This place is absolutely disgusting! We stayed the first night but the second night we found roaches in the bed and left right away. The owner refuses to refund the money and still made us pay half of booked days. If you want stained towels, carpet that blackens your feet, mold in the tub, roaches in the bed and everyehere else, and to deal the rudest B**** of an owner, then be their guest! Absolutely horrific. I would give no stars if I could!
Found clump of hair and huge beatle in the bathroom. After expressing concerns to management, management refused to refund my money because the room had been used more than 3 hours (we dropped off stuff at the motel then took off for the beach for a few hours, came back and found clump of hair and huge beetle). Management never apologized and she walked away from us. Totally very poor customer service. After arrival, we discovered there is a burned building in front of the motel.
We knew the price and terms were too good to be true, but needed a place to stop for the night so bit the bullet and made a reservation. Big mistake. Sleeping in our SUV would have been an equally good bet. On the plus side no credit card was required to complete the reservation. That was a warning sign. Upon our arrival we saw people hanging out in every nook and cranny. The place looked like a tweeker wonderland. We could have left because as mentioned they did not have our credit card info, but this place was the only game in town that was not clearly overcharging. Why that is was clearly obvious. Anyway we elected not to run and checked in. The friendly woman in what looked like a makeshift office was pleasant and helpful. We completed check-in and made our way to our room. As noted there were people every where: in the parking lot, on walkways and hanging out on the balcony. Nothing about the place made us feel at ease. The burned out restaurant and bone dry swimming pool were obvious omens. Anyway, we hauled everything of value into our room and hoped for the best with what was left in the car. We found no soap in the room, no facial tissue and no waste container for garbage. The bed was of questionable cleanliness so we put our own bedding and pillow on top of the provided blanket and sheets. The night was uneventful and the car was still there in the morning. We quickly showered utilizing soap we carried in our travel bag, packed everything back into the car and left as quickly as we had arrived. Barely a soul out anywhere at 8 a.m. Other than the friendly woman in the office there is nothing to recommend here. Avoid this place.
During my time here i received several calls from people in other rooms here at this hotel wanting to buy drugs. The linen and towels were badly stained. Behind the cubic frig there were over 200 rouches. The rouches were coming from the walls. Management's reply was to bad, live with it. Management is very unpleasant and unprofessional. Many residents are drug addicts (meth heads). Cops are here every 2-3 nites. This motel should be closed on grounds of rouch infested, drug related, as well filth. I've left the roches with the board of health.
Oh hell no we picked this hotel Cuz we on a tight budget . Drove up to it it had many extended stay customers. Bicycles ever were . Nope not for us drove 50 feet .. travelers inn same company was a whole bunch better
We met some interesting people while staying there but the place is pretty "red neck". Randy tries to be helpful but there is only so much you can do here. No coffee in room. There is a coffee maker though, so bring some grounds. Now, that's not to say all rooms have a coffee maker or a working refrigerator but maybe the office wont be giving out there coffee maker and you can get a cup there. Remember, though, the office doesn't open until 10AM! The place wasn't too dirty but the outside was pretty run down. It's a older property and has not had a lot of TLC. It's situated in the old downtown area and there are some good bar/restaurants to walk to. All in all it is only a place to stay if you can't find anything else.
We usually look at TripAdvisor before booking our hotels, but did not do so this time. Our mistake. We booked this motel on line after reading that it was refurbished and refreshed. I am not sure what has been done to do so, but we found this to be the worst motel we have ever stayed in. When we arrived the young woman behind the counter was very friendly and called us by name. When we asked how she knew our name, she said that only three people had booked a room and we were the third ones to come in - that should have been a clear sign. When we drove up to the room we spotted several outdoor chairs that had torn and worn upholstery. There were a few couples sitting around drinking beer. As we entered the the room we found that is was mostly clean with a small microwave and refridge. However, there was NO 24 hour office staff, NO hairdryer, NO clothes hangers, NO Do not Disturb sign, NO telephone book, NO coffee, NO clock, NO curtains (only cheap blinds that let in the sun). Additionally there was only one set of towels; the deadbolt did not work and there were no additional security locks; the TV was very small and emitted a high pitched buzz; and the internet was very slow. Throughout our stay there were people partying in the parking lot and playing loud music. We were told by some locals that this motel is in a very bad part of town. There are many decent looking motels in Lake Havasu City that are almost as cheap and provide breakfast. Our advice is to stay at one of them. DO NOT STAY AT THE SAND CASTLE.
my daughter and i were traveling and stopped a this hotel to stay for the night. we received our room and a very friendly manner, and when we got to out room it was very warm, i called the front desk and told them the problem and they upgraded my daughter and i to a suite with a kitchen. i was very inpressed with the kind service here and will deffently being staying there when we take our next vacation
They did not have my reservation, they also did not upgrade the room like that said that would of, and they did bot give me my money back like that said that would of. We waited till 2am outside for our room. This was the worst hotel and worst service ever! Will never stay here again!!!!
called to make sure they had my reservation and they did not, they said they would upgrade my room and have it ready when i get there. there hours laster NONE of this happened! we got there and waited out side for someone for over an hour, then we were told to drive to a different hotel to get out room keys. the lady still didn't have our room ready so we had to wait another hour outside until 2am! once we got the room it was dirty and we had to wait for the lady to clean it, they told us we would get at least half of our money back if not all of it, and we only got 25$ back! this was the worst experience and the worst hotel ever! I DO NOTTTT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO STAY HERE, DONT WAIST YOUR MONEY, JUST STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!
