Loved this resort. Within 15 minutes of Heavenly ski resort (1 hour from Northstar and Kirkwood.) Loved the virtual check in, we got there late at night and liked having someone to talk to. Unit was well stocked, clean and great layout. There are lots of stairs, that would be a problem for some, but we had no issues with it. The stairs are because it is built into the mountain and the views are amazing. Rooftop hot tub with views of the valley are stunning. They even did a mid-week clean and changed the towels out. We would definitely stay here again.

First off, it is a microwave\convection oven so it was a hassle to try and bake food I brought from home as we like to cook. It does say that so my fault for not paying attention. Second, I have been in more timeshares than I can count and this is the most under supplied kitchen I have ever been in! Plan on bringing the miscellaneous yourself, like covered bowls for leftovers or covered butter dish, or clear wrap, extra fry pan as there is only one, etc. They should not advertise wifi in rooms because it doesn't work longer than a few minutes. The tech support was as helpful as possible but he said he could not help much as the place needs a better router and upgraded system. It's an older building, could use a little repair here and there in the rooms. That said, front desk was very helpful, housekeeping went above and beyond to accommodate, views are awesome of Carson Valley. Cooking and Wi-Fi are most important to us. I will make sure next year I reserve earlier so I can get Ridge Tahoe instead.

This was our second trip to the Ridge Sierra and, like to first adventure, we were pleasantly surprised to find such a spacious, clean, and inviting unit. It had all the amenities we could ask for including an in-unit washer/dryer and a working ice machine in the fridge to supply the beverages. The unit over-looks the Carson Valley and the view was awesome! I highly recommend the Ridge Sierra to anyone looking to stay in South Lake Tahoe.

The place had two bed room two bath with full kitchen and two patios with assume views. Check in was done by phone -new to me but worked simply and fast ! The roof top 4 has BBQ and 2 hot tub areas ! The hot tubs were clean and had amazing views of Carson valley Nevada! The place also has washer and dryer in unit . Parking can get tight when the place is full . It is close to stagecoach lift Heavenly. The only thing is the street is oneway so you have to go back around to get to lift! There is s shuttle that stops right out front to take you into town . There is a game room and you can get DVDs if your board with cable TV or just need a break from all the outdoor fun just steps away ! We loved our place!

My husband and I have spent many vacations in South Lake Tahoe but have never in almost 40 years if traveling there have ever encountered such a ‘dump’. We exchanged our timeshare in palm desert through platinum interchange. They neglected to inform us that there were no elevators, multiple landings (steps) , no air conditioning; virtual checkin; construction plus the swimming pool was not on premises thus you need to wait for long periods of time for shuttle access. This is why the timeshare business has a bad name. I called ms spanier at the resort to raise my complaints and no one called back. I spoke to A representative at Platinum and was informed Michael (manager) would get back to me.. I’m still waiting. They say when you pay peanuts you get monkeys however I did not pay peanuts and got along worse than monkeys. I caution Anyone over the age of 50 to Beware!!

This is definitely not a destination for anyone who Has expectations of a decent place to enjoy a vacation. The resort is in desperate need of repair and updating. There are multiple staircases, no elevator and no air conditioning. The decor is ‘early basement ‘! I called the resort manager, Ashley Spanier, to discuss my issues however I received no response. Unless you are a devout skier and need to be close to ski action in the winter.. save your money. You need to wait for a shuttle to take you to a neighboring resort to assess a pool.. the wait can be lengthy!

The location might be good for winter sports. Other than that we were in building 269, very hot during the day with little relief at night only some cheap window fans. TV is not high definition, the furniture is all 20 years old with popcorn ceiling, the knobs on the stove don’t indicate what temperature they are at. There was only one roll of toilet paper when we arrived. The beds are lumpy, lighting is poor. Check in with an automated television screen having to wait one at a time to get your room card printed, very limited service. One positive is very hot water for showers, Hard to regulate the shower temperature knob. There was a nice view of the Carson Valley.

So close to the stagecoach ski lift, walkable in fact. We weren't here in The winter, but august. Wonderful large pool to do laps but sharing with other owners. Did not find the pool crowded. Herd that there is a shuttle that runs you into town. Beautiful view, locked secure building, even bear proofed.

Had a bad experience at the Ridge Sierra resort on 7/20-7/22/18. When we checked in, the receptionist told me that check-out time would be 11am when I specifically asked. However, about 20 minutes before 9 am in the morning of 7/22, a lady identifying herself as the manager told us that we had to check out by 9am. The early checkout was an unexpected surprise. When we asked if it could be extended a little bit so that we could finish packing, she became agitated and rudely said "get out of the room within 20 minutes, or I will call the police to take you out." I was so frightened, I'm a frequent traveler and never had an experience like this anywhere in the U.S. If after reading this you still decide to stay here, make sure to get the check-out time in writing.

Giving an extra star for Olympic Court. The rooms are getting run down. Curtains need replacing - always hang a blanket over the slider window if you want it to be remotely dark. Jets in the spa upstairs didn’t really work.
