stayed at this property to start the 2020 yr off. I contacted the hotel several times before booking the room a months prior to my arrival to ensure my room had a balcony and a ocean view. When I arrived to the room, I immediately noticed my view is of a roof of another building. When I complained, I was told the hotel was fully booked and I had to deal with it essentially. I suggested that Sonesta rethink how they advertise that room, the deluxe suite should clearly indicate that the room has little to no views of the ocean. Also the should not be the same price as other rooms on the property as that room type is the worse on the property. It’s completely unfair for anyone to be randomly selected to have a less then desirable experience on the property then other guest. If you do still book there, make sure you do not accept any of the 02 rooms, you will be in the worse rooms and pay the same of others who have the deluxe jr suite.

This is our second time to the resort and we love the staff and location.

The rooms were outstanding and the ability to eat and drink 24/7 was excellent. The food quality may need to be upgraded slightly.

The staff was very welcoming & accommodating! However the room I was I had ceiling work that has been neglected. The corridor on my floor had wires exposed from a ceiling fixture that hadn’t been replaced. I felt it was misleading to label the OceanPoint side as “adults only” if kids are allowed to eat in the same restaurants.

We had a swim out room and it was amazing! So luxurious and we had views of the planes coming in and out of the airport which was so cool!

There were some good bartenders. If you tip the service is way better. Resort is beautiful. Construction was not even noticed. Food was subpar. Beach was small and crowded, but you really need to go out and see as many beaches as you can while in st Maarten. They’re gorgeous. This is a great place to use as a hub, have breakfast, some dinners and plan to eat some out at the Amazon restaurants across the island. Azul and tapas restaurant are the best two to eat at resort. Maybe one meal at the point. Azul for breakfast and dinners.

Everything was great and I will recommend that everyone visit this resort

The pool was never cleaned the entire week. It was disgusting. They are also very understaffed, at times i would go to a restaurant and never be given. a beverage. They are also lacking in entertainment. I only saw one show while i was there for a week. It was very quiet and peaceful....if that's all you want to do. I paid more to stay on the adults side but the family side had access to everything on the adult side! The family side also included a island tour for FREE when i paid $160 for it on the adult side. I would not recommend this place until it gets better management.

We loved the spa service and the guided meditation class! The views are spectacular! We will definitely stay again.

This is not a 5-star property. The resort itself is maybe 3-star but the staff and service are 1 star. With few exceptions, the staff is unfriendly, unhelpful, slow, and lazy. And unlike what they state on their own website, we were refused service without a reservation even though the restaurants were no more than a quarter full. If you book a room with direct pool access, expect water bottles, dirty bandaids, and other trash. Overall, very, very disappointing.

MOST OF THE STAFF WAS RUDE-UNHELPFULL ASK EVERYDAY TO GET POOL IN FRONT OF ROOM CLEANED WE HAD TO GO FIND A GUY CLEANING OTHER POOL AND BRING HIM TO OUR ROOM FOOD WAS AWFUL !!!
