The location of the hotel is very near to Aonang beach which is around 1 kms away. The main street near the hotel has series of shopping and eating outlets. Staff is very friendly and complacent. Though they are not fluent in English they understand and respond to guest needs accordingly. The highlight of the hotel is the amazing pool which is parted into two sections. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Though some parts of the hotel was under maintenance that didn't hamper our stay.

We spent 5 nights here and it was alright. The hotel was under construction. The noises were disturbing the peace. They were repainting some parts and that caused an unpleasant smell. Our room was not finished cleaning when we changed rooms. Another time our essentials like towels and toiletpaper were not restocked. The breakfast was absolutely horrible, not many choices. And the door to our balcony would not close properly, but we had to use some force. However, we did sleep well, shower was nice and the staff was very friendly.

Just got back from a 2 week stay at Krabi La Playa and was not disappointed. Some reviewers have commented on the breakfast, we found it ok - yes on the face of it there seems a good selection which by and large it is, but the hot selection is quite limited from a European perspective although I did enjoy the egg station but even this I found a bit off-putting with the amount of oil they use. The rooms are quite spacious and clean (we had a pool view room on the 4th floor which was quite nice). Staff are really courteous and helpful - not sure about some of the comments on here that contradict this as this was certainly not our experience. Big thanks to the lady who organises the trips (sorry I did not get your name), we could not find anyone cheaper anywhere in the area and she always gave good advice on where to go. Overall a really good hotel for the price and I would definitely return - the only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because of the breakfast and also because I emailed the hotel 5 times before coming to ensure our request for a double room which went unanswered and lo and behold, when we arrived both our rooms were twin rooms so we ended up pushing the beds together which is not ideal.

We stayed here for the start of our honeymoon and we got upgraded to a superior room with our travel operator. The room was great, air con good and we had a nice balcony but had no view which was the only bad thing. The location in so nang was good and you didn't have to walk far before being in where all the restaurants are, 10 minutes. The main pool was good, the poolside cocktails could be improved! Alcoholic slush puppies. But nice atmosphere around the pool. The breakfast buffet is very tasty with lots of choice. The travel operator located within the hotel is very good and we booked koh phi phi and a 4 island tour through them. Rai lay is easily reachable by long tail boat from the sea front for 100 baht per person each way. Try to go when it's not raining as we couldn't access the view point there as was too muddy to climb up! Overall a lovely stay at krabi la playa.

First impressions of the entrance weren't amazing but the room seemed OK - until we looked a bit closer. It was obvious that the floor hadn't been cleaned properly in a good while as there were streaks of dirt and dust all over. The extra bed for my son was as hard as concrete and he ended up sleeping on the couch in the room instead. We spent some time at the pool, which on the pictures looked great, but unfortunately the sunbeds had mildew on them, smelled very damp and the pool tiles were filthy. There were patches that had been replaced and the grout was white but the remainder weren't great. The Emerald Pool on the other hand was clean and tidier. The breakfast buffet left a lot to be desired - the hot coffee tasted like a whole pile of nescafe in a jug instead of the freshly brewed variety. Having said that the fried eggs were lovely. I really wanted to enjoy our family stay here as we had booked 4 nights as part of our holiday in Thailand, but we ended up leaving a day early and spending our money on an extra night in the Mandarava Hotel in Karon Beach (which is excellent, another review coming shortly).

I recently spent 12 days at this hotel. I enjoyed my time there, room was clean and spacious. Breakfast buffet was nice a good choice from Western and Asian dishes. I never really sampled any other food from they're restaurant as there were plenty of other restaurants close by in Ao Nang.Hotel had 2 nice swimming pools which i used most days. I cant remember the girls name who deals with trips and tours but she was very helpful and good at her job. My only complaint if it can register as one was my room was on the 3rd floor and a wee bit of a walk from lift. Staff were nice and friendly again not a complaint but i found it frustrating at times when my English was not been understood maybe my thick Glaswegian didn't help but this is not a criticism of staff i just found it frustrating when i could only talk to certain members of staff who spoke good English. I would use this hotel again without any hesitation

