The only reason I am giving a one star, is a lower rating is not possible. First, this is Motel 6, not M. Heard a commercial this evening from "Tom Bodett", saying they had remodeled their motels with a contemporary feel. Well, someone forgot the Lewisburg WV location.. And as far as your slogan "we will leave the light on for you." There was no light left on, only a non-lit banner on the second floor balcony. First, when we arrived at 9:30 pm, the lobby was closed and dark, with a bell or a number to call. I rang the bell, and after a few minutes, a woman answered by speaking out a window to the parking lot. She was able to find my reservation. To be honest, I did not expect a 5 star hotel, but I did not anticipate what we found. I do not care about old furnishings, many hotels have them. But they are normally CLEAN. The fronts of the dressers, and the inside had both had spills and stains on or in them, the walls, doors and baseboards we FILTHY. The comforter on one bed is extremely worn and has those little knots of fabric that make it look dirty. There were several long black hairs in my shower, and the floors in the bathroom, and base of the toilet looked like one out of a frat house. They have cobwebs so old in the corners of the ceiling they are now spiderwebs complete with dead bugs. The room smelled of cigarette smoke, to which I am HIGHLY allergic to and have uncontrolled asthma as well. There are holes in the walls and ceiling, stuffed with TISSUE PAPER for whatever reason. There are many dust bunnies stuck to the ceiling. A literal crap ton of dust and rocks were found under the bed, along with plastic bags and desiccated pieces of food. Now for safety. The rear lot is poorly lit with many avenues from some neighboring houses that anyone could approach unseen. Fortunately I was legally armed and could protect my family as the front door's deadbolt had been kicked in at one time and had not been repaired. Even the fire extinguisher(s) had not been inspected in the last 2 years. One small positive, there was VERY hot water. The negative was you have to either settle for scalding hot or tepid lukewarm as you could not get the adjustment to take in between. One small bar of soap for 5 people, no extra towels (3 given), no shampoo, nothing. The fridge was fairly clean, but for the mold in the freezer and seal, and the ice buildup on only what I can assume used to be the freezer. It is rusting out on the bottom complete with a liquid spill on the front. The microwave had rust all over the inside, no carousel and is not usable. Lastly, we were not given a WiFi password for the supposedly free WiFi. So, after all of this, we thought if even we couldn't get a "better" room, and sleeping in our van was looking very good, we could at least get the WiFi password for the kids. We went back to the outdoor "window" No one was there. Rang the bell, no one would answer. Called the phone number listed on the door, no one would answer and the box was full. I can't even go into the lobby in the morning and complain as it will not be open until 9:00 AM!!!!! We are departing at 6:00 AM. What kind of hotel does that? I have an email into Motel 6 corporate, will update this review if I hear anything back.

we spent 2 nights here 54.00 per night it was out of the way a little hard to find you get what you pay for the internet was slow no coffee office didn't open till 9am the girl on desk was very friendly was helpful I would prob stay again but just 1 night

The Hotel Manager was extremely attentive to our needs. The rooms were very clean. The views of the State Fair Ground were amazing. Fantastic experience and very comfortable. I highly recommend to others for business and vacation stays. This will be our hotel for any future stays in Lewisburg WV.

