The front desk staff is helpful friendly and efficient. But the hotel is old. The room was very small. The hallway was noisy; lots of door slamming day and night, and noise from the street.Even though I had asked for a quiet room, it appears this was all they could do.

Hotel AS Lisboa, was a great hotel for the value. We knew we weren't booking a 5 star hotel, but I was very happy with our stay here! They are easy to get to from all major transits and are located right on the corner of a central road through the city. The metro is right across the street and can get you all over the city - you can also buy a 24 hour card for 5EU. It was also very easy getting cabs, which we took to and from the airport (Tip: if you arrange it through the hotel they charge $20EU, but if you flag one down the rate will be less). We stayed at this hotel 3 separate times on our trip as we were traveling across the country and Lisbon was our home base. They let us leave large luggage behind in their secure and locked luggage drop room. The front staff was great! They all spoke English and were very helpful with directions and suggestions. We rented 2 rooms for 4 people, and stayed on 3 different floors throughout our stays. Some of the floors have been renovated and were comfortable and well done. However, the shower design in the new bathrooms was a half door that causes water to get all over the floor and doesn't extend back from enough. The older rooms were outdated, but had a more efficient shower, with a full length shower curtain in a deep tub. I had no problems with the temperature in my room, however the other room complained on more than one occasion about a broken AC which was unable to be fixed during the stay. Overall, great value!

The hotel is just a little bit outside of the main downtown tourist attractions, but it is very clean, the breakfast is pretty good and it is literally right beside a subway stop...and you only have to go four stops to get to the heart of it all.
