A wonderful place for families. Easy walking distance to beaches, shops, etc. Host communicated wonderfully. Would definitely stay again!

The Porter House was as advertised & in a location that made it convenient to access both shops and restaurants. The kitchen was well appointed with almost everything you would need to cook any meal. Any questions we had were answered in a prompt and efficient manner by the host, which made everything from booking to checking out an easy process. We would definitely book again if staying in La Jolla.

A very charming coastal property with amazing views. The front courtyard feels like you are sitting at a private European bistro with the table, chairs, umbrella and colorful flowers everywhere! Watching butterflies floating by and gazing at the purple flowering Jacaranda tree and palm trees. The master bedroom is a marvelous retreat after spending the day at the gorgeous beach nearby. We loved the quaintness of the living room with comfy seating, gorgeous views, beautiful light fixtures and basket full of blankets. The hot tub was enjoyed tremendously by all! You are so close to the best restaraunts, cafes and shops.

Beautiful Home and Views!

Our stay was wonderful! Our group had plenty of room and enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor spaces. The views were beautiful and home was well appointed with everything you would want for a vacation stay. We were very happy with the property.

Great place to stay! Beautifully landscaped, charming hour, with a grey view of the ocean. Very conveniently located to get to all the beautiviful spots along the coast while located in a quiet, lovely neighborhood. Great service from the host. We had a minor issue in heat g the hot tub and they were available right away and sent someone over who fixed it. Highly recommended!

Our group of five adults absolutely loved our visit to the Porter House, a charming hillside cottage in La Jolla. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the clear attention to detail and the thoughtful amenities throughout the home. The design perfectly captured that classic old California charm while still feeling comfortable and well-appointed.The home was freshly cleaned without a dust-bunny or stained glass to be found, the kitchen was exceptionally well stocked with everything we needed, the bedding was pristine white and fluffy, and the ocean view was simply stunning — the kind you never get tired of waking up to or winding down with in the evening.One particularly special feature was the front garden, enclosed with the most lovely flowers and greenery against the surrounding brick walls, providing a picturesque experience for al fresco dining and camaraderie among the hummingbirds and honeybees. Notable inclusions were the working gas grill, various ocean-view deck seating, hot tub and private en suite lower quarters for those needing additional privacy.The location was another huge highlight. It was perfectly situated between the beach and Mt. Soledad Park National Veterans Memorial, with convenient access to shopping, restaurants, and everything La Jolla has to offer.This home made our stay relaxing, memorable, and effortless. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy, beautiful coastal CA experience

10/10 Highly recommend!

Visited Porter house with a family of 5 (3 kids over 21) and it was absolutely perfect. Extremely clean, fully functioning updated kitchen, enough seating in the living room, and plenty of sleeping space. Views from the back porch can't be beat. There is such charming character in the home, a nice departure from the typical boring, grey modern look. Not having a TV in the living room is a great touch - lead to so much quality time and fun. Only a short drive from the beach, Torrey Pines, & other great spots. Easy for Ubers to navigate! Parking spot fit our large car. The host was very responsive and thorough without being overbearing. Truly a perfect cozy get away in La Jolla!