Stayed for 5 nights recently and absolutely loved the place. A very nice touch is the towel bag for the pool as well as the umbrellas left in each closet (you will need an umbrella this time of year) for use in town. A very easy walk down the street to Ao Nang and the night life. The breakfast buffet was great but beat the crowd, its packed by 730 every day and stays full until about 930. It would really help if the "line" had a sign telling folks which way to travel the buffet as many cut in front and don't realize what they are doing. The prices in the mini bar aren't bad at all, although the 7-11 about 100 yards away has the same items at 1/3 the cost. My only concern really is the slow pace of the bartenders (I know, that sounds bad to complain about) but when happy hour is just an hour and In that time you are lucky to get one refill, that's too slow. I will for sure be back, I loved the pace and really couldn't believe the price was going to be so low for such a nice room and hotel. The A/C unit works just fine!!

Four of us (two couples) stayed for 13 nights. As requested we were allocated adjoining rooms on the fourth floor overlooking the main pool. The rooms were modern, spacious and well equipped. The aircon was a real blessing and worked well. Tea, coffee and water was provided each day, as were clean beach towels & bathroom towels. There is an ample supply of toiletries in the large bathroom which had a bath & walk in shower. Hot water was plentiful & the shower efficient. Cleaning and regular changing of bedding was very good. The lifts were fast and we never had to queue for one. The staff were all very helpful, polite and cheerful. Breakfast consisted of cereals, toast, jams, eggs (fried, scrambled, omelettes or boiled), a salad bar, pastries, cakes, Asian food, sausage, fried potatoes, grilled tomatoes, a noodle soup etc etc - so we never went hungry! The large pool was cleaned daily and some repairs had been carried out to the tiles since our last visit in October 2016. Sunbeds & sun umbrellas were plentiful. The gardens are nicely planted and well kept. The wifi was excellent in the room, throughout the hotel, poolside & the hotel grounds. Just a couple of recommendations: I was silly enough to lock myself out of our room on two occasions and, although the staff were incredibly helpful in providing me with a replacement key, I wasn't asked for my name or any other identifying information, simply my room number so they could program another key. This raises the possibility of people gaining entry to rooms which aren't theirs - leaving guests open to theft or even personal attack. The second recommendation would be for a bar to be open in the evenings - we missed our nightcap before retiring for the night! We ate out every evening - our favourites were Kodam Kitchen (just a few minutes walk along the same lane as the hotel), Massaman (near McDonalds up the hill), Jungle Kitchen (a B50 Tuk Tuk ride away past McDonalds) and Green Pepper & Feel Good (both via the back path near the pool). All in all we had a lovely stay and wouldn't hesitate to visit Krabi La Playa again. It was tremendous value and offered everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.

We stayed here on a family holiday in a 2 bedroom apartment. We asked for a quiet room and duly got it looking out over one of 2 pools, the emerald pool. The accommodation was spacious and clean with high quality daily room service. We liked the thoughtful touches such as the umbrellas and beach bag with mats and towels provided in the room. Our balcony looked out over the green of a hillside jungle with large lounges to relax on. Both pools were large with plenty of lounges to relax on. We enjoyed the pool bar cocktail happy hour. Breakfast was generous and provided a very wide variety of options. This resort is well located between the two beaches with quick and easy access to both and lots of shops and restaurants within a short walk. All in all a good choice for a family holiday.

My wife and I have just spent 8 nights at Krabi La Playa Resort. The resort is very well looked after and staff are very helpful. Beautiful swimming pools and a swim up bar. About a 10 minute walk to the main Auo Nang beach over rough pavements so a bit of a trek if you are not sprightly. But as it's out of the way it is very quiet and peaceful. Plenty of choice at breakfast and an egg station where they will make you omelettes, fried or scrambled to order. We dined in the restaurant a couple of times in the evening, whilst the food was OK there is plenty of better places to eat cheaply in the local area. We had a room on the fifth floor which was very spacious and well appointed. It had great views over the bay and distant mountains and islands. Lady in reception who books the tours for you is also very helpful. We went on several and were good value for money. Only a couple of minor negative points. WiFi in rooms is a bit hit and miss and you have to constantly log back in even when you tick the remember me button. Aircon in rooms doesn't seem to get very cool even when on full, and a bit of a trek down to Auo nang Beach in the heat. If I visited again I would book a Hotel closer to the beach, but that is just my preference. Overall an enjoyable stay and excellent value for money. Would highly recommend.
