Stayed only a night for a business trip. It was obvious on arrival that building was dated. There are obvious signs of wear esp at the reception counter. Check-in process was relatively slow but the staff were friendly and accommodating. Pre-paid for the room so it was disappointing that the complementary breakfast that was part of the pre-paid package was not recorded, resulting in the need for my colleague who arrived a day earlier to have to pay for his breakfast. The error was acknowledged but the refund took a while to be released. I had a room on the 10 floor of what I believe to be the newer wing. This is based on the lifts that I took in the 2 blocks where the one serving my room was newer and moved much faster. The room was of a good size and very up to date. Modern furnishing with comfortable bed (I had the king sized bed). I love their pillows which were longer and could double up as boasters if need be. The toilet didnt have a bath tub but the rain shower was the best I've had i a long while, heavy flow and very refreshing....but the hot water took quite a while to flow to the tap. I dont usually use hot water so it didnt bother me but if it did, then lots of water would have been wasted to get the hot water to the tap. The room was also equipped with a complimentary Handy Handphone which would have allowed me to use it for local calls and access to the internet when I'm on the move including when out of the hotel. Unfortunately, the last user was probaby from the middle east as the language was in Arabic and I could not figure how to change it to English. There was complimentary wi-fi which worked well. The breakfast at the hotel was slightly above par. Decent spread with more focus on local food. If you dont want to eat at the hotel, there are food places within 10min walk from the hotel and within 20-30min there is a relatively good sized shopping mall (Subang Parade and Aeon Big). Overall, would not mind staying here again should the need arise.
We spent a couple of nights at the dorsett to visit eith friends in the area. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Nice toilet. Ask for a room in the new wing, as some of the older rooms can be musty. The breakfast buffet was ok, but pretty much the same both days. Dinner buffet, was great. The satay and roast meats were flavourful abd the lamb yummy.
I stayed at this hotel for a week during a wedding in March 2018. Most of the wedding party was staying at the hotel as we had hired the banqueting hall attached. Long story short. I was waiting in the lobby and sitting in a chair when my wallet slipped out of my pocket as I moved seats. A member of staff went to rearrange the seats and nobody else came to sit in the area. As I got up, I realised the wallet had gone missing, I check the area several times and immediately alerted the hotel staff including security. I filled out an incident form and asked them to immediately look at the CCTV footage as a member of staff had picked up the wallet. An hour went by as I waited and security told me they had seen something but not giving details and walked off. I alerted the general manager and told him I know that member of staff had picked it up and I wanted it back. 2 hours went by during which time the security and manager went in and out of the office. They refused to let me see the footage of which I was subject of. They refused to give me the details to the nearest police station. They advised me to go to the wedding dinner. On returning the wallet had miraculously turned up when the day staff left and the night manager claimed the wallet was found on the seat. The seat which I checked 4 time and with the manager watching and searching with me. This was an obvious an elaborate cover up as they knew I had caught them. They did not want to admit a member of staff had taken it and not handed it in! I would like a member of the Dorsett hotels management group to contact me and discuss as the General Manager isn't even to be trusted!!!!
I had a long business stay planed. I arrived to the hotel, it was fully booked, at check in I was “upgraded” to a suite. - watch for smoker rooms, in Malaysia smoking in public places is allowed, and I got a smoker room - The room was big, but old, dark and with a terrible smell. Next morning I requested a different room, but all was booked, I then decided I had to change hotels and I booked in a different one. Next afternoon after a long wait they changed my room. I moved to the new tower, no smoker floor. It felt like a different hotel! The room was very comfortable, with a city view, modern design... I was satisfied with the new room. Meals are ok, not great. Room breakfast I found good, well served and on time. I would only recommend if you can get a room in the new section, otherwise look for a different place to stay.
Chose this hotel because it's next to SJMC. Definitely comfortable & convenient. Good pricing via expedia.com. RM 270 per night inclusive breakfast for two. Old hotel but clean. My kid just loved the handy phone in the room because she can watch you tube. Reasonable size swimming pool. Good food during breakfast. We had peaceful night sleep. Great choice !
