Had a long weekend there together and booked 3 nights at the Beechtree. Great stay, mostly because the kingsize bed is one of the best we slept in. Bathroom has a spa bath, separate good shower. Enough free parking and wifi for free and fast. Supermarket across the street and also fine dining. (The Bantry). Approx. 1 km from city centre, so a 15 minutes walk. We will come back!
We stayed at the Beechtree Motel over the weekend-lovely room nice and clean -loved that you could have a spa bath while watching TV -very cool set-up I will say that the bed wasnt very comfortable tho-The mattress was strange for want of a word-cant really explain it (Lumpy) But other than that -yes we were greeted with a smile-not much conversation tho on arrival and on Departure Yes its in a good location The whole experience of going away includes the Friendliness of the motel owners-I felt it was lacking here at Reception Motel itself-lovely and clean and tidy and in a great location-so we would stay here again Thank you
I always read through the reviews of the hotels in TA before I make any bookings and I would like to tell you that all of the good reviews of this hotel are accurate. I stayed in this lovely motel twice, before and after my photography tour to Tongariro National Park. The motel is only 15-20 mins away from the airport and the airport shuttle taxi cost only NZD20. Checking in both time was a breeze and they always greet you with a smile. They have rooms on ground floor and first floor , so if you have heavy luggages, maybe it is better for you to make the request for the rooms on the ground floor. Rooms are spacious , clean and well lit. They have a small pantry area where you can find plates, cups, cooking utensils..etc. There is a spa bath tub and a separate shower cubicle. Water pressure is good. Their towels are white , thick and fluffy and tissues are soft . There are quite a few of wall plugs which made charging the devices easy. Wifi is of excellent speed. Bed is comfortable ( not too soft nor hard) and there is an electric blanket which comes in handy during winter nights. Location is great as it is only a very short , pleasant walk to town centre and the restaurant Bantry across the road ( 1-2 mins walk) is a restaurant that I highly recommend. The second night I was too tired to go out for dinner and Jacqui told me that I could ordered food from Dixie Browns. Their gourmet pizza was delicious! There is also a small supermarket and a fruit store right across the road from the motel . Jacqui is friendly and helpful and she will make you understand what top hospitality services is like. Taupo is a lovely town and if I ever come back again, I will definitely stay in the motel!
Travelled to Taupo for a work event, stayed one night on a twin room Decor was modern, spa bath was large and separate shower handy The kitchenette was adequate if stating longer as it was well appointed. Large modern room that didn't get swallowed by large flat screen tv. Handy location to walk into town
We stayed here on our way back from Napier and, overall, was a good stay without being exceptional. We were allocated a room in a slight alleyway (No5, I think) which only was an issue in the morning with a guest leaving quite early and the sound of the door being continually opened and closed amplified in the alleyway and ensured there was no going back to sleep. Also, there is a cleaners cupboard there, so that gets used too. Also, right by a car parking area and when someone needed about 10 goes to get their car started, not quite the serene start to the day we had hoped for. The room was large, clean and comfy. Good amenities and the only comments I could have was no milk being a little disappointing, which I imagine was probably an oversight as tea and coffee was provided, and a lack of shower cap in an otherwise well stocked bathroom. Price-wise, average, however we would visit again, just making sure we had a different room.
Took this motel on spec. From the moment I opened the reception door, i was welcomed with a warm smile. Entering my room after parking my car conveniently under cover, I was greeted by an immaculate room with a delightful small outside area complete with chairs and table. The bathroom was generously provided with soap and shampoo, there was a substantial spa bath, which I used and dried myself off with real fluffy cotton towels. Wow, this place was an Oasis of delight. I had to leave early in the morning, but as indicated the place would be open at 0700 hours, it was and as I left I got the same delightful smile......
We stayed here for two nights and we had a clean, modern and spacious room with comfortable beds and plenty of car parking. It is located a short walk from the town centre and we can recommend it if you are staying in Taupo.
Such a lovely motel, tidy, clean, great facilities, and friendly hosts. We stayed in a spa bedroom suite, and could not have asked for more. Motel is close to most of the main attractions, and multiple dining choices are available just a minutes away. Highly recommended!
Perfect for what we wanted. Nice clean and tidy, with easy walk into town. There was plenty of parking and information on a lot of different activities, also an atm and a block of shops including a restaurant, four square, and butcher directly across the road.
Modern, clean, quiet, great location, very comfy bed, great room and bathroom layout, friendly staff and reasonably priced... what more could you want?! We payed a bit extra and stayed in a Lakeview room which is very far in the distance so not sure I would bother next time but other than that it was great!
