Could not be more disgusted with the place. The floors were sticky, the tv remote had throw-up on it, and there was hair on my sheets. On top of that, the comforter literally had a hole on it, everything was just trashy and worn down. I kindly asked the lady at the front desk if I could get a new room and she rudely said that there are no more rooms. I called Hotwire to complain and I guess they called her about it, a few minutes later, we were basically kicked out for complaining. Dont listen to the good reviews on this page, they are paid and generic reviews. OH, and on top of that they stole my deposit. STAY AWAY.
I needed a room last minute in LB, and booked this one on Expedia (my place of employment). I wanted a room with one bed that had a sleeper sofa WHICH WAS SHOWN IN THE PICTURES. We got there and the woman who came to the window was not very professional or personable at all. She had on an apron as if she was cooking and took my ID. I asked if the room had a sofa like the picture showed and she said (rudely) no and said that is only for a room with 2 beds. I showed her the pictures that showed the KING bed with a sofa and she called her husband out. He walked me to the room which smelled heavily of smoke and looked dirty. I asked was the room smoking or not and he said that it was BOTH! Um, how can it be both?! My daughter has asthma and cannot be in a smoking room! At that point, I told them I would NOT be staying there. The best thing they did was allow me to get a full refund. I informed them that I work for Expedia Corporate and that I will make sure to have my experience notated.
Number one... I live in Long Beach. I needed a room for a night or two while I wait for my new apartment to be ready. I had to move out of my present apartment today due to the fact the new tenant was moving in... Unfortunately my other place wasn't ready yet. So I needed to go to a hotel near my job and I was going to bring just the boxes to the hotel room. A friend of mine was going to store the furniture. When I got to the hotel I told the man in the window this. He said okay. I unload what I had into the hotel room. About an hour later I go pick up another load of the boxes, I say all together I had about 20 boxes. Yes that's a lot but I told him this. While trying to unload those boxes the man behind the window just started flipping out started yelling at me telling me I told him I had four boxes so on and so on. That we had to leave that we need to get her stuff get out, he never gave a reason. He just instantly treated me and my friends like we were straight trash. Like we were up to something. He charged $85 for the room with a $20 deposit. And when he first was telling us to get out I said you're going to give me all my money back and the deposit and he said yes yes yes yes. He even said this in front of his family member. After we cleared everything out the room, he did a walk through, as if in an hour and half we destryed the room, he gave me $85. He would not give me the deposit back. I was there for all of an hour and a half. I was trying to get the attention of the gentleman that heard him say he was going to give me the deposit back, the rest of his whole family started yelling and screaming at us. It was ridiculous and it was just ghetto. So up on leaving I took a few pictures. While we were leaving his son or nephew, a young boy teenage boy was dancing around for the pictures posing for the pictures laughing. And then they started recording us pulling away. It was unbelievable the way we were treated at that hotel.
The staff at this hotel represent it very well. They are incompetent and are very unfriendly. The hotel looks like a place that rents rooms by the hour. To be honest, we never got to the room because the hotel is truly a dump. We cancelled the reservation immediately after a short disagreeable discussion with the man working the reception area. To give you a better idea of the type of place this hotel is, there is no inside reception area but rather a window where you check into the hotel. As we departed the hotel we passed by a car filled with what appeared to be prostitutes. The hotel is located in a very dicey section of the city and would be appropriate only for someone interested in such trade. My advice would be to avoid this hotel at any cost.
This place was the worst choice ever made. DO NOT STAY HERE. The ppl in the office were horrible and the rooms were disgusting! We now know why we were the only ones staying there. Be smart and save your money. Not worth it! We learned our lesson.
I rarely think negatively about my travel experiences, but this place is not one that I'd recommend. Admittedly, I arrived after 6pm, already cranky from a day of long meetings. But here's what I had: - there was a $20 cash deposit that wasn't listed on the online booking (thank goodness I had just gone by an ATM) - sheets had burn holes, pillows were flat - shampoo was those sample things you get in the mail. There wasn't any soap. I had to ask for a set of towels. - the tv/cable only got 1-2 channels "but it's cable!" was the response - wi-fi worked for macs, but not pcs - fridge was moldy - there weren't any lamps and not all the bulbs in the overheads were working - no alarm clock - no ice - phone didn't work Once I rested, I canceled the rest of my stay which probably made them happy as I was constantly ringing their bell disturbing them.
We recently moved out of Fullerton California and all the way up to Washington State. I needed a place to stay while I saw clients that I still have in California and after reading the reviews I changed my reservation to the Hyland Inn. While only 2 blocks from the home we sold, I was comfortable being in a familiar place, knowing I was in a safe neighborhood. Easy to get in and out of and is within a short walking or driving distance to food establishments. I was extremely surprised and couldn’t have been more pleased with the look of the room upon entering. The rooms appear to have been recently upgraded with new carpeting, bedding and the bathroom and was super clean. I just needed a place to rest and shower as I had a full schedule planned and didn’t plan on spending a lot of time inside my room. Wouldn’t have mattered though as I felt very comfortable, and there was plenty of seating options (bed, chairs and a small table with chairs). I see other travelers expressing concern about the WiFi, but I brought my ipad, so I didn’t have a need to access their wifi. I did lock myself out of my room at 5:30 am after I went to get coffee down the street (there is a coffee maker in the room too) and the guy I woke up didn’t give me a hard time about it. He handed me another room key with no issues. There’s a small microwave and refrigerator in the room, but no ice machine. The night I arrived, I put my water in the fridge and it was cold within an hour. The only issue I had was there was a light diesel truck parked in the parking lot that started up around 5:00 am on weekday mornings. Wasn’t an issue for me since I’m an early riser anyways. By changing hotel reservations I saved over $100 on room charges for the 3 nights I stayed as opposed to the original hotel booked. Overall, I would recommend the Hyland Inn to those needing to stay in the Fullerton/Anaheim area. I’ll be back here again. Thanks for the great stay!
Soggiorno scadente in camere sporche.
Economico. Da cagalera. Muebles mas viejos que el Castro. Se lo recomendaria a algun indeseable. Unicamente para estar un dia. Las chicas de room-service muy agradables. Volver?? Jaja en otra ocasion.
