I chose the Double Tree because of past experiences. It appears this hotel was built 30 years ago and that's it. The restaurant on site is in desperate need of updating. Half of the decorative light bulbs were burnt out. They still have warm chocolate chip cookies upon arrival. After that it's a tremendous disappointment.
The indoor/outdoor pool is cool and staff was nice. Everything went smooth and the bed was comfy!
They had a room available and let us check in 2 hours early
excellent property great stay, two days without a problem staff was on top of it!
Carpet needs to be replaced and new paint. The bar And restaurant also needs to be updated.
stayed here four years ago and was glad to return. still a great place to stay.
The entire staff- front desk, housekeeping, dining room, were super friendly and helpful.
I arrived late in the evening (after 9 PM) I could smell the pool but never ventured to find it. I was in a disabled room, even though I am not disabled- booked last minute online in fast search and showed this was last room available. IF I WAS DISABLED I would have been really bummed out. The cleanliness of the room was NOT up to what I would expect for a Hilton hotel. There was still trash in the trash can and urine on edge of toilet! The room also showed areas of rough wear/ damage.
Good staff, good clean rooms, what you'd expect from a double tree hotel. The room rate was no more expensive than the lesser quality hotels across the street.
Helpful staff. Reserved the room on line and there was an issue with the billing. The staff and Mgr went out of their way to resolve the problem.
Good value for this hotel. Perfectly nice, but only stayed this far out from Knoxville since hotels were booked or expensive due to the TN football game. Would prefer to stay closer to Knoxville, but the drive isn't bad and we were happy with the value and quality of the rooms. Close to a number of state parks. Bar in the hotel has good food. The hotel seemed to be having trouble getting the room keys to work, but other than that we had no complaints.
The stay was good, AC unit was load but they fixed it after the first night, I never said anything about it. Nice hotel, Clean
The hotel is clean and the rooms are nice. Would definitely stay here again.
I recently stayed here for a writing conference, but booked after the "block rate" deadline. Surprisingly, I got a better-than-conference-rate on my first two nights (I later decided to stay a third night and paid $3 more than the conference rate for it.) I was impressed that the hotel still had a vending machine (so many now don't) and that the highest priced items in it were $1 each -- for a 12 oz. can of soda OR a full-sized candy bar. The rooms were spacious and inviting. The bed was extremely comfortable. The only thing "wrong" with my room was that the TV remote needed batteries the first night. I was able to be where the action of the conference was, impressed with the facilities, and able to relax between sessions and without driving to another hotel after the day's events. I will DEFINITELY stay again!
Everything about the room was great EXCEPT the toilet continuously made noise throughout the night about every 15 minutes. While the bed was comfortable the night's sleep was miserable which made for a very long day at the seminar I was attending. Would recommend but would tell if anything making noise in room to call desk immediately and not assume it was coming from next door rooms.
Close to rowing venue, restaurants, a well furnished and clean room at competitive prices
Very near the Oak Ridge Sportsman Association. The best place to stay if you are attending the Regional Highpower Rifle Shooting Championship.
This was a very nice place to stay. As the first of many future business stays at this location, I am looking forward to coming back.
