Very nice view, room is very clean. Would definitely be coming back

Total bait and switch! The room did not have AC and there was nothing in the description to notify us. Spent the night blazing hot with no sleep. The room was pretty beat up too- dust, peeling paint in various spots, rust around the shower, bed was very thin/hard, elevator on last leg, thin/flimsy windows/doors. The pictures make it look like a cute, fun, hotel on the beach when it’s really an old motel with no AC and aged rooms. For less than the price we paid to stay here we usually stay at the Grande Colonial (similar location, cleaner, more spacious, HAS AC). Please for the love of all that is holy do not punish yourself by staying here. At least inform people you don’t have AC so they can make an informed decision if they want to suffer through a summer night in a hot room with no ventilation. Not worth $100 to stay there, much less the just under $300 we paid per night with parking.

Fantastic staff but they are working with a pretty bad property in a fantastic location. View is unbelievably beautiful. Shower goes ice cold to scolding hot every few seconds. That made showering interesting to say the least. Filthy carpet, hard bed, patchwork in shower surround, fridge does cool, coffee was horrible. Wouldn't stay again until the fix plumbing and update rooms

Disappointed not what I expected. Property was old looking and bathroom was tiny, tub was dirty, towels filled with hair and could not figure out how to work the ac box thing so I did not sleep comfortably. The only thing I liked was the view so I guess we paid a lot of money for that.

I loved this hotel...our room was amazing the seals & sea lions can be a bit loud but everything else made up for it

Excellent location, spacious suites, peaceful ambiance.

Right across the street from the beach, from a park, and from some scenic coastline. Hotel's rear exit puts you right in the shopping district. Nice coastal and sunset views from some rooms. Large pool and large jacuzzi, open until 10pm, but may be overrun by children. Room clean and comfortable, with nice balcony with chairs to enjoy sunset. Balcony could use a repainting, but is adequate. Good TV service and decent Internet. Excellent location for a stay in La Jolla. Room decently quiet from neighbors, but some inevitable noise from the park and the street outside. Bathroom smallish, but shower water pressure good and hot. Room had mini-mini-fridge (wine bottle fridge) and coffeemaker. Perfect location to launch a diving/snorkeling/kayaking trip. Would stay again.

Excellent location and views. The staff was very accommodating and the pool and hot tub were perfect after a swim with the sea lions. The rooms were comfortable and clean.

Good location and that’s about it. Rooms were not sound proof at all, you hear everything outside and next door. There was so much dust in the room as if it was never cleaned, just linen was changed. Dust on the bathroom door, headboard of the bed, the blow dryer handle was sticky.. There is only 1 elevator and it was very slow and looked like it was undergoing construction and stunk inside.. only thing nice was the lobby

When I got to the hotel they did not have my Orbitz reservation. I booked a two bedroom /two bathroom suite. I called Orbitz and then the hotel gave me a room. It was not the room I had paid for, it did not have a balcony or two bathrooms. I called the front desk when I got to my room to complain, but they did not move me. I guess they had someone in the two bedroom/two bathroom room already. I realize that they did not have my reservation in their system, but that does not change the fact that I didn't get what I prepaid for.

This was our second stay in two weeks. We chose this hotel for it's two bedroom, two bath suite. The electrical outlet did not work in either bathroom. We tried to use the outlet on the other side of the bathroom wall in order to blow dry our hair and still use the mirror. That outlet was also dead. I reported the problem to the front desk.

Great location but hotel could use some updating and new carpet.

Great location. But the hotel is a dump. The place is old and the room was small and smelled damp. It was so loud due to a wedding and people yelling all night.

Room does not look like the picture. It is smaller, dingier, no air conditioning. Bathroom only fits one person at a time. Hotel is loud, especially if you get a room near the trash shoot or elevator/stairwell - which this was both.

I am a heavy sleeper but still did not sleep a wink at this hotel. You can literally hear EVERYTHING. The location just isn’t worth it.

Very out dated pricey rooms. No AC in my room and if you are on the back side of the hotel there is no air movement. If the description does not say AC then there is no AC. Buyer Beware! Very close to the cove. Non beach activities are a hike up the hill. I always wanted to stay here because of the nostalgic look and location. Now I can check that box.

It was exactly what we needed.... Wished there was an air conditioner but other than that it was nice
