I checked in, then went to the beach. I came back with my luggage and opened the room door and there was someone ALREADY IN THE ROOM!!!! I got cursed at, yelled at. But it was not my fault. I literally could have been shot, it was horrible :(I called the front desk right away and she said come down. She gave me a new room while non Chalantly saying "sorry. The room ac didn't work at first and then the bed had a huge dip in it. The door on the closet came off as I was shutting it. I deserve a full refund

Had a blast great hotel and staff free parking room spacious

Went to MB for a business meeting. Good location but most would still drive to the beach and downtown. I would make sure that you request a room that is not adjacent to Sepulvida Blvd. Hotel is renovated. Staff is superb. Brian at the front desk was great.

Loved the hotel. Was greeted right away by the extra friendly staff. She gave us advice on where to get good food locally. The room was large and beds were comfortable. The breakfast was huge and hot. Great bacon, hash browns, fresh fruit, fresh pastries, yogurt, cereal, waffles, you name it they had it. Will definitely stay here on our next trip to California.

This hotel remains a favorite for us. We like the daily breakfast. It's hot and plentiful though the coffee is just average. The hotel is currently under a Lobby renovation but we were not inconvenienced by it. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

Quiet and not a lot of foot traffic... Usually you hear slamming doors all night in a larger hotel. The breakfast they offer in the morning was quite good.

About a 1 mile walk to the beach but very doable. Having the courtyard in the middle is nice as you don't feel like you are right on a busy highway. Ask for a room away from street for a more quite sleep. The breakfast and evening cocktail hour were nice.

Outside of no view, I would recommend this place to those who are visiting friends in the area. Also great if you're on a business trip. My windows faced the courtyard that isn't busy.

The location was perfect. It was on a busy street, but the lay out of the hotel was such that you couldn't tell. It was very clean and a great staff.

Spent two nights in October '13. Everything was above average, save the location. On a busy street. Within driving distance to a lot of things, but that is true of most LA hotels. Could walk to "The Strand" and enjoy a fine day, but then you have to walk back. Probably worth it though, for the day at the beach and not having to feed parking meters.

staff was professional and helpful. Hotel was safe with a pleasant design.

Clean Hotel. Newly updated room. Comfortable bed. Only downside was walls were thin.

The hotel is nicely located near the beach and othe places that we want to go, the room itself is a suite that has all the the stuff that we need like small kitchen and refrigerator. It felt safe to stay with parking in the basement. I would go back and stay here again next year.

Great location (close to LAX and reachable without going on the freeway) but not your typical "drive up to the door and park while you check in" kind of place. The entrance to the hotel is on a busy road and there is nowhere in front of the door to park, not even any on-street parking. The driveway is past the front door and is a shared parking lot with a veterinarian. Ample parking underneath the hotel. But the location is great and there are tons of restaurants in the area, and easy access to many businesses. Inside seems to have been renovated recently and my room (albeit kind of cave-like) was well appointed. Comfortable bed, clean, studio-apartment style HVAC worked well. Breakfast had the usual pre-fab eggs, sausage patties, make your own waffles, etc and was fine - nice to have some protein besides the carbs. Did not partake in the evening happy hour but they have beer & wine and food that for some could work as dinner (lasagna). I would stay there again.

We needed to be closer to a dinner venue for the night, so weren't overly concerned about quality, so this was fine. The breakfast was free, but it wasn't great.

No complaints. The location was great, the room was clean. Will definitely stay here again!

great location, last stop on a 3 day all you can see of California in a 3 hour radius. can walk to many places. cozy familiar atmosphere. room was a little humid, but air was working fine

We enjoyed the location, convienence, breakfasts and the afternoon wine. Room was clean, hotel was quiet and peaceful, and provided us with all we needed. Parking was simple and right underneath hotel and people were helpful.

Good hotel nice facility.staff is very friendly. Lots of amenities including FREE covered parking. They just need to increase the speed of their WIFI. A very good value.

This hotel was amazing and completely surpassed my expectations!!! Our first trip to LA, this hotel provided a comfortable, safe and luxurious getaway without the high cost and high traffic. Great location, close enough to freeway to know how to navigate around, but far enough away so you don't have the noise. Luxurious rooms - large and spacious with beautiful decor. Safe, free underground parking and delicious, hot, full breakfast. Beautiful center courtyard with, what I think, is the freshest air in LA! Only bad thing was that the dryer didn't work - but I'm sure they've fixed it by now. Definitely will stay again!!
