It was a clean room and it had nice amenities. It was a little snug and cozy but the cleanliness and amenities that were provided were appreciated. The check in process took a little time.

Staff were there to collect our delivered luggage to the hotel which was great. However room is incredibly small and a little out of the main area which is a bit of a hike after a long day of walking around.

The wifi was really bad in the room (the tv worked okay but couldn't even load a video on my phone) had to use sim card instead. The room had a vent to the outside directly over the bed that said not to close, you could hear people talking in the street, sirens, and traffic all night. (We were on the 6th floor). For the price, not horrible, but we wish we had stayed at the same chain we used in Tokyo instead. You have to gather your towels and trash and put outside your door as well, no room cleaning. The bathroom had a strange smell but was actually a really good size. The room size was good and the hotel was clean. Good location and good luggage storage.

We had a great 5 night stay at Bon Kyoto! The location is fabulous, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Bus stops (a must in Kyoto very close and staff were very friendly. The hotel is new and very clean and has nicr self serve ammenities. The price was amazing for our 5 night stay. A slightly unusual (for Australians) housekeeping arrangement with leaving rubbish and towels outside the door in the morning. The beds are very very hard, which was a struggle for us, but outweighed by the benefits. A mattress topper would make a big difference. You get a passcode for your door which felt secure. I would've felt more secure if you needed a code for the door and lift too, however the area was very safe so not a big deal.

The room was great! Very quiet exceptionally clean. Only drawbacks were only one laundry machine and couldn't find staff when we arrived to ask where/how to store our luggage but we figured it out. Would 100% recommend staying here.
