This is a classy hotel and I scored a good amount of 'Brownie Points' from the fiancee for bringing her to it! Upon checking in the staff member showing us to our room gave us a brief guided, historical tour of the hotel. The room we used was astonishingly good - spacious, clean, modern (around the original features of the old part of the building). The bar area is beautiful and the restaurant served an excellent breakfast. A wonderful stay and we will definitely be returning!

Had a long weekend here. The room was lovely but before 7.30am on Saturday and Monday we had the awful noise of trolleys being moved up and down a slope outside our room, we were above the back entrance to the hotel; usually this time of day would not have been a problem but we were on holiday! Bathroom nice but bath completely in the wrong place! The restaurant was sadly not in use for dinner only breakfast. Otherwise the hotel was lovely and very convenient for the centre of Lille.

We had a very pleasant two nights here. The staff were professional and friendly, the decor just amazing and most importantly, the beds were so comfortable. We'll certainly come again if we get the chance.

My sister and I stayed in Lille as part of a trip to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Passchendaele in Ypres, Belgium. The staff are exceptionally friendly, helpful and cheerful..On arrival, the room we had booked proved to be too warm, so they quickly found us another. When they discovered we had a wreath of fresh flowers to lay at the Menin Gate, the Reception manager arranged for the wreath to be kept in a cool place overnight, which was very thoughtful.. Abdul, Clare and and the restaurant staff were so kind and helpful; nothing was too much trouble. We chose the full breakfast which was well presented and very varied too but at 23 euros was a little expensive. We chose to park the car safely in the hotel car park which at 30 euros a night was again expensive. And while on the topic of expense, a glass of wine in the bar cost us 15 euros! The building is stunning, especially the beautiful chapel. The architecture is quite unique with a mix of historical and modern..Our room was spacious and had a lovely bathroom. The beds were very comfortable. So a good choice for a stay in Lille in an elegant , friendly hotel. However be aware of some of the "extra" costs. The cost of drinks in the bar is particularly dear.

If you're looking for good quality but something different, this is it. Well situated for a stroll into town, this hotel has not been open terribly long and is situated in a collection of ancient buildings, dating back to the 1660s with a really modern addition containing a pool and sauna. As many old fittings, tiles and doors have been preserved as possible, making it very evocative. The restaurant and the attached bistro do good food in the evenings, breakfast is not quite so good with inattentive service and poor bread rolls ( a surprise in France to find supermarket-style baguette batons and the nicer bread quickly runs out as people cut slices off it )

Stunning old building well reconstructed by connecting history and modern style. Meeting room within church part is quiet exceptional idea. Nice, clean rooms and kind service. Meeting rooms well organised served with snack and cafe. Logistically just 10min by walk to old town. Really exceptional place including spa and gourmand restaurant.

Arrived at the hotel by taxi from Lille train station. No porter in the front entrance, had to come inside the hotel to find someone to pick up the luggage. Check in was OK. Booked and received executive room, which is in the old part of the Hotel. Room is like a Júnior suite, separate bedroom, toilette inside the bathroom. One first problem was that they turn off the air conditioning from 1 AM to 5 AM, on the first night, so the room gets warm. Breakfast is served until 10am weekdays and until 11am Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays . Second problem : I had the " do not disturb " sign out of the door, and even with that someone knocked and asked if everything was all right, that they tried to call the room and no one answers... Third, we left the room for dinner at 9h00 pm on the second day, asked at the reception for turn down service. Arrived midnight...and the room was exactly the same when we left... The air conditioning was again turned off, but at this time I called the reception and asked to turn it on, had to insist 2 times... Towels and bed linen were ok. The Hotel is 800 m from the main city square, some 15 minutes walk, in a not beautiful but safe area. Check out ok, only had to ask the Hotel to remove the high speed internet charge. All in all a good Hotel, will stay again only if I get a good rate.

My husband and I stopped at this hotel for two nights in June and had a really lovely stay. It has a very relaxed feel to it - certainly not stuffy in any way. The building is an old hospice and although it has been modernised to an exceptional standard and it has retained it's charm and character. The public areas are light and airy and there is wonderful art work on the walls. It was great to wander around as it is so quirky. The chapel is so gorgeous. The bar is in the centre of the hotel and is an extremely pleasant place to relax. The sofas are comfy and as the roof is glass it was very light and airy. The drinks were very expensive and although drinks in hotels often are I thought they were a little too pricey. Our room was on the second floor and was very stylish and comfortable. The walls were wood panelled but it certainly wasn't oppressive or claustrophobic. The bathroom was lovely and the toiletries of good quality. Bathrobes and slippers were provided which was a nice touch. The pool is in the basement and was lovely. It is not a huge pool but certainly worth a visit after a busy day wandering around the streets of Lille. There are a couple of courtyards with beautiful flowers and one with wisteria which was absolutely stunning. Really lovely outside spaces to chill out in. Breakfast was fine - plenty of choice and staff constantly replenishing the buffet. In addition to the buffet porridge and omelettes could be ordered. There were plenty of pastries and there was even gluten free bread and cereal. All of the staff were friendly, efficient and extremely helpful - nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay here and would certainly stay again if we are ever in Lille.

Have stayed here numerous times on business. Understated luxury, just like I would want. Rooms are well appointed, with high end toiletries, robes and slippers. A/C works well - especially important for us Americans! Excellent service by the staff - especially the friendly guys at the bar. They are well informed on the drinks and wine. Excellent breakfast and it is quick. Highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for 1 night as my usual one dimensional concrete block of a hotel in the middle of the city was full. Such a pleasure to stay somewhere the staff are extremely well trained, polite (but not obsequious) and the ambience exudes calm and relaxation. Sure it was expensive but every once in a while a bit of indulgence is nice and makes you realise it is worth paying for every now and again.
