Great experience for family vacation. Clean and beautiful room. Helpful staff especially at the restaurant. Recommend this hotel to others and would like to stay there again for my next trip to Kota Kinabalu. This hotel elevates my overall experience with Le Meridien group of hotels.
My husband and I came to KK for a few days. We stayed at Le Meridien for 2 nights. The hotel is situated in the midst of the local eateries, especially the seafood market. Our room is on the Executive Floor facing the South China Sea and the view is picturesque. The room is very spaceous with roof-to-floor windows. One minor observation is that the lack of a cosmetic mirror in the bathroom may cause inconvenience to some guests. The shower is good and powerful, the bed is comfortable but it may be too soft for people with back pain. Breakfast is good with a wide selection of food, the environment of Latitue 05 is comfortable too. We had no chance to try the Executive Lounge this time as it was under refurbishment during our stay. A separate issue has nothing to do with the hotel. It’s about the transportation in KK in general. No meter is used by any taxi driver; it would be cheaper to get an Uber to travel within KK as a normal range of distance would easily cost up to RM20-30 per trip.
Chef Ghani went out of the way to accommodate my request for something vegetarian without cheese! Ms Diana, ever cheerful and smiling is an asset for any hotel! Kamarul made some exquisite art work on top of our coffees! People and service truly make a travellers experience one to remember! I would recommend this hotel to all travellers. We had a room on the 10th floor. Our room was recently renovated, very comfortable, elegant and full of sunshine!
Shopping malls nearby and walking distance. Handicraft market right in front of hotel very convenient for shopping. Reception staff are all friendly and assisted my needs. Clean room with nice sea view. Breakfast was amazing! Variety selection of food comparing to other hotels! Great food offerings! Restaurant staff Mr Fuddin was very friendly and attentive. Great service from him and he is very entertaining! The bar staff Carol and Mimi also very friendly. Great cocktails from them! Will definitely visit Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu in the future!
Conveniently located in the heart of KK that gives you easy access to major points of interest in the city including night market across the street, Sunday market and major restaurants that are all in walking distance.view from rooms that face the street/ water is charming and you don't hear all the activities out there. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable! Staff are AMAZING from management, check in staff to (especially) the concierge staff who booked all our excursions. We were in touch with them before arrival and they had a good understanding of what we wanted and put together great plans. Breakfast was great and had good variety. Sad thing was that we had early AM tours/ flights and couldn't eat every day!
This is a beautiful luxurious hotel that is positioned right in the heart of the city. There are street markets selling local produce, cooked dishes, high and low-end malls and access to fabulous day trips from this hotel. The staff was super friendly and courteous at all times. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation if you're lucky enough to visit the fascinating region of KK in Malaysia.
Firstly the positives: Good customer service. club check-in process was smooth again met with courteous and professional hotel staffs. Ocean view from hotel room is fantastic. Negatives: sound insulation in the room was poor especially between walls, front door, and the bathroom wall. Strains of hair found in fresh towel. Breakfast was below my expectation for a 5 stars hotel. On each breakfast occasion, no offering of tea/coffee from any of the staff until being asked for. Location of self service tea/coffee machines were not obvious and both were placed at the corner near the used cutlery collection points so not sure they were meant for self service. Location wise, centrally located next to market (be cautious about personal belongings), next to Centre Point mall, and 30 minutes walk to another more modern Imago mall. Also be mindful of KK's traffic congestion.
Staff members were excellent....customer service was excellent starting from front desk to room cleaner.........Dinning area service was excellent all the staff was very efficient and helpful. I can remember few names who had a smile on their face and very friendly (1) Mr. Syarifuddin.B (2) Mohd. (3) Mimi and the best person was the manager on the floor Mr. Suresh Ramasamy - very understanding, friendly, helpful. We had a best time ever staying.
The Meridien is located in an urban setting in the center of KK, providing easy access to its surroundings. KK itself is rather charmless, compared to Kuching. Renovated rooms are nice and modern with a beautiful seaview. The swimming pool is decent, but the changing room would benefit from An update and better maintenance. Breakfast is ok for a hotel of this class (no thrill but what one would expect). The italian restaurant has very nice steaks. View from the lounge is stunning in the evening. Altogether a reasonably good choice to stay with a family.
Nice rooms and spacious ..amenities are good ..cleanliness was good .. Breakfast was amazing , lots of choices .. the croissants were freshly made in the last ve station oven ..we have asked James ,our breakfast server , to take some with us and he was just amazing , he gave us a small paper bag pack for us a couple of those delightful croissant..thanks James as well for organizing a hot Milo for my little one :) she loved it .. the pool is nice with beautiful view of kk islands..reception team is very helpful as well as the bell men .. The only down was the Bar in the lobby ,really empty ...there was hardly any guest there ..the hotel should invest in some good entertainment, just a thought ! Nothing else to comment .. Overall , it’s was great stay , given the chance , will stay at Le Meredien again , although, lots of nice condos open up for Airbnb booking with more space and nice amenities , but of course staying in a hotel is always more cozy , safe and secured . Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who like modern and quality in addition being in the heart of the city
