Was surprised by the roominess of room but being right next to the exit door of the building was terrible. Could hear everyone who kept exiting thru the door, had to keep my tv on the whole night to try and drown out the noise. Room was very clean, pillows aren’t the best, but the soundproofing needs improvement. I was in the Inn building.

Hotel is ok but it's not a resort. We stayed across the street at the INN building, felt like we were at a different hotel sharing the ammentities of the main building. The lobby was nice also the pool was nice Restaurant staff were not friendly

We stayed the weekend at the margate. Our room was at the inn building which was across the street from the main resort. The room itself was very nice. It was recently renovated so it was in good condition. Unfortunately we could not enjoy the rest of the resort due to the location. We had our baby with us and it was inconvenient to have to pack her up and drive across the street for breakfast or the pool. The street is too busy to cross. The only other complaint I had was with house keeping. We stayed two nights and our room never got cleaned. They came once and I was feeding my baby and told them not now and they never came back

My only complaint is that the gazebo bar was closed while we were there . Guess I missed the fine print when I booked it.

Room 507 lake front view is half blocked by a large tree. beds are very uncomfortable and noisy carpeting is dated and feels dirty toilet is extremely low for older persons and no hand holds shower water pressure is weak

Nice convenient location with a lot of options. Being right on the beach is an added bonus.

Saw a show at Bank of NH Pavilion and stayed here instead of driving back to MA...totally worth every penny!

Very nice place with nice people. The pool closed early but everything was functional and clean.

the hotel is nice, right by the lake. the jacuzzi and pool felt nice after a long day of driving and the view of the lake from the room was a nice way to start the day.

Great for families. Good location and amenities. Friendly staff, clean.

My kids loved this place. Nice staff!!! Can't wait to go again

Nice hotel, close to gunstock mountain where we went skiing.

Had a good time at the hotel. Stayed here with a group of friends. The hotel is right on the water. The staff were super friendly, gave tips on local attractions and shopping, showed us around the hotel.

We stayed one night here for a girls night out to a concert at the Meadow. The staff was friendly and helpful when we checked in. It was a great location in relation to the venue. We had to leave the next morning but there looked to be a loved view and access to the lake. It was an average room, nothing terribly impressive but nothing to complain about either. For the cost we would stay again. The only issue was that there was a huge line at checkout. Most hotels you can just leave the card, but they have old fashion keys and the checkout process was taking WAY too long. There was a lobby full of people just trying to leave. They need to find a way to expedite that process.

No problems at all. convenient to all the locations we wanted to visit.

Clean rooms and common areas, friendly staff, beautiful site with it's own beach. The pool is in another building from the rooms. The restaurant is only open for breakfast (an excellent buffet for $7.) Convenient to the town and it's restaurants, grocery stores, etc.

My wife and I stayed at the Margate for just one night after a wedding we attended, and thought it best not to drive back to Massachusetts that night. Our stay there was very enjoyable. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We had a great view of the beach from our room as well. The staff there were really friendly and helpful. We enjoyed it so much, that we have discussed staying there again in the summer so we can enjoy the beach while we stay there. The location is great as it is very close to weirs beach and a lot of great attractions that Laconia has to offer. Can't wait to stay here again.

Hotel has everything you need though it does need updateing. Views of the lake well worth it but try not to be on the first floor as everyone is right outside your window. Hotel was almost an hour behind in the check allownace time which was a little inconvienent. Beds and room need to be updated. Overall would go back again.

Staff was friendly but a bit slow with check in and out. Their system seems very old and outdated, aka paper hand written reservation cards etc. They also give you metal room keys, which wasnt an issue but seemed very old fashion. We just stayed there overnight for a place to crash after a concert, so really didnt get to try many of the extras. The indoor and outdoor pools looked nice. Location near the lake was very nice. Rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. Pretty basic ammenities otherwise. Nothing fancy, but all you would need. I would stay again.

We stayed at Margate over the Labor Day weekend Sep. 2011. Room was clean and comfy. Swimming pool, sauna, hottub - all very nice. The best thing that I liked was the Gazebo bar which is right next to the boat dock. We kept our boat at the dock for the whole duration of the stay and it was very convenient. The service, food and drinks at the Gazebo were exceptional! The small minus - no Wi-Fi access in the Inn Building where we stayed but all other buildings do have Internet access. This is very minor as I came there to relax and enjoy the mini vacation and not to surf the net :) Very big plus is that shopping plaza is walking distance with big supermarket. Thank you Margate and Orbitz we will be back!
