I have stayed in this hotel twice in the last month for a few days each time. The hotel is lovely and set in a beautiful park. Rooms are very comfortable and there is a lot of consideration given to the clients needs with little extras. What makes the hotel stand out, however, is the excellent service given by the staff in all departments, always with a smile. Food is good, especially the breakfast which allows for lots of healthy options. The breakfast chef on duty is a great addition, willing the cater to any special requests. I really enjoyed using this hotel and could recommend it well above the ordinary business hotels, its a little gem that would cost a fortune to stay in if it was in central London. Thank you to all.

After a short summer ‘recess’, this past (rather blustery) weekend marked the start of our new annual cycle of near-monthly trips to London. We were once again warmly welcomed and taken superb care of – from the reception to the bar and restaurant and everywhere in between – by familiar friends and a cosmopolitan bunch of new faces at our ‘Preferred Address’. Our ‘at home’ Sunday afternoon tea with family and friends in the Mary Beale restaurant lasted until well after the sun had set over the yardarm. Matthew Croxford and his tireless team were ‘on form’ as usual, with Fab music from Paul at the piano. Breakfast seemed even better than usual. Just wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

Afternoon tea was not bad !!! but the service and person who dealt with us was the worst service we ever had for afternoon tea ,,, The first thing that person Who had served us had a attitude problem and actually walked away whilst we try to explain to him ,,, that's the only reason I have given it a bad review for the services and not for the actual afternoon tea which was quite good ,, and that's the last time I would recommend afternoon tea there .

I recently became lactose intolerant and was finding it hard to find somewhere local to eat. I found that the West Lodge has a Vegan menu and I booked it to taste some of their food. I had a wonderful three course meal, I really enjoyed it, Beautiful music in the background and the staff were helpful and very polite. I would definitely book again, it was a really nice evening. A big thank you to the chef.

After visiting for an enjoyable lunch a few years ago, we were pleased to receive an invitation to a friend's wedding at West Lodge. On arrival we were aware that there were plenty of parking spaces available. On entering the hotel, we were immediately greeted by smiling staff who welcomed us to the wedding. As we were early, we went to the bar and enjoyed waitress service and drinks at reasonable prices. The room was comfortable and well furnished The toilets were very modern and clean and warm.. We witnessed the ceremony in a bright sideroom and then enjoyed a hot buffet. We looked at the restaurant menu and were pleased to note that the chef used a lot of local suppliers who were named. The menu was varied and well planned, but pricey..The whole day was most enjoyable and the hotel was up to 4 star London hotel standards, Staff were very good and the hotel was very well maintained. A good hotel to visit.

I've stayed at the West Lodge a couple of times now, and I really like it. Friendly competent staff, nice rooms, quiet, and a beautiful outlook over the park. Highly recommended if you are staying up the very North of London. Also has an excellent restaurant which is good as you are not really walking distance form one.

A bunch of golfing friends chose this hotel on a local's recommendation as we needed somewhere close to Hadley Wood golf club (it's less than two minutes away). I stay in a lot of hotels around the world and have to say that this one is 'up there' in terms of overall enjoyment. It's clean, warm, friendly, pretty, the staff are excellent, the food is very good and it's reasonably priced - I'd go back there in a heartbeat.

I visited a few years ago and the afternoon tea was very good. A few days ago i booked for the afternoon tea with some friends. I was very disappointed with the tea provided. It appears the venue is making cuts and for what we paid for it was very disappointing. The staff were very good and could not do enough, however I will not go again. Sad really as the venue is beautiful.

We stayed for 2 nights in a very comfortable King room (30) which I would recommend. Comfortable king bed, pleasant view over terrace and pod coffee maker. Excellent dinner for 5. Table d'hote was very good and value given the quality. South African Pinotage was ideal accompaniment. Lunch for 18 was handled very professionally. Beef was just right and Sea bass beautifully cooked. Wine served at right times and deserts scrumptious. Breakfast much more than the usual buffet. Helpful chef cooked hot food to your instructions. A very successful weekend on a landmark occasion for us. Professionalism of staff and spaciousness of hotel grounds and public rooms were memorable Top marks.

As a fan of both of the hotels in the Beales Group, at Hatfield and Barnet we stayed on the Bank Holiday Monday at West Park Lodge in a very comfortable room (43), having just returned from a long train journey in Europe. We just wanted a quiet stay in a nice hotel before a potentially hectic drive home, and West Park Lodge certainly provided us with that. A nice restaurant with a good menu and a good breakfast rounded off our holiday well. A walk around the parkland was also well worth doing. We normally need to stay at Hatfield due to the proximity of the University, but should that be fully booked we would most certainly stay at West Park Lodge again.
