Amazing stay. So much to do with Kids, A great location and we love coming back. It gets better every year! The Horse riding was also exceptional this year, hotel close to amazing restaurants on the Guincho stretch. The staff are warm, helpful and happy. every request is dealt with efficiently and quickly. Thank you Martinhal!
We did not know what to expect but we had a wonderful stay at this hotel so much so we stayed an extra day. The room and decor was lovely and the bathroom extra large. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I have experienced. We used the hotel taxi on a regular. Basis and they were immaculate and the all the drivers were friendly and helpful. The children's facilities were super. An excellent experience.
Lovely stay in green area. Friendly personnel that are happy to make any preferred baby meal. Taxi that was arranged was very comfortable with good baby seats. Rooms are spacious and clean, but bed nightstands have sharp ends. Be careful with baby heads. Babyfoon of hotel doesn’t work, so use the IPhone Babyfoon app.
Everything was perfect. Room was nice and big. All of the staff were absolutely lovely. The choice of things for kids to do was more than enough. The breakfast was also great. The only shame was the Italian restaurant closed for dinner on the 1st November so we were left with only one choice of restaurant in the evening. Nonetheless a taxi to Cascais was only 10 minutes so we ate out a couple of times. Definitely 5/5 overall and we will be back next year.
The Hotel Martinhal ALMOST gets it right, but sadly the food lets it down on every front. Offering dining in 4 different locations throughout the hotel, not one of them really gets it spot on sadly. Before I comment on the food, the staff were wonderful and very friendly, the bedrooms and beds were very comfy and there are amazing facilities throughout the hotel for kids. I have read many reviews since we visited and it seems they have not taken on board the advice given by so many customers. For this to be a family hotel, it must cater for the entire family and not just the kids. We ended up booking a baby sitter all 3 nights just so we could get some decent food. The bar in the main hotel is the only place you can get served before 6, which when you have a 1 year old, is too late. Unfortunately the bar only offers a burger or a toasted sandwich or pasta.. not a great selection for a long stay. The service was so slow, and 2 Bloody Mary’s took 20minutes, and tasted horrible! In the M Bar restaurant out by the playground, the food menu looked good, if you like pizza, but the service, again was awful, with none of the staff knowing how to make the juices while we were there. We had to wait 30mins till the other members of staff came back on duty. The hang out bar seemed OK, but there was no atmosphere when we were there, however I think this is due to the end of season. The food in the main restaurant was substandard and not good enough to enjoy on holiday. The food really must improve for a return venture, which is sad, because I love the concept and the hotel itself.
Great family hotel, great activities, lovely place! Lots of swimming pools, table football, trampollines, kids play areas etc. Cascais itself is a lovely town, and close to Lisbon, 40 mins on the train, very reasonable train rates etc. Overall very, very good!
Just returned from 2 nights at the hotel over half term with my husband and 11year old. Loved the design of the hotel and the variety of the activities offered and surrounding area. We especially enjoyed taking bikes to Cascais (bike guy was very helpful). We probably have discovered the hotel a few years late .... I think families with younger children would definitely get the best from all on offer. We felt like the oldies! Main meal times I guess especially at half term were very busy, with staff trying very hard but the experience was a bit compromised as a result. Food was fine, we missed coffee shop like offerings. Great hotel for younger families, but we did enjoy our stay, with the staff being especially helpful.
An incredible week in Martinhal Family Hotel. A boutique family hotel with high quality. Looking forward to repeat next year. The ubication is amazing in one of the best areas of Cascais. Super close to the beach, to Cascais centre. All the personal were super kind.
Excellent trip to Martinhal and thoroughly enjoyed the resort. Superb hotel and we would return in a heartbeat. Facilities, service and hospitality high and very relaxing and comfortable rooms. Kids loved it although think at 10 & 9 are getting to the upper end of ages the hotel is targeting
Beautiful hotel, excellent facilities and wonderful staff. We felt very looked after, and had a great holiday. The location was great and we enjoyed day trips out to Cascais and Lisbon. The only downside was the restaurant food, which was over-complicated and disappointing.
