Kartika is a lovely hotel on the beachfront and has its own fantastic restaurant and bar perfect to watch sunsets. Staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble to make guests happy. The pool and garden areas are lovely and well maintained. Would not hesitate to recommend Kartika.

Mould!! Changed the room because it smelled of mould. Second room (in a different wing) was just as bad!! And the bathroom was grubby as well. Such a shame- the Kartika used to be a classy establishment! Now it is just another bogan hotel! Am trying to shake off a bug which I am sure is from the unhealthy room air-conditioning. Sadly, won’t be going back!

I stayed in a discovery suite and was allocated room 5053 which had an amazing ocean front and pool view which exceeded my expectations. The views from this room were 180 degree panoramic views of the coastline. If I stayed again I would request this room.

We had a lovely stay, the resort, staff and facilities were excellent. Our only negative was having a room opposite the lift and utility stairs, the noise, particularly at night and early morning was quite uncomfortable. Going back we would enquire about the room position.

Staff were very accommodating and friendly, happy to help with anything. Money was excellent and better rate than on the street. Breakfast was good and pool area was lovely. Many people seemed to wait for room on arrival beyond the scheduled check in time. We waited 1.5 hours. Also our daily house keeping always seemed to occur around 4.30pm, often when we were trying to get ready to go out.

Had the best weeks holiday staying at Discovery Kartika! Staff were brilliant and eager please! Food was excellent! Stayed here 21 years ago and clearly the rooms could do with updating especially the bathrooms. Clean but very dated. Towels are almost grey now. I realuse covid must have taken its toll but they could do a few rooms at a time. Staff generally were very friendly, pool bar very very slow with service. Took over half an hour and a reminder to get a can of coke.

The band playing at Sokube were far too loud as we could hear them loudly playing in our 5th floor room with doors & screens closed from 6.00-10.00pm every night.Sadly the Beach conservation project out the front was also noisy & some nights they started at 3.00am.

Fantastic staff, location and service. Excellent location for walking and food options too. Beds were a little uncomfortable but not enough to not stay again.
