Andalay Beach Resort Koh Libong3.5 out of 5.0

I decided to travel to Koh Libong to escape the crowds of Krabi, and I wasn’t disappointed. The island is beautiful, with no cars, and a very unspoilt landscape. Andalay was one of the more expensive choices on the Island, but it was worth every penny. From the start, the staff were so welcoming and attentive, genuinely friendly and with good English. The room was beautiful - we had a seafront Oriental Villa, however we would have been equally happy paying less for one of the villas further back as some of them have a partial sea view anyway. There are two pools, the one on the beachfront was stunning and busier but not too busy - it would be great if the staff came and offered to take drink orders once in a while. We borrowed bicycles free of charge and spent the day cycling around, although rather than cycle back up the hill we took a longtail back round the island to drop us directly on the beach outside the resort, which was a lovely journey. The only let down was the food, it wasn’t cheap and was very low quality the few times we ate there. The breakfast buffet was very uninspired. The staff, however, did give us excellent recommendations for local fresh seafood at a homestay nearby where we ate an absolute feast including fresh lobster for very little money (pictured) I would definitely return.
This resort is Fantastic.. the staff are brilliant, the food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is relaxing. From the moment we arrived, we had a pleasant relaxing stay. The Villa, we had no 9, was very spacious and clean, and well looked after. We decided not to venture out of the resort, as we were just there for 3 days, and after testing the food on our first day, we ate every meal here. we had a different Thai meal every lunch and evening, and all the selections were very tasty and so authentic. Again, the restaurant staff were helpful. Khun Nee was great, she always asking after us and discussing the daily events - very friendly and helpful. The beach is clean, and the water great for snorkling, although when the tide is out, its not very deep, so have to go a little further out to enjoy it. it was very quiet, and great not to be bothered by people trying to sell things. we booked the private hotel shuttle between the airport and the resort, and although a little more expensive than sharing, it was efficient, well run and had no delays. One little tip, would be take some cash with you, as on our arrival and departure, the visa card machines would not accept my Thai bank cards, even though they all had sufficient funds available, this was the money to cover the taxi rides. Would definitely visit again, just need to get some more vacation time .. Thanks everyone at the resort.
We spent some of our honeymoon at Anderlay. From the start the staff are so friendly and helpful. We received a welcome drinks. We were quickly shown to our beach view bungalow which was clean, spacious and lovely. The food was amazing and not expensive like other places we stayed in Thailand. The only work they need to do is to create a proper pizza. We ordered one each and the base was more like a biscuit. The breakfast choice is extensive and you can get fresh pancakes and omelettes cooked for you. The service was outstanding. Everyone is incredibly friendly. There are two pools which is great if you want a bit of quietness. The beach is lovely and you can hire (no cost) a canoe or snorkle mask. I would highly recommend booking with Anderlay, you wont be disappointed The service
We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was beautiful and very clean. The staff were very helpful, friendly and kind. The hotel's restaurant served tasty lunch and dinner. The breakfast had everything we wanted and it was well organised. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the tide, as the water level bu the hotel's beach got very low during times of the day and it wasn't possible to swim as the sand was full of big rocks/corals. We would especially want to thank Yao that worked in the restaurant as we have never met a more service mindes person. Definately the right person for the job! Many thanks to Andalay Beach Resort for a lovely stay.
A little paradise! If you are looking for a peaceful holiday, far from the crowds, this might be the place for you. We stayed in the Oriental Villa (beach front) and we loved it. The resort is small (only 33 rooms) so it’s never crowded. The food is very good and not so expensive as you would expect in a resort like this, so we didn’t bother to search for any other restaurants.
We spent Christmas here with friends and our 3 kids. It was a spectacular week with fantastic food, lots of pool and beach time, a lovely day finding dugongs and remote beaches, and another day riding a moped around the island exploring. The food and drinks were great, and best of all was the friendly and helpful staff! They made sure everything we needed was taken care of, we're wonderful with the kids, and that our holidays were very memorable! It's on my list of places to return!

We were here for 4 nights as our last stop. We stayed in a oriental deluxe villa with great space and very nice decor. The surroundings of the resort is very nice as well just by the Beach. Compared to other Islands the beach is really affected by the tides making is almost impossible to swim during the early afternoon as you will walk into rocks and corals. But then you have two swimmingpools to enjoy. I believe the resort has the best restaurant in that area and was very cosy to dine in. The reason for not giving it a 5 star rating is the personnals lack of english and general communication skills resulting in many misunderstandings and daily mistakes on the restaurant bill.
Great place, great people, great all over. The staff are super nice and kind (as in most places in Thailand). The rooms feel new and very well kept. There are two pools, one near the beach and a bigger one in the "garden". We had a garden Villa, which was great, the ocean front villas are off course more attractive, however ocean front villas are not quite 'on' the beach - but of course they have the fantastic view. Villas 7 and 8 (garden) are connected if you're traveling more people together and need two connected rooms. Not so great if you're not, but not too bad though (unless you have very inconsiderate neighbours with Bluetooth speakers...!!!) We have a small boy and a baby with us and had a great day. The restaurant is very good (we only ate Thai food though), staff is amazing, cocktails are great though about 180 bath. The island is Muslim so you can't buy alcohol in the shop etc. Also no ATM on the island. The hotel has a small shop where you can buy cheap(er) water, beer cans (same rate as in the restaurant though), snacks, some toys etc, but there is also a supermarket really near by. Breakfast is great with an egg station and a pancake station! The beach has 3 resorts, Andalay is the last, so the beach is pretty much only visited by the hotel guests. At low tide the water is mostly rocks with small pools around, making it a great and fun place to walk and study a myriad of crabs, different sizes and colors. At high tide you can swim and longtail boats can swim into the beach. The hotel has bikes, canoes, longtail boat etc for rent. Massages are limited total people at a time and should be booked one day in advance. 400bath for 1 hour Thai massage (+ 70 in taxes etc) - and they're GOOD, they don't break all your bones, as some Thai massages do.All in all, really great place! We loved it! Only suggestion would be a hotel policy/rule on Bluetooth speakers!
From the moment we arrived we were created by Nee and a welcome drink, she showed us to our upgraded room which was spacious, brand new and had a great balcony with stunning views. The beach was lovely quiet and great to stroll along and watch the sunset. Breakfast and dinner were delicious with Nee, Aof and Rung very attentive. The pools were lovely and the trip arranged to see the dugongs and snorkelling a real highlight. As Nee waved us goodbye we knew we would return.
