Great location with unbelievable facilities offering amazing activities. Wonderful staff personalizing every experience. Take your morning run among impala and giraffe but beware of crocs when passing the pond; relax in a hammock on the lawns and by the pool; rejuvenate at the spa; relive Africa on a boat trip on the river; retire to view the sunset from the sundeck. On a serendipitous note: quite coincidentally we were serenaded at dinner with our wedding song The Rose - "some say love it is a river..." And speaking of a river drowning the tender reed and the heart that never takes a chance and the soul that never learns to live - you have to experience the thrill of the mighty Zambezi surging past you to drop 108 meters under your nose as you pose for a swallow-dive on the rim of Devil's Pool; but do this before you take a birds-eye view in a heli flip over the falls (you won't do the pool after the flite!). Remember to leave early for the airport, just in case you also run into the herd of 48 elephant crossing the main road between the hotel and Livingstone town....

I have been coming here for ten years; service had fallen significantly two years ago and has now improved dramatically. Physical plant had always been excellent but quality of service was still spotty in the dining room and the bar down by the river. Check in staff was excellent, spa facilities and spa personnel were the best ever.

You will be impress as we all did Everyone was so attentive Safe, inexpensive, and unforgettable experience. Hotel’s Assistant GM “Bora” was extremely attentive with our stay and he made us feel at home

I booked a corner room with a screen patio. Wild animals grazed in the yard in front of my room. The accommodation was comfortable and the staff were generous and caring. I had a bad reaction to mosquito bites and the staff assisted with medical attention. The service was prompt and professional. Highly recommended!

What a gorgeous hotel, the grounds are spectacular with the resident zebra's, giraffe and impala. One cannot ask for a better setting when enjoying a sundowner from the sunset to the mist of the falls. The service staff are so friendly and accommodating.

I have just done a great pedicure and manicure at the Spa and its the most professional treatment I have recieved in a long time. Ruth is so kind, patient and keeps smiling all through making you feel so at home.

Recently my family and i spent three days at the Royal Livingstone. Needless to say, the property sprawls across well manicured lawns and the rooms over looking the silvery Zambezi River. A serene atmosphere pervades this property flocking with ever smiling staff. It was another heaven away from home. As the adage goes proof of the pudding lies in the eating. Amongst the long list of staff worthy of mention, 2 persons topped the list. Jason the chef and Darwin Fernandez the executive chef, kept our palettes mouth watering. The exhilarating hangover of our stay would linger for ever. Long live Team Royal Livingstone. Regards Lux (Room 5079, 5080, 5081 and 5074)

I would have given a higher review but nearly every evening there was the loudest music playing which kept us awake until 1 am. Completely ruined what would have been a wonderful holiday. The hotel, staff and grounds are amazing. Such a shame and so out of keeping with the quiet and calmness in the day.

The grounds are gorgeous, the location unbeatable, the walk to the falls convenient. The "suites" perhaps needs some upgrading- but nice enough to pass muster. Choose a river view room its worth the additional cost. Restaurants: Excellent breakfast, well intentioned service and probably the best mealin the hotel The dinner and lunch serve pretty traditional fare/ overpriced/inconsistent service makes this a trial in patience rather than a dining experience Activities: While the BushAfrica desk is a welcome convenience, the folks manning the desk lack experience, customer service skills or even basic knowledge of the activities, two of our activities were cancelled because of bad scheduling and their inability to communicate. trying to force us to accept another inconvenient time did not go down well. Front desk: the front desk staff have better training and Anantara professionalism is slowly self evident. They try very hard, aim to please and made amends in many ways to try to smooth the over customer service experience and need to be commended. Lower your expectation on customer service and you will enjoy the gorgeous ambience. Value: Given the inconsistencies in customer service, at this time the hotel is a bit over priced especially the food and room service. Overall: Highly recommended for locations, sights, ambience. Anantara as new management is trying to impart a 5 star slickness/ professional quality to the experience and i wish them well

Everything was perfect since we arrived. The hotel is in a Natural Reserve at Zambezi River allowing you to see the zebras and Giraffes roaming around. The service was outstanding and the workers were always on top of what you needed. Not just that, the restaurant at the hotel was incredible, offering you a very scenic view of the sunset over the Victoria Falls while enjoying a great tasting cocktail offered to you by the staff. Towela, Joyce and our Butler were particularly outstanding.
