Felt a bit strange not to see any other guests. Once we saw men watching us from window, while we were at the pool and then couple guests at the breakfast. And that’s all during 3 days. Service was great, room amenities, organic compliments, spa, room interior, jacuzzi at the private terrace... 2 things ruined whole impression: 1. Consultant and spa totally ignored my husband during first visit. Didn’t answer his questions and avoided any eye contact with him. Later manager explained, that most of the local couples come there for the “honey weekend” and are concentrated on satisfying newly made wife... ok, but we are not local and not on honeymoon) 2. Driver, who drove us to the airport, didn’t know the city at all. When he finally found right highway enter we asked him to stick to the fastest lane, but every kilometer he was again and again trying to drive slower. We were lucky to find that our flight was late for an hour. And even with that delay we were running through airport like crazy, nothing to say about duty free visit. Experience to remember, but not to repeat.

I almost do not want to share this review because I want the place to myself. Very few guests. Almost none during the week. If you want to feel like royalty then come in the week as you will feel like a king in your own palace. The hotel is clearly running at a loss! Which is good for you as you can experience such a fantastic place to yourself. They have the most amazing staff who are trained to the standards of a Michelin star restaurant. The restaurants are all great. Bring your own wine if you want to avoid a big drinks bill. Great place for couples who want a quiet retreat.

LOVE all of these!! a) Service & warmth of staffs Response time via email correspondences are very prompt. Service starts upon my car parked at the parking. I am flattered! Check In was a breeze. From the chauffeur / butler / front office desk to waiters... we were very pleased with the service level shown. b) Room We stayed at the Spa Suite with Outdoor Jacuzzi. Room is clean and tidy upon check in. Water pressure and temperature is good. Plush pillows and very comfortable bed. It has : 1 bathroom with a bathtub 1 separate shower room with a glass door and guess what? There's a third room with the toilet and sink with mirror! So.. if there are two or three person in the room, there will be no bathroom/ toilet problem at all as in who gets to go first.. :D Love the outdoor jacuzzi. Although the weather is a bit on the cool side but it's so nice to soak in a warm water outdoor! :) c) Dinner at L'assiette We enjoyed the food very much! COMPLIMENTS to the Chef! Service by the waiters were all awesome! The pianist plays very well and we get to enjoy our food with the sound of the piano.. Love it! Enough said, we will not hesitate to be back to The Chateau! Will try out their spa packages next time :) Keep up the great work The Chateau!

The entrance: - the staff at the entrance checked our booking confirmation and notify that our booking from expedia is confirmed. (I did my booking through Hotels.com, I thought it was just a small overlook but later it turned into a problem. I will come back to this issue later.) Check in: - From the beginning, the check in service is very personalised as the guests were escorted by a hotel staff to a bar and served a welcome organic drink juice. - after finishing the check in process, one of the staff, gave us a quick tour around chateau. - as we about to enter the room, I noticed in the payment receipt that the final price is 3950 MYR. On the other hand, my original hotels.com receipt is 3555 MYR. I told this issue to our escort staff Eu Yun and she promise to check and deal with this issue. - Remember the expedia issue earlier? It’s interesting to know that the hotel system recorded my booking came from expedia and 3950 MYR was “the final price” at their system. - Later on, I got a call from Eu Yuen. She just double-checked my booking and found that my complaint and my hotels.com booking is genuine. I give credit to Eu Yuen and Jennifer who humbly apologize, quick to response and quick to solve the issue. They helped to return 395MYR back to the credit card. Mistake did happened but how the staffs responded, deserve such an appreciation. The room: - it was huge. Basically there were a living room, a dining room, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms ( one ensuite). The room’s well-designed elegantly. Did I mention there is a television each in both bedrooms and one in living room? - the bathroom amenities are well provided. The hotel goes extra miles with high quality voya body care product. - the housekeeping come TWICE. The morning when we’re out for breakfast and the evening when we’re out for dinner. For some reason they always pick a best time to housekeeping the room. It was end of year event and when we came back, we’re spoiled by late supper desserts served on each bedroom. - The coffee machine inside our room turned out broken. It was early 6am morning and I wanted a cup of coffee. The machine flooded nearly the entire table and have to report another issue again on the front desk. The staff took and fixed the machine in no time. Problem solved - the bathroom sink is clogged and a bath time means flooding almost the entire bathroom floors. I did call the staff. They send engineers. They removed a big lump of hairy stuffs out. But somehow it didn’t stop the flooding. By this time, my family had enough of having hotel staff come and go inside our room because we really want to enjoy a good rest and private time inside our room. This issue remained unsolved until the day I checked out. Facilities: - One of the highlight of my trip is trying both the “dry”and the “wet” sauna rooms. - If you use a locker service at basement, the towel and soap/shampoo are provided. So you don’t need to bring one from the room. - self-service complimentary water bottle provided at the entrance of the gym. Foods: - Food haven for organic food eaters - Instead of having breakfast at La vie restaurant, we were directed to Lassiette Restaurant which is far more quiet and peaceful. Perhaps this is just for top tier room hotel guests. (Mine was two bedrooms, probably belongs to this category) - Breakfast served were both Malaysian and Western. - The French Fine Dining at Lassiete was truly the culinary highlight during our stay. Moving around Chateau: - Hotel guest enjoy complimentary ride to Colmar Tropicale, Japanese Garden, Rabbit farm and other attraction around the area. It’s easy to get transport from hotel, but for return ride, you have to call the hotel directly. That means you need to have Malaysian SIM Card. - The Colmar Tropicale is probably the only place within Chateau walking distance. Overall: - This is 5 star hotels with 5 star facilities and 5 star hospitality. However, some basic facilities really needs serious attention. Minor things such as broken coffee machine and flooding bathroom probably the last thing I would expect at 5 star hotels.

