This property is super awesome for the following reasons 1. Room size is very good and cleanliness / hygiene across resort is very good 2. The location is very good and Ao Nang beach and other amenities are just walking distance. 3. The resort team is extremely courteous in resolving all questions and always helpful. 4. The swimming pools are just super clean and large in size. 5. Wifi connectivity across resort is very good. Being vegetarian, I felt there was extremely limited choice of food for the breakfast and perhaps that could be an area of improvement. Overall, memorable stay and would recommend to everyone.
Our second visit @ Krabi La Playa Resort. We had a nice stay with friendly helpful staff. Breakfast is good. Not far from the beach. We arranged transport via the Resort (800baht one way/4 pers.). Driver was on time to fetch us. Pim, Singapore
We were happy with the location of the hotel - it's was a few minutes walk to the main strip at Ao Nang so there were plenty of restaurants around, a close beach and access to all the boat trips etc. The staff we spoke to were pleasant and helpful. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice enough. The breakfast was extensive and had nice food. The room was a good size. However the room was really not a good standard and I don't think it deserves to be 4 star. The room in general was grubby and much in need of an overhaul. There were multiple small things such as patches on the walls and ceiling, a broken door screen to the balcony, bathroom fixings coming away from the wall, grotty tiles etc. The towels were of poor quality and looked very worn, with holes and stringy bits hanging off etc. Then there were specific things such as the water from the sink tap turning brown one day. The shower went from cold to burning hot throughout the shower every use so you had to keep jumping out of the water to stop from being scolded. The hotel was noisy and we struggled to get to sleep most nights. The wifi was very bad in our room which normally wouldn't bother me that much but we were using the internet to find restaurants, research trips etc so this was really frustrating. The cleanliness of the room was bad. I don't think the rooms were cleaned properly. You could see a thick layer of dust on the furniture in the room. I washed some clothes in the sink one night and it left some marks on the sink, these were still there the next day so the sink obviously hadn't been cleaned. And on the bedside table we found the previous guest's completed questionnaire sheet! All these things lead me to believe the rooms weren't being cleaned thoroughly which bothers me. I don't have particularly high standards for a hotel room as I don't intend to spend much time in the hotel when I'm in an amazing place like Thailand. My expectations are that the room is clean, I have somewhere to sleep and somewhere to wash. While we managed to get most of these things at La Playa, it's not worth the 4 star rating. Also if you are wanting laundry done, don't use the expensive hotel service. There is a great laundry place at the corner, about 20 seconds from the front door which did a great next day service.
We’ve stayed for 2 nights in this hotel and I can’t advise you to stay there because of the situations that I will comment to you bellow. After arriving here and making our check in we went to our room. When we entered in the room, immediately we noticed that it hadn’t been cleaned. For example, the bathroom had the mirror all dirty with stains of water and the bed had the pillows and the bed sheets all crumpled. They just made the bed but when we approached to it we’ve seen that the pillows were all dirty of women make up and when we opened the bed it was all crumpled and with signs of use. When we saw this we went straight to the reception to report the situation. There we’ve asked if they could change us to another cleaned room. The answer was absurd. They didn’t believe our words and always assured that the room was cleaned and that they couldn’t give us another room. When I’ve started to get upset with the situation I insisted to get a cleaned room and then they said that they didn’t have more Deluxe rooms only the standard ones. But as I had already paid the room I said that I just could accept a similar room. So the solution was to send some cleaning staff to make up the room. We were very tired from our trip till the hotel and so we had to come back again to that room, wait for the cleaning staff and when they arrived, wait again for them to finish the job. What we’ve got with this was just the bed changed and the bathroom cleaned because I’ve insisted on it. But the floor they didn’t sweep or washed it. Worse than this was seeing those men’s faces, looking at us as they were making us a favor. I travel a lot and I never had a situation like this one. For me the cleanness and service of a hotel are major points of satisfaction so this was unacceptable. Not just the situation but also the way they’ve deal with it. Also when we’ve made the check out there were three persons attending clients in the reception area and the one that was attending us, left the service that was doing to go to talk with other client. In my opinion they are totally unfocused and also not client oriented. Besides this we’ve hired directly in the hotel a transfer to take us to the airport and in our check out day and they forgot it. I had to complain after 10 minutes of delay and when they noticed the big error that they had done, they’ve hired a particular one to take us but despite this we left with 30 minutes of delay. The only thing I’ve liked in this hotel was the location, the pools and the food in the restaurant by night.
