This ryokan is in a great location next to Nishiki market, the shopping arcades and 3 stations (Karawamachi, Gion, Karasuma). You can easily get to all the near by attractions by walking, bus or train. Most importantly, the hosts are lovely, there's an onsite indoor onsen bath, breakfast was great and the room was good. I'd definitely stay again.
This is a cute little Ryokan hosted by some very sweet Japanese women. This is the second time I've stayed in this hotel and both times I had an excellent experience. The location is right next to the market but far enough away to now be super loud. The breakfast was very traditional and good.
We've stayed there for 2 nights with my son and friends. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, facilities were very clean, and breakfast/service were amazing. Very nice location close to the market, shops, at the center of a historic district. Bathroom was a little small but I'm happy we got that at a Ryokan! One issue was no WiFi in the room, which added to the authenticity of experience.