This place is definitely for those who wish to relax and to be away from the bustling town and noises.. this hotel is famous for its organic philosophy this from the towels, shampoo and etc is organic.i spent only a night here for my husband finds this place a bore unlike me I quite liked it because of its nature and cool temperature.. I visited their la sante spa..tried their signature seaweed body wrap and detox facial using seaweed..personally I don’t see any dramatic difference except my face was a slightly softer to touch.. besides that I didn’t feel any different..the therapist slippers were quite noisy thus would be prefer if they wore something much more quieter... I’m planning to try their signature body mud and also signature massage to complete my experience la sante . but do try their sauna and jacuzzi.the breakfast menu apparently the same daily..its complimentary... everything is fresh but would prefer if they could change it every 2-3 days for longer staying clients..any guest should definitely try their omelette and wanton soup...

The location is fabulous. Tranquility of atmosphere is priceless. Staff were very attentive and professional. High quality of breakfast and lunch. Spa and treatment is a must and you should try it if came so fat to Bukit tinggi. Very romantic design.

We visited the Chateau and stayed for a weekend. The Experience- The french themed castle on which the hotel is modelled looks inviting and magical right when you first see a glimpse of it from the winding roads up to the hill. We were received with a welcome drink followed by a personal guided tour of the whole property. By this tome you haven't even seen your room and fallen in love with the place. The rooms were impeccably clean and cozy. We had a great view from the room, but really we were in the mood to explore the place. The property is beautiful and relaxing with a great pool area and some of the most relaxing massages and spa treatments you can find. The food was nice, what stood out was the exceptional service at the restaurants, spa, pool area- everywhere. Right next to Chateau is Colmar, which has a vibrant crowd and activities if you are in the mood after a relaxing stroll in the gardens at the Chateau.

