I stayed at this Hotel last year for my birthday... The hotel is located in a very exclusive neighbourhood where many embassies are located and as you pull up to Lapa Palace, it looks like you are arriving to one of the embassies. You are greeted by a doorman in a tux and top hat, white gloves and all. He welcomes you into a beautiful reception area with lavash marble floors and large open areas, very well furnished with lots of sitting areas. The receptionist are very nice, they welcome you with a smile and make the check in process a pleasure. This hotel is also a member of a group of hoteles called, "The Best Hotels in the World" and they rightfully claim their spot. The garden and pool area are impecable with plenty of staff to supply you with your lounge chair and towels. There is also a cafe and bar next to the pool if you’d like a cocktail, sandwich or salad as you are soaking up the sun. The prices are steep but if you chose this hotel it’s to be expected. I don’t think the prices will stop you from having a cocktail but may curve you from having a few... The rooms are luxurious and very comfortable with a sitting area and private terrace. The restaurante inside the hotel is top notch. I had my birthday dinner there which couldn’t have been better!! To top it off when I went back to my room a birthday cake, an ice bucket loaded with a bottle of Champagne, and two glasses were waiting. A very classy and nice surprise! I would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel to anyone who is not on a budget...
Situated on top of the hill in the embassy area of Lisbon, this was a beautiful hotel with attentive, friendly staff. Breakfast was great, fresh food and good selection. Had lunch at the poolside bar twice which was delicious and generous sized portions, drinks were expensive though and if they had reduced their prices we would have frequented the bar area more often as there were a number of other places around the area that were much cheaper in this regard. During our trip it was my birthday which my girlfriend informed them of and they brought a lovely cake and free bottle of champagne to our room which was a lovely gesture. They also provided free bottles of water ( it was very hot during our trip), this was a nice touch and really appreciated.
This is a fabulous hotel, beautifully appointed and amazing views. We stayed here because my husband liked the look of the old world charm, I was a bit hesitant because it was off the beaten path a bit. But it turned out, it was the best decision we made. As it wasn't located in the heart of the city, it was quiet and relaxing, and after a day of walking all over the city, it was nice to come back to our luxurious hotel and the serenity of the gorgeous pool area. The rooms are beautiful, extremely comfortable, and are designed to reflect the old charm of the city. And the views were breathtaking, overlooking the water, bridge and surrounding communities. Did I mention how great the staff is? They are wonderful, attentive and everyone who works there goes to great lengths to make you feel welcome and well taken care of. With regard to the location, we found that we could get to wherever we wanted within 15 minutes by cab, then when we were finished our activities, we could go back and retreat to the peaceful luxury of our beautiful hotel. Definitely recommend!
Couldn't ask for more. After spending days walking around town, arriving back to luxurious surroundings in a picture perfect setting at the end of each day was ideal. Staff was attentive and their restaurant recommendations exactly what we were looking for. Gorgeous view from our third floor room. Be prepared to take a taxi (approx 5 euro) to and from the hotel each time, but unless you need to be in the center of town, this is absolutely the place to stay.
We stayed here for 4 nights. Beautiful hotel and we had a free upgrade on arrival to river view without asking. Great service by reception, restaurant, bar and pool area. Our only reason for not giving this hotel 5 stars is concierge. We didn't feel that they really listened to our requirements and in return give us good suggestions. We basically had to do our own research. They were pretty much only good for directions! We had also asked concierge to book us a restaurant first thing in the morning, we then came back at 5 in the afternoon to be told the restaurant was fully booked with no other alternatives booked for us. The hotel had our number and I would have expected them to inform us sooner as by then all decent restaurants were fully booked.
When you first pull up and walk into this palace, you are swept off your feet with service! From the minute we arrived to the second we left, we felt as though we were king/queen of the castle. The grounds are simple beautiful. We did not sit by the pool, but stopped by and it is stunning. This AMEX FH&R is a must stay if you are in town. A much more relaxing location vs. downtown in my opinion and only minutes away.
Absolutely beautiful palace, above great service and food is fit for royalty! The grounds are magnificent and the staff are in tune with all the guests needs. American Express Platinum scores huge points with us for Lapa Palace!
Stayed at Lapa Palace; impeccable service and fantastic property. The suite we stayed in had a great view. Breakfast is good, however I would have preferred breakfast setting on a terrace not at basement level. The staff is incredibly helpful. The pool area is quite nice. It is one of the rare properties in Lisbon with such large grounds. I would certainly go back.
This is quite an extravagant place...from the entrance to the reception...even the corridors have you going wow!! The rooms are very large and I was in a garden room which had its own bit of garden...the breakfast is good food, though the location is downstairs and not a particularly nice place in which to start your day. In terms of eating in the evening...we started with a drink in the bar which is very nice and then we walked it a restaurant named 'A Travessa' which was very very good - it is authentic in environment
We loved it! We stayed for a dat in Epic sana which was good too but stayed here for 3 more nights in the end of our trip to Portugal and loved every min! We booked 2 connecting river view rooms in the 6th floor and it worked perfectly for us. Nice view Good breakfast Excellent excellent excellent concierge service - book us dinners, and helped us in everything! Chapeau! great swimming pool in the hotel and good bar for salads and pasta. We had our 45 min to relax every day there after a long day in Lisbon and before going to dinner. We left our rented car in their free parking (a big +) and took a taxi to town. Only 5-6 Euros and 5 minutes taxi to the city center! And the price- only 430 euros per nigh for the 2 rooms! Most recommend!
