Hotel Lille Europe3.0 out of 5.0

The hotel is nice. If a bit on the small side. But rooms comfortable and clean. We had a twin room on 5 floor I think. It was nice but view was overlooking the building site and the main road. So as the weather was a scorcher we couldn't have the window open as it was too noisy outside. But on 7 floor our friend stayed here and she had great WiFi unit. And tea coffee facility. So upgrade if you can. Problem is no twin room on this floor! Great location though. 2 minutes from Eurostar. And easy to walk around Lille. Would go back.
While on route from the UK to Spain travelling by train we chose to break our journey to allow us to catch a morning TGV train for the next part of our journey. The hotel is very well located between both Lille Europe and Lille Flandres railway stations about a 5 minute walk from Lille Europe and about 3 minutes from Lille Flandres. When we arrived at the hotel at around 2045hrs we had to wait about 10 minutes to be checked in while the gentleman on reception dealt with other guests. It was quite a warm evening and found our room to be cool and comfortable and had a good night’s sleep. We had a good Wi-Fi connection in the room.
Had one overnight stay here on our drive through France. Great location with comfortable beds and clean rooms. We had interconnecting rooms which was ideal. If you're looking for somewhere for dinner try la luck which is only 10 mins away.
We had a train trip from London, and hotel's location was perfect as it was less than minutes away from train station. And it is towards city centre: it's like 5-10 minutes from very heart of Old Lille. We were lucky to have Grégoire at both Check-in and Check-out. He was extremely polite and very helpful with all questions and queries we had. We did not have breakfast in the hotel so cannot comment on that. Room was compact but much bigger than any of London's hotels I stayed before - so no complaints here. Everything was clean and the maintained on a daily basis on a high standard by cleaners. We read somewhere in the web that hotel does not have a wifi and were concerned, in fact it is not true - you get handy mobile wi-fi for free with really good signal - and you can carry it with yourself, so it was good we did not need to use roaming when we walked in city centre.
Had a couple of nights here to visit Lille for the first time. Ideally located for travelling via Eurostar as it is only 200 yards from the station. Very friendly staff, lovely clean, modern room, although the Tea/Coffee facilities not up to the normal English standard - there was, however, complementary bottled water in the room. The deal we received included breakfast which was the usual continental but a very nice spread of bread, croissants, pain au chocolate, cold meats & cheese, boiled eggs, yoghurts etc etc. There are lots of places nearby to eat in the evening. The town centre with it's quaint streets is within easy walking distance. All in all a very pleasant experience - highly recommended.
This hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Eurostar and to Lille Gare. Behind is the shopping mall, ideal for stocking up on wine, cheese and fish to bring home. Our room did not have tea making facilities but did come with a fridge. Very handy for our cheese and wine nights in the hotel. Hotel is very clean. We have booked to return again in July.
Located conveniently between the two train stations, you can access it easily from whichever station. The hotel is right next to a large shopping mall in a large modern building, so you have everything you need really close (supermarket, stores, fast food chains, restaurants etc.) The city center is close too, you can walk to the historical part of the city. Our room was on the 7th floor, the hotel has a lift. We were offered a 4G internet connection which worked perfectly all the time. The room was equipped with a large double bed, a table and a TV. The room was spacious, as well as the bathroom (we had a bathtub). The only thing we didn't like was the really small trash can in the bathroom, it could have been larger. There was also a kettle, tea, coffee machine, hair-dryer, and a mini-bar. The staff was pleasant and helpful. We didn't have breakfast as there are so many venues just round the corner. I would stay here again, the hotel is simply perfect.
We used this hotel on business trip to Lille. This hotel is very close to Gare de Lille-Flandres and Gare de Lille-Europe, shares its building with shopping mall having the famous supermarket Carrefour. So, it is very useful. But we were irritated with this hotel's room key (RFID tag). Whenever we returned to our each room, we couldn't open our room. According to a front desk clerk, if the key is put into a bag together with a mobile phone or a laptop PC, it may not work well. Please improve it!
This was our second time at Hotel Lille Europe after a very nice stay last year. Unfortunately this time our stay was much less enjoyable. A large school group, 70-80 teenagers or so, were staying in the hotel and we were seemingly sharing a floor with them. As a result we were kept up until after 1am, and woken again at 8am, by knocking on doors, running in the corridor, bangs on the ceiling and walls, and loud music. We went to reception, explained the situation and asked to be moved to a different room. We were told that no rooms were available (something contradicted by their website, which was still showing available rooms) and that a staff member was going to go and tell them to be quiet. Predictably that made no difference and we had a stressful and sleepless night. We informed reception when checking out of our bad experience and got an excuse about the leaders of the group not keeping control of the kids. We sent an email to the hotel the following day explaining our disappointment. A week later we are yet to receive a reply. We wouldn't expect Hotel Lille Europe not to take on school groups but they need to have some way of reducing the impact on other guests. At the very least, they should offer some sort of solution when guests complain. At present, they don't have either of these things which is why we won't be returning.
I stayed here for work for 2 nights. After arriving I asked for internet access, the wifi was so weak, I couldn't access emails, netflicks, YouTube... terrible! I decided to run a bath, the water ran brown! When I let the water out of the bath (without having been brave enough to get into it) there was a brown scum all over the bath. The internet was a massive issue because I couldn't work!
