floor. He found the ice machine on our floor, the fourth floor. No ice. He went down to the 3rd floor. He found the ice machine. It contained dirty water and some melting ice. Yuck! The dirty water seemed to be a consequence of the renovation. Again, at no time did anyone working at the hotel even indicate that they were aware that there was a renovation going on that might inconvenience customers. They all acted totally clueless. The light fixture in our room didn't work. There was evidence of the renovation all over the hotel--it was a worksite. But still, everyone there acted as if there was nothing at all amiss. When I brought up the broken door in the back, the women at the desk acted as if it was the first they had heard of it. Same with the ice machine. Same with the bedding and the light fixture. They acted gracious and kind, but they didn't move to call a manager. They didn't act shocked or appalled. The mood was one of apathy all around. I have to say, I was disturbed by their behavior. IF a hotel is undergoing renovation, and wants to continue to house guests during the renovation, then they must be clear about what customers are walking into. Transparency is key. After that, it is important to incentivize customers to want to stay in a hotel that, to be frank, is going to be sub par while it is being worked on. Otherwise one leaves feeling as though they paid for services not rendered. And this is how I felt. After I leveled my complaints, I should have received an apology and a discount off of my bill. That would have been one way to handle it. A better way would have been to be up front, right at the start--to say that the hotel is under construction, that because of that we are offering this incentive or that incentive to have you stay. We will give you these incentives so you aren't surprised or bothered by some of the inconveniences that the worksite will obviously level upon you while you are here. That would have been the best way to handle it. Instead, there was chaos, cluelessness, a messy hotel, a dirty property, and a broken lock and a door that was not secured. I cannot say I'll ever stay at that property again. But the worst part is that this experience sullied my experience at the ABQ Homewood Suites. These properties must remember that they are part of a larger consortium, and that one bad experience at one property rubs off on the whole enterprise. I had a glorious time at the ABQ Homewood Suites. It was clean, well run, beautifully rendered and convenient to all the shops in Uptown ABQ. And I'd love to stay there again. But I will think twice, even with that property, because the Homewood in Lubbock is so darned bad, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth for all of these properties. This facility is poor. Don't stay there. If you do, let the people there know that you know what is going on--because I promise you, they'll act clueless!

After a long day in the car, checked in to find the door lock to the property torn off and no security to property. This was complained about two months ago on Trip Advisor but obviously never fixed. Our room smelled and smoke detector hanging out of wall. The ice machine was out of order. The final straw was the pool was closed down having failed inspection. The young girl on the front desk had no explanation except the parts are on order. When I requested a manager, none was on property and couldn’t be reached. We are Hilton Gold and of all Hilton properties we have stayed in all over the world, this is our worst experience. Avoid this hotel!!!!!

This facility is extremely clean and fresh. The room was fresh in every way and we were very pleased with our experience. We travel a lot at 3-5 star hotels and this one was excellent in our book. I definitely recommend it and will be back to visit family here.

The hotel itself is nice. It was clear that renovations were being done (I.e. the presence of blue tape around the bottoms of doorways) big deal. The unsettling part of our stay was the lack of security. The back of the building had a sign stating that a room key was needed to enter, which is standard, but the door’s lock was completely missing. Anyone could waltz right in, and maybe they did! The rooms did not have security safes, so we spent the weekend hiding our belongings and taking extra care in the hallways.

We stayed here for my daughters graduation from Texas Tech University. The staff is friendly and the hotel is very clean. They succeeded in making a wonderful weekend even better with great service, clean rooms and wonderful food.

Multiple times. But not anymore. Filthy room, fire hazard electrical, Undergoing horrible renovation that's ruining the once lovely, home-like appearance. Staff quality has fallen way down. Awful all the way around. Hotel has instituted an

Fast food trash all over the grounds. Maid laundry sounded like an earthquake, shaking the doors in our room, vehicle parked in fire zone all night, no welcome and given one key for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath room, staff that did not care or try to help. Hot tub was empty, filthy and full of trash! I was told when we stayed there that the pool area and outdoor area would be clean and open long before our graduation weekend of May 12th. All lies! Rooms were nice and breakfast staff was fantastic!