Please note they do not provide free airport transfers (660baht). Travel time from krabi airport is 40mins approx. Taking a minivan directly booked at the airport costs 150baht per person but travel time is 1.5h and u gotta worry about whether other tourists will take your luggage when they alight before you. Thought I should say this first because its what I always looked for when I book accomodations. This place is excellent! It was so worth the price with the rooms it provided. We had the room facing the trees with the emerald pool on the side. Our room also had a balcony and a big clean bathtub. The location was good, less than 5 mins walk to massage corner (mmm...good), and its 10mins walk to aonang beach and the row of shops. The staff were amiable and helpful. Once we asked for our room to be cleared at 5pm and they very nicely helped. Fresh set of towels everyday, bed made, toilet rolls filled, and floors swept. So cleanliness is evident. Cups are empitied and rinsed. They do not wash bath towels and beach towels together so you can be sure of hygiene. However they do not have toothbrushes so please bring your own. Also they do not clear/arrange your tables which is good I guess so you do not misplace your things. All in all, super worth it for 70sgd/night including taxes. The clean modern room, coupled with clean bathtub and a good audio player is really more than we can ask for. The only gripe is the breakfast which remains mostly the same every single day. It almost becomes a chore to eat breakfast. But rest assured that eggs and milk are offered everyday. You could also make your own yoghurt mix with oats and fruit cubes.
We stayed here for 5 nights in May and this was our first time in Thailand so we weren't sure what to expect. The hotel is small but friendly. No air con in reception or restaurant but we didn't find this to be a problem. Room was fine, a little tired and I'm not sure the maid cleaned in the 5 days we were there but the room was made up every day. Breakfast was ok but could be better. Also the pool needs some renovation on the tiles but happy hour every afternoon was good. I'd go here again because the location is really good for the main strip of bars and restaurants. There is a small street food market out on the main road opposite the street to get to the hotel which is well worth a lunch visit. We did that one day and the food was amazing. Also worth going to the night market in Krabi town which is around 30 mins away and we paid 900baht round trip. Please see my other reviews for restaurants to visit.
Firstly its definitely not the best hotel I've stayed at in Thailand , however the rooms are well appointed and quite spacious and the hotel is just a few minutes walk from the seafront. the staff are pleasant enough and when my wife needed a dentist they went out of their way to ring around and get her an appointment in nearby Krabi town. Overall I would happily stay there again.
The hotel was a lot better than I expected, especially at the price. The rooms are very big and well appointed, a huge shower with hot water and great water pressure. One of our rooms was upgraded to a poolside room which was fantastic. It was like having your own private pool. The room was serviced every day with fresh towels available for personal and pool/beach use. It's a great location and easy walking distance to both beaches. Staff were generally vey friendly and helpful (with the exception of one on reception - but that was obviously her problem and we didn't let that affect us). Breakfast was good, very much the same over 6 mornings but more choices than what I have at home! Activities lady was fantastic - got us some great deals. There's plenty of small laundry's near the hotel which is cheaper than using hotel. Overall, I would return here and definitely recommend to others. Only downside was the bed was VERY hard and I requested a mattress topper, but this didn't really help.
First of all, upon our arrival, two reception girls smile( no smile at all) and joy looks very busy and no time to attend us. After showing booking id, surprisingly charged additional fees for my kid. However shown on the booking receipt, there is foc for kid from2-11. Questioned, no explanation. All I can do to pay extra, nevertheless my kid tired. I don't have warm ,welcome feeling even professional from such hotel. All matters to money. Such bad experiences
I book thru TripAdvisor a few mths back. Early bird with a disc, which is great for deluxe premium. Its a very thoughtful hotel, they provide a beach bag to us consist of towels and a beach floor mat. They even have a torchlight, 2 umbrella for us to use! (Not too sure whether all other hotel provide this service) The room is very clean, new and huge, like the photo in their website. The water pressure in the bathtub, shower and sink is good with hot water. Aircon is good too. The staff and service not bad. The only thing not very good is the TV receptions is not good, after changing the settings, still cannot watch a good movie in the tv provided channels! The floor is quite slippery because very humid weather, I guess... the hotel is accessible thru a small lane whereby no streetlights, I guess that is why the need for a torchlight. So must be really careful when walking out to Ao Nang Beach. Not much varieties of food for breakfast, but their taste not bad! Overall, we enjoy our stay, food and nice service. Thanks
