We stayed here for only one night on a weekend visit to Lille from London. The location is excellent; you can't get much closer to the train station, and with a 5-month old this was music to our ears! The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room wasn't available to check-in until 2pm, but when we finally got in it was spacious and came complete with a cot as requested. It was very clean, apart from the toilet which didn't smell fresh at all - more like a Portaloo. Breakfast was nice, with a varied buffet available until midday. The only other improvement would be to add baby changing facilities to the reception toilets - surprisingly missed for an otherwise family-friendly hotel.
We stayed in this hotel during our long weekend in Lille. As we came by TGV train from Paris, it was super easy for us to get to that hotel straight from the Lille Europe train station (you literally climb up the stairs to get there). The hotel itself is a typical business hotel, thus do not expect extra stuff in there. Nevertheless, rooms are very spacious and relatively good equipped. Everything is clean and well arranged. Sleeping quality is very good. I was however let down by the breakfast service, as I was expecting slightly more choice. Personally, I recommend you that you do not take a breakfast at the hotel but you eat it in a nearby mall. It is very easy to get from the hotel to the city center and it takes around 10 minutes walking time. Overall it is an easy going hotel, good for an overnight stay in Lille.
For public transport this hotel can't be beaten. With the Eurostar 20 meters across the road and SNCF 300 meters away. The Roma are ex offices with well appointed bathrooms fitted. The rooms are all well fitted out.
A great place to stay in Lille as it is right near both stations. The hotel is modern and clean with free soft drinks and movies. The best thing is the wonderful staff who are very helpful and caring.
Stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Excellent Staff, especially Ken & Soumia on reception who were always very helpful.Good situation, next to the Eurostar terminal. Our room was a really good size & very clean with fridge, microwave, tea, coffee, kettle, t.v and Wifi, complimentary bottle of evian water & Nespresso machine. Good sized bathroom with separate bath & shower and plenty of white fluffy towels. Quality comfortable bed and we had triple glazed windows,so no external noise,it also had air con ! Breakfast was a good quality Buffet, where you were able to cook your own eggs in a skillet on a hotplate ! Breakfast staff were continually replenishing everything when required and were very helpful (they need to put out more cereal bowls, though!). There are bottles of water, sandwiches, salads & microwaveable meals available from a fridge in the Reception, and also a pleasant Bar adjacent to the Reception area. The two hotel lifts are efficient and there are well signposted fire escape stairs.
Stayed early June for one nite whilst visiting Ploegsteert memorial and then going onto Amsterdam. Arrived from London on Eurostar..very handy to that and Lille Flanders for day trip. easy check in and nice room on an upper floor...quite liked the modular design. Big room..Nespresso machine. Adequate breakfast next day..would stay again.
03 June - room excellent. Good bathroom and very clean. Quick check in and out, efficient staff. 21 June - room very poor. Wet room and toilet had bad stains. Also carpet stained. Staff always friendly.
Stayed for the 4th time here in the past 12 months and will stay again end July. Convenient location to Euro Lille station and shopping mall. Good sized rooms and vale when compared to other hotels in same area.
We were really impressed with the hotel room space, facilities and furnishings including the aircon, bathroom and extra layer of window glazing for noise reduction. The staff we very friendly and helpful every time we spoke to them. The hotel is ideally situated immediately outside the Eurostar station and a short 15-20 minute stroll to Le Vieux Lille. We would definitely recommend a stay here.
I booked this hotel through Orbitz instead of directly through Novotel, and that resulted in a bunch of headaches as the front desk clerk double charged me for my room. After several hours of back and forth, including putting a dispute on my credit card, I finally got the extra money refunded. So beware if you use a third party booking system! Despite this annoying and time wasting hiccup, this was a great little hotel! The location is incredible, it is right next to the main train station. We had a very early 6:00 am train and wanted to stay somewhere convenient so we wouldn't have to wake up at an even more ungodly hour to rush to the station with our bags. The location is a blessing yet also a curse, as while you are close to the train station, that means your view will most likely be of a busy (and noisy) road and there aren't a lot of dining options nearby or even within walking distance. The room had thick, double paned windows that did a surprisingly good job of muting the road noise, but we get hot in Europe (especially during the winter months when they blast the heat) and like to sleep with our windows open to cool things down. We were cool, but it was loud outside -- so it's a catch 22 when it comes to sleep quality. We arrived in the late evening and got a bit twisted around from the Eurostar station but finally found the hotel. It was buzzing in the packed lobby, which apparently has a very popular bar because it was busy with locals. It almost looked like a nightclub instead of a hotel! Check-in was swift and as pleasant as you'd expect at a French hotel. Our room was large and spacious, with a weird layout -- the bathroom toilet was separate from the shower, like in far opposite corners of the room. I've never seen that before. The room was well equipped with a mini refrigerator, a microwave, a tea kettle and a Nespresso machine! These were very nice amenities, especially for a non-luxury hotel. Toiletries in the form of a multi-use body wash and shampoo in the shower were provided as were the standard teeny tiny European hotel towels. The bed was pretty comfy and soft-ish, a true compliment for a hotel bed in Europe. There was a curtain dividing the room if you needed some privacy (it reminded me of my old dorm room, lol). Free wi-fi, but an extra charge if you plan to take breakfast. We just grabbed a croissant at the train station while we waited for our (delayed) SNCF train.