It's a lovely place to chill out and relax however I did encounter a few incidents during my stay. I spent 5 days at this resort recently. I had a piñata and a cake and was wondering if there was a space we could use to celebrate my sister's 50th birthday. My request was politely decline for fear that we might be too noisy and disrupt the other guests which I totally understand. So that night, all 10 of us squeezed into 1 of our rooms and we had a intimate celebration. No pinatas were harmed that night as my sister thinks its too cute to be broken. :) I think what was disappointing is the fact that i was not given any alternatives and the next day i got to know that there is actually an activity room where there's a pool table, board games, karaoke...basically a space for be noisy. There was also a miscommunication between reception, concierge and adventure park. It seems that reception is not aware that paintball is located away from the main adventure park. After numerous attempts to call the hotel, 3 leech bites and 2 bloody feet, I decided to walk back with a few of my family members while some of us hop into the paintball manager's car to get back to the hotel. The hotel transport did eventually arrive pick up my remaining family members after some us got back to tell them we were waiting at the paintball area not the main adventure park. Here's my general thought on the resort Pro 1. Rooms are spacious with mosquito net fitted on windows. You can enjoy the fresh cool air by leaving your windows open without having the fear of mosquitoes flying into your room. I slept through the nights with just the fan and windows open. 2. Enjoy free yoga session every morning. 3. Lot of spa packages for you to select from. Purchasing the spa package entitles you to use the jacuzzi. Alternatively use the sauna for free 4. There is a decent amount of food for you to choose from but not extensive. I like this fact because it only means there is less food wastage. Cons 1. Do not use the Karaoke room. The system is old and not user friendly. The room smells really musty, I had to leave the room because the stale air left a stingy sensation on my eyes and my nose were runny. 2. Adventure Park - you will need to pre-book it from the reception. You can't just walk in. The safety gear for paintball is minimal which consist of a vest and a mask that does not cover the neck. A little too bare for my liking. But perhaps, I'm just a scaredy cat. 3. Rooms are not very sound proof. During peak period, you'll probably wake up to door slamming as early as 7am. 4. For some weird reason, my room smells of toast every morning. I suspect there is a back flow in ventilation because it's coming from the toilet. This resort is ideal for those wanting an intimate holiday with their love ones. If you're travelling with a big groups, this might not be the resort for you.

My husband & I stayed at The Chateau for 3 days 2 nights to celebrate his post birthday. 2 wks b4 our arrival, I had liaised with the chateau to arrange for nice room deco, romantic candle light dinner & massage. Israel was very polite & professional in making the arrangements; from the complimentary birthday cake which was by right only 4 birthday on the day of arrival (hubby's birthday was the day b4 arrival) to the change in the dinner menu 😁 I was very pleased. When we arrived, we were welcomed by friendly porter & chateau's rep, Mark. We were further impressed by the check in process which was a wait at the lounge with refreshing welcome drinks from the bar. We were given personalised short tour of the chateau by Mark. Very impressive again. In the deluxe room, it felt so cosy. The swan towels were pretty & the cake was nice! And the beds, pillows, blankets, they were plush & whole room was so clean! We had the couples massage & myself a detox facial & the therapists were very skilful. We felt so relax! I could only identify my therapist, Vanessa, but credits should be given to the entire spa staff for the pleasant spa experience. And the steam & sauna rooms were amazing!! Our dinner was done amazingly fabulous by the chateau's french chef 😋 and francis, our butler, was one of the friendliest persons we ever met. Thank you for being a great chap, Francis! Surprises after surprises we got during our short stay. We were given complimentart desserts & our last day's breakfast was at belle vue & we were served personally instead of the usual breakfast buffet. And Francis was there haha so our experience was made better! Oh credits to in-room dining too!! We love your foods!! In all, we love your chateau & so looking fwd to try your spa suite with jacuzzi. Please welcome us like you've had 😊Lurve, guests from room 305 😍

Located next to Colmar but with better view, privacy and security. Check in was quick. We were ushered to the VIP room while they sorted out our rooms. Only problem was I did feel that they were trying to hard sell the Suites a little. They suggested that we upgrade to the 3-room Suites for a few thousand ringgit more. We decided not to as the extra cash could be put to better use. Rooms are nice and comfortable. View of the forest or swimming pool was fantastic. Games room are in need of a clean up or repair. The air in the karaoke room was musky. Some of us couldn't stay for long cos of the bad ventilation. Food was ok. Choices were a bit limited though. But then you shouldn't be overeating here since healthy eating is encouraged. Swimming pool is not heated so be prepared for the cold! Service is excellent and prompt. You hardly have to wait and it is always personalised. Unless you are ok to just rest and relax at the resort, there is nothing much to do at Bukit Tinggi. The rabbit farms, Japanese garden, adventure park are all nearby and shuttle transport can be arranged if you give them 15 to 30 mins advance notice. Some of the tourist spots are in need of a major overhaul or change in management. It's look and feel or the way it is organised doesn't really match a 5-star activity. If you are just looking for a place to rest and relax, read a book, go for spa, this is just the place.