This is the most dismal excuse for a Motel 6 that I have ever seen. This is not a new Motel 6; it is some other motel name changing itself to a Motel 6. My 1st impression on arrival was “what a dump.” Maybe it’s not quite that bad, but at least halfway there. I reserved online, expecting to find a standard, ordinary Motel 6 building. This place is primarily, I think, a residential motel, where people live for extended periods. There were shoes outside one door, a lawn chair on the balcony outside another. The door to the lobby was locked, and the lobby was dark. When I rang the bell (as per the sign posted), the clerk talked to me through a small side window (said window being dirty). She said she usually had the lobby open til 9, but since it was getting dark earlier… but this was not to say this wasn’t a safe area in which to stay. The room smelled musty. Toilet works, don’t know about the tub. When I poured water down the sink drain, part of it spilled through a visible hole in the top of the drain and onto the floor! Tried to log on to the internet, but the logon didn’t work. If it hadn’t been 9:45 PM at that point, I would have asked for a refund and gone elsewhere. In the morning when I went to check out, no one was in the office. Another guest, one of the long-term ones, told me the clerk had gone to run an errand. She also told me that the clerk AND the owners KNOW about the sink drain, and haven't gotten it fixed. There are apparently a number of other repairs that are needed, but (per the guest), the manager had been unable to get the repair person to actually repair anything. She also told me that previous housekeepers had stolen new towels and bedding when it arrived, but that the current housekeeper was good. There are so many things wrong here that I despair of it ever actually making it to the usual Motel 6 standards – clean, windows that open, plumbing that works, and the like. I use Motel 6 when I travel, so I'm not against the chain, but I hope Motel 6 sends a company rep to check this place out - preferably un-announced!

I thoroughly enjoyed this hotel! The staff is so friendly and accommodating! They helped me find a taxi and got me coffee at all hours! It was clean and great appliances! Iron, microwave, and fridge were helpful. Easy location. Really cheap for the quality of the room and service!

We checked in and had reservations considering the overall condition of the property and location. There was a woman sitting on a picnic table with a blanket wrapped around her totally oblivious to anything. The room was even worse. It had a terrible smell and the toilet didn't flush. The freezer in the mini fridge had not been defrosted for a long time as it had a six inch ice build up. I wished it had been better since the caretaker was wonderful. $55.00 down the drain. We packed up and went to the Hampton Inn three miles down the road.

I have traveled around the world--stayed in all 50 states plus India, South America, Mexico, Europe, and SE Asia. I can honestly say this ranks as the worst, and certainly the very worst when you consider the price. I was greeted by flies in the room, no remote for the tv, no wireless, no one ever answered the phone at the front desk when I called 3x, no soap, no shampoo, multiple cigarette burns on the bed spread, the previous guests' food and beverage residue on the nightstand, filthy greasy floors that hadn't been washed in who knows how long, picture hooks where pictures once hung, and an overwhelming urine-like/cigarette odor from the a/c unit. There are no excuses for a place like this to even exist, much less charge $62 a night. Yes the cost is below average, but no reduction in the price would come close to justifying a stay in this place. Shame on Motel 6 for not bringing up to standard, just slapping their name on the front with a cheap vinyl banner. In my view, it should be closed until it is renovated--or bulldozed. I have never stayed in a dirtier place in the US.

The loose banister to the second floor decking and the rundown exterior was a foreboding of things to come. We chose this room because it was close to the fair and at $151 for the night figured would be ok...WRONG! Bed linens were just as thick as table cloths and the room was sparse and dingy. No chairs, uncomfortable beds , and a limited tv selection. Wifi was free but we never could get on. I showered the night before we left and the tub refused to drain. We tried calling after seeing that some rooms were canceled. No answer. Never again will I choose a room before reading reviews!

This place is now a Motel 6 but don't be fooled. A dump. I booked 2 nights in June on Motel 6 website. We were there for the state fair. Our room was pretty worn, dirty woodwork, newer laminate floor that was absolutely black, light over sink didn't work. Bed was clean . Killed 3 questionable bugs. Went shopping the next day and when we got back our things were thrown in a storage room telling me our reservation was for 1 night. I had my confirmation but the room had been rented the day before and no other rooms to be had. The manager Sharon let us use another room to clean up. OMG! Filthy, stains on walls, smoke detectors missing, heat/air unit destroyed, no hot water in sink, ice bucket catching leaks under the sink. Manager said owner won't give her money or credit card. Found a room 50 miles away. Trying to work something out with Motel 6 but not much cooperation.

This motel is in the process of changing names or web site. Went to book for the price listed only to say it was booking another date after it took my reservation. The date we need is double the price it is listed on here and several other sites. We got told not our problem it's a computer issue. When calling you can not understand the gentleman answering the phone. I was told their was no charge to my credit card we will see.
