"When you enter, it looks clean and modern, reception very helpful and friendly. Then you enter the creaky elevator (one wasn’t working so had one for 8 floors for the day), carpets in hallways had same detritus the whole time we were there along with accumulated garbage at the ends of the halls. The room itself was “inconsistently updated” —it doesn’t matter if you slap a new bed set and other wall features in if you don’t repair the hole in the ceiling, fix the cracked tile and the moldy caulk in the bathroom, paint or replace the peeling door from 1992, and so on. The bed was very uncomfortable and so were the pillows. The room itself was otherwise very clean (although housekeeping ignored our Do Not Disturb sign … what the hell) and the breakfast buffet was very good with overall good service. The beach/pool showers never worked. The heated pool was nice. Overall this is an OK price for an OK hotel on the beach near a relative’s house."
