Very comfortable accommodations for my family of 10! We enjoyed the common area in the lobby--very beautiful. It's a remodeled hospital so the hotel itself is a little odd--lots of wide hallways. Breakfast was also lovely.
Very nice people at the reception. The whole hotel is really value for money. We had room under the roof but they were very cosy and well equiped. Our friends had trouble With lost lugage, but they searched and offered a bottle of wine for the inconvienence. A toilet at an other room didn.t flush. A plumber came to fix it, even as it was the 31 december arround 20h. We didin’t have time to use the spa, next time we surelly will
A luxury hotel that is more than a bit quirky as it combines over 600 years of history, with ultra modern design. Convenient for town centre (a 10 minute stroll). Great reception on arrival (thanks Antoine). A specious bedroom with very comfy bed. Enjoyed time in the wonderfully comfortable bar area each night. Very happy with breakfast. Enjoyed our swim in the spa. Wanted to give it 5 stars - but! The quirkiness got in the way - in a historic bedroom with uneven tiled floor - very old tiles - some loose, some broken - try walking on that in bare feet at night - squeaking tiles, tile bits lifting. Started off as a feature but became annoying. Repurposed heritage doors on bathroom and bedroom - again, started off as a feature - but door latch catches sticking out - catching on clothes, arms - annoying. And then checkout on Sunday morning - a twenty minute queue. This is genuinely a lovely hotel with great staff - but those annoying quirks (and I didn't even mention the modern art - think of Toy Story's Sid and his toys) makes it 4 star for me.
This was the second time we have stayed in this hotel this year. It has a very upmarket feel and it is a very interesting historic building. This time we stayed in a lovely room in the historic part of the hotel. It did involve negotiating several sets of stairs but it was not a problem for us. The staff are all very professional and pleasant. The only downside is that we were overcharged by upwards of €100 at checkout. Fortunately I always check my bill and it was soon sorted when brought to the staff's attention.
A very swish hotel just a few minutes walk from the historic centre with a friendly ambience in a sympathetically modernised, historic building. Our room was comfortable, the bar area welcoming and they valet parked the car for a couple of days, which saved us any bother.
From the moment you get here you realize you are in a special place. Gorgeous lobby and bar area! Beautiful spacious rooms and nice bathroom. Best nights sleep on our month trip! Breakfast buffet was just ok, you had to time when you tried to get stuff as they never put out much when they do and if it’s busy it disappears fast!
Hotel was a stop over on the way to calais. What a great choice of mine (no Mrs D... My idea!!). Having managed to park right outside the hotel things only got better. Apparently an old peoples home converted to a hotel that has a bearded harp playing hippy strumming to Michael jacksons "thriller" was part of the appeal! Room had bundles of character but be warned if you're planning on eating in the adjoining brassiere please book. It was like a queue at Santa's grotto 3 mins after opening.. And PS steak amazing but please please can we have vegetables.. Staff amazing... Courteous and helpful... I'm going back.... OK... OK... Mrs D.. You can come as well... Pps check out the adjoining chapel with art... Full of character.
We took our 13 month old to Lille just before Christmas and stayed in this beautiful hotel. We booked the children's pack which got us a great cot / play area, toy and some amenities, which was a lovely touch (she still plays with the toy!). The hotel is a well thought out mix of the old original building and a large glass atrium. We really felt like we were somewhere special. Our room was not large, but very cosy with original wood beams on the ceiling and a huge comfortable bed. The luxurious bathroom had a wonderful bath which helped with relaxation after the days exploring Lille and the Christmas market. I'm looking forward to an excuse to go back.
We spent 3 nights here the last week of October and would definitely return. The location is 5-10 min from the train station and the architecture is amazing being in a converted hospital. Take some time to check out the small exhibit and to take a look around the hotel. It is an easy walk to the city center where there is some good shopping and some great places to eat and drink. Room was large as was the bathroom although there wasn't much of a blind in the shower so we felt a bit 'exposed' to the world while in there. The pool is small but nice but please note the spa is used by locals and hotel guests and they were booked solid for a week for massages so I would say book in advance. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was great with made to order eggs and a nice selection of extras. Would definitely return.
Feels like Coming Home. Friendly welcoming staff. Comfortable room and a good nights sleep. Easy walk to the centre of the Old Town. Lovely individual shops, cafes and restaurants. Central feature of the hotel. The old Chapel, Function Room, The Atrium Bar and the Beautiful Pool and Spa. This is the third visit and I would highly recommend this hotel when visiting Lille. There is a Bistro Restaurant and a Main Restaurant.
