Poor condition hotel, late check in,old room and bad smell, need renovation
We enjoyed our stay at Grand Inna. Reasonable price at a good location. We love the staff-very helpful and welcoming. Well stay here again.
Wife and I stayed here for three wonderfully relaxing nights. The service was good. the room was cleaned well and they were consciencious about only replacing the towels on the floor and not he ones still hanging. Although a nice hotel the reason for not giving a 5 rating is that its clear from our time there that it needs work. It was likely a 5 Star a some point in the past but time has taken its toll. They are in the process of updating one side of the hotel and likely will be doing much the same to the rest as time goes on. Overall we liked the hotel and were comfortable. Important note. The concierge was not really helpful in giving us suggestion on well anything. There is a sightseeing desk inside the hotel that can arrange all sorts of excursions but unlike almost everything else inside the hotel you can NOT bill it to your room or use a credit card...CASH ONLY. We found this strange so we figured it all out on our own.
The free breakfast was the best I've had at any hotel. There was some construction which kept one of the pools closed, which was unfortunate but the other pool was nice. If you're from America, you will need a converter for anything you want to plug in. Nice friendly and helpful staff. Very clean room, very nice hotel.
Mine, and probably others, opinion of this hotel will vary wildly based on whether they stay in the refurbished part of the hotel or not. On our arrival our room was not refurbished. It was dated looking and we were pretty disappointed. Then, as if in a movie, bad things kept occurring. First, the sink backed up. Someone came up and plunged it. Then, when my girlfriend took a shower, the shower backed up. Again, someone came up and plunged it. Then I showered. It wasn't as bad, but the water started backing up toward the end of the shower. I decided I would wait until morning to call again, as it was late. In the middle of the night I got up to use the bathroom, and there was a medium size insect running around on the bathroom counter that I had to kill. Then, about 7am, there was a loud popping sound. It turned out to be an outlet that my GF's phone was plugged into exploded. It ruined her charger, but not her phone. At this point none of the electricity in the entire room worked. Then a manager became involved, and gave us a room in the refurbished part of the hotel. From then on our stay was great. We had a view of the ocean, and a nice updated room. Someone even came up at some point with a book about Bali as a gift for all the problems that we had. I also want to say that throughout all of this the staff were great, and also the breakfast buffet was excellent, worth the extra cost.
This property is located right on the beach there a 3 large pools and they are clean. The challenge is the rooms are old, tired and in dire need of renovations mould in the bathrooms, paint peeling, smelly sewer gas in the rooms so if your only here for a few days it is manageable for a week or longer I wouldn't recommend. Complaining to the management was of no use nothing changed for us. The newer building has no balconies, the older part does but you can barely open the door to get out to sit on the balcony. I wouldn't stay here again
