Rented a room for a friend, who was recently left homeless and needed a place to stay. He requested a late checkout (Noon), which they agreed to. In the morning, however, they started ringing his phone at 10:30 while he was in the bathroom dealing with a stomach ailment, and they would not stop calling. They then started shouting through the door at 11 am that he had to get out, or they would call the police for not exiting in a timely manner. I called them on his behalf to try and explain the situation (asking them to honor the late checkout) and they just yelled at me over the phone, as well, never actually listening. They kept saying "not scamming me" or something, and then said "if he's not out in 5 minutes, we call the police." While the language barrier may have played into this situation (and I can certainly empathize with them; being immigrants running a business in a low-rent district, they probably have had people 'scam' them or at least be very disagreeable), but their own lack of empathy was evident. They refused to return the deposit, too, over the 5 minute delay, despite having agreed to a late checkout before. There are better places in Long Beach for cheap (including the Ruby Motel just down the street, which we put our friend up in while we've been trying to find him a more permanent housing situation), so I would not recommend.
Comfortable, no worries, area kinda safe Pretty nice in the inside and out
Clean large room with comfortable beds; excellent condition.
We only went to the hotel to sleep so it was great for a 2 day vacation.
Stayed for a one Sunday night and it was ok. Cheapest place I could find last minute. The air conditioning wasn't all that great and the wi-fi was really slow. The location wasn't the best but again you get what you pay for.
got what i needed from this place, a place to sleep. tight parking spots. front desk is not friendly at all, and wifi is weak. but very clean and quiet. good if youre on a budget
The royal motel in long beach is great for travelers on a budget. Affordable accommodations centrally located in an urban playground by the sea. A short five dollar urber ride to Catalina Express and within walking distance of many shops and eaterys. Strongly recommend it as a get in get out place no frills but comfortable and clean would stay again! Must mention so my fellow travelers are warned do not expect much from the staff they check you in/ out but that's it. But he customer service fits the price. In summation great place for savoy budget minded travler.
The costs was great value for your money clean quite comfortable
Great location. Glad to have rented a room that close to the beach.
It smelled really bad, hard small bed. Got bit by bugs and got pink eye. Shower and bathroom really small
Room was clean, beds weren comfortable, manager was a little difficult to understand. But overall, a good experience.
My Experience at The Royal Inn Motel was fantastic...I stayed here for 2 weeks. My room was nice & clean when I arrived here & the maid always did a fantastic job. The bathroom is large & the shower had great water pressure. Al the Manager, treated us with a lot of respect & I never had any problems...It is located 1 mile from the Ocean & the price is very reasonable. All in all, I give this Motel a 5 star rating...
Upon entering the room, I was greeted by a very aggressive odor that made it very uncomfortable and hard to breathe. Im pretty sure it was mold. I didn't even pull back the covers on the bed. Instead I slept on top of the blanket in my clothes and used my pajamas to cover my pillow. I also got sick while staying there. I would not recommend it unless it was a last minute thing with no other option
It was fine. Microwave, tv, fridge, and clean bathroom
Not in the best part of town either. Ghetto fabulouse!
Cockroach on the wall when we got there! Yikes! Freaked my gf out!
Cockroach on the wall when we walked in! First impressions are priceless!
Sort of small ans outdated room. The only outlet that wasnt in use was the farthest outlet away from the bed. The tv is an older box tv. It had a fridge and a microwave clock. The shower was very warm. If you plan on staying at this hotel you should bring your own bath towel and pillow. Not somewhere that I would stay multiple nights. About 8 minutes away from Csulb.
Room was alright, cleaner than expected by the outside appearance. Located in a not so nice part of LGB though. I recommend staying in and locking Tue doors in the evening.