Stayed for 4 nights. Limited breakfast menu in buffet . Had a bad night with noise coming from the ac ducts. Slow service at business centre . Bar at the ground floor is good. Location is good from business centre.
Stayed at Dorsett Grand Subang with my family during the recent school term break for 3 nights because of its proximity to the Sunway Lagoon. The first impression was not impressive. First of all, the parking. It was confusing for the first-timer to the hotel that the car park is actually outside the hotel at the open car park closer to the building next door. As the carpark is a public carpark and managed by the external vendor, the arrangement is, the guests will have to pay first, get the receipt and claim from the counter during check-out. And the entrance fee is by 'per entry' basis, so imagine you may have a few tickets after a few day stay at the hotel. Next, the "4.5 star" hotel. The lobby was dull, the staffs at the check-ins were poorly trained and did not exhibit a welcoming look. The chairs at the lobby were poor and dirty with stains. When we finally got our room at 5.30pm, we were given a room at the 'hidden' part of the hotel at the floor "2" which is actually at the same level as the lobby. We needed to enter through an old wooden door after looking for a while and asking the concierge. The passageway to the door was smelly and it was the same in the room with the old carpet! Everything was so old, the table, the chair, the bathroom. And worst, there was no bath towels in the room and we had to ask for them! We could not have imagined this is what we got from a claimed 4.5 star hotel! Next the breakfast. Sure there were some variety. But it was not a 4.5 star standard that you would expect. The orange juice was not fresh juice but made from flavoring powder. The two coffee machines' baskets for used coffee powder were full but nobody cared. The food quality was poor. The hotel was kind to arrange for shuttle services to the major shopping malls like the Sunway Pyramid, KLCC, etc. However on the day when we booked the shuttle to Sunway Pyramid, the van came 15mins late. Then the next time when we booked to KLCC, the hotel transport was supposed to pick us up at 9pm but they were no where to be seen at 9pm. When I called up the concierge, at which I was given the phone number in the morning, for two times nobody picked up the calls. Then I called up the hotel reception and complained the problem and told them that the concierge did not pick up calls, the receptions still transferred my calls to the concierge for two more times! My fifth calls finally got the reception understood and eventually found somebody that I could talk to, at 9.30pm, and I was told to WAIT FOR 30MINS for them to arrive! I was really mad and told them that I was not going to wait as I have a young child with me and everybody was tired, and we were going to call a GRAB back to hotel and was going to claim the charges from the hotel (which I eventually did get it). All in all, I am not sure why this hotel is still labelled as a 4.5 star hotel. The authority should downgrade it to a maximum 3 star hotel. The hotel really needs a lot of improvement, and refurbishment.
My father was admitted to SJMC and wasn't in good condition today so my family & I were planning to grab our dinner at SJMC before visiting him but all restaurants were closed due to the recent water disruption so we had to have our dinner at you hotel's Terazza Brasserie. My mum was really worried about my dad so she asked the lady restaurant manager if it'd take long to prepare her chicken rice & she was told that it might take a bit long because the chefs were busy preparing for the room service. Nevertheless, the restaurant manager took the initiative to rush our orders which we were really grateful for even though we didn't tell her why we were in a hurry. In addition, i was very surprised that your Char Kuey Tiow had the "wok essence" that could only be found at hawker stalls. Plus, the portion was very big. Thank you for providing us such wonderful service and food at your hotel.
Receiptionist named pandora was not friendly. I called and inform no last room for me but they still assigned me to the last room when i check in. Room rate is different booking via agoda and website. I book thru their official website with higher rate with no breakfast while agoda is offering lower rate with breakfast provided. The room is totally different with what they show in their website, seriously room need to improve, shower room floor is full with stain, toilet bowl is yellowish, bed is old and the leather is peeling. Everything is just not right! No more 2nd check in to this hotel.
Staying in this hotel at least a day on monthly basis. Just check out on 7th mar 2018 from room 1469. Was assigned room without bath towel and only realize in the morning n a shower which water does not flow fast enough to the drainage. Got the bathroom flooded n wet the floor. Shampoo n shower gel still always at 50% filled max even after feedback.
