Have stayed here twice. No problems. Noted bar was not open Friday this time.

The staff was friendly and very helpful .Very pleasant stay .

Our room was on the second floor and the elevator wasn't working. We didn't have a lot of bags so it wasn't a big deal, but it would have been nice to know this when asked which floor we wanted to be on. But the room was great - spacious and quiet. The shower was a bit odd. It's the new look with a partial glass wall and you need to be in the shower to turn on and adjust the water temp.

We just had an over nite, but, were pleased by the interior and food in restaurant. Must say, being of first generation Italian decent, the Chicken Milanese was great! Couldn't believe getting such fare in upstate NY! The French silk cake was excellent. Unreal! Overall very nice hotel, clean. The bathroom could use some updating and a traffic light would be needed at entry/exit. Very nice!

great stay great price good location to sky resort

Hotel is ok. it is good for visiting minewaska and mohonk .

Our stay was wonderful and comfortable! I grew up in Kingston ny and was worried about starting at a hotel in my home area. This hotel is in the process of being renovated but we were not inconvenienced by this.

Overall, decent room. complaints are that the tv was fuzzy, air conditioner did not work properly, and noisy from renovations. pluses are the breakfast was varied and staff are nice.

The location was great for the event we were attending. Right off the NY thruway exit. The hotel was recently purchased and undergoing a major renovation, which is a good thing! However, that was not mentioned in the hotel info prior to booking. Everything is old and very worn out and the smoke smell is impossible to remove with just cleaning. It is also pet-friendly. I love pets, but not when it's a large barking dog in the room next to me! Justifying the cost of this hotel is very difficult. Perhaps it will be a 3 star after remodel, but definitely only a 2 in its current state.

This hotel was great. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it is a NON-SMOKING facility. I did not know that when booking. There are renovations going on but it wasn't a problem. The complimentary breakfast was very nice, with the exception of the bagels (I'm from Long Island so maybe the bagels are fine). The place was very clean. Watch the outlets though. I stayed with a master electrician and he noticed right away that some of the outlets aren't safe. The pool looked clean but was closed by the time we checked in (10 pm). The beds were comfortable and the shower was nice. No problems with hot water. The only reason I won't stay here again is ONLY because of the NO SMOKING.

This hotel was promoted as 3-stars but deserved two at best. It was undergoing a major remodel and very torn up from the lobby and adjacent hallways to the dining area and common spaces. The room was very ordinary and outdated. The flowers in the pots outside had died 5 months ago and never been cleaned up. This needs some serious work to get 3-stars!

The building was shabby including hallways, room, furnishings, bedding, and bathroom, et al. The staff at checkin was fine, but the staff at checkout was very anxious because he had more than one person to contend with. The bathroom was unclean including shower walls, vanity, and toilet. I closed my eyes in the shower, and while brushing my teeth. The two beds were made up well, but again shabbily. Overall, my experience was poor.

at 200 dollars a night, one might expect something quite a bit better than this hotel. though close to the wedding we were attending, it had nothing else going for it. paper thin walls, dirty carpets and construction added to our overall dismay over our choice.

We drove up to the hotel and my heart just sank. It was in the middle of extensive remodeling which might be great for future guests but not me. Instead, we found everything to really be in place. The atrium courtyard was safe and the pool provided a lot of fun for the grandchildren. It was very hot this past weekend so we were happy to have some space to do things inside with them as they are very young. The staff was very helpful and we found the location to be good. It is quiet but near enough to everything and literally a skip away from the Thruway. It was not luxurious but it had everything a family needs.

As we drove up my heart sank. The motel is having extenisve remodeling so I was afraid what might be great for future sustomers was not going to be for us. I was mistaken. It was quite nice inside (there were some inconveniences but they did not effect our comfort) and provided lots of safe room for our very young grandchildren.

First off, the hotel listing didn't say that it's in the middle of a large renovation. The high rates in no way indicate the current condition of the hotel. Photos make it look like the rooms are spacious and updated, and neither is true. The room was small and cramped (2 double beds). The sink had cracks. It all looks like it needs updating. The room had no desk, unlike the photos. The towels were very thin. The "full", "hot" breakfast was scrambled eggs which had been sitting too long & were very dry, potatoes, 2 varieties of little boxes of cereal, one type of juice, and some grocery-store Hostess-type donuts, along with toast and English muffins. Of the 3 bananas we tried, all had large bad spots. Things were either dried out or stale to the point where my almost-teenaged son wouldn't eat. Hotel walls were paper thin, so you can hear everything happening in all rooms around you. The staff was nice and check-in was easy and the hotel is very close to the interstate. Overall, for the price, this was a huge disappointment, and far more like the budget hotels than a three-star establishment.

Holiday Inn in Kingston is an older full service hotel with the "Holidome" concept. There is a pool, hot tub, video game area and tables and chairs for people to enjoy. Remember the chlorine smell from those family vacations of yesteryear? Well the Holidome will take you right back. It has an excellent location of I-87 to the entrance of the Catskills. The rooms are great, new furniture and soft goods. The hallways could use work. The dinner is suprisingly much better than typical Holiday Inn fare. Try the sirloin! To conclude, its a great family hotel with a fabulous location.

this was a great place to stay, convenient to thruway and rhinebeck, very nice staff, clean an updated rooms. a great value.

Comfortable and easy to find off NY Thruway, but unremarkable. Bed and pillows were nice, and AC was quiet and well-controlled, but beyond that this hotel is decidedly average -- dressed up where it counts but dowdy around the edges. The fitness center barely qualifies for the name. The wireless Internet, while free, was weak and intermittent. Ice machines on two different floors were both out of order. There's little within walking distance that anyone would want to walk to. Staff was friendly and competent, but seemed like I was interrupting them when I checked in at 11PM. This hotel would be a great value at 30-50% off.

Picture your worst nightmares in a hotel stay and you've got the Holiday Inn Kingston. Dirty corridors with carpet warped and ready to trip you, unclean rooms, hairs on pillows, bugs crawling on the floor and spiders floating from the ceiling, unmentionables on toilets, leaky ceilings with a Chinese water torture drip, drip dripping onto the heating unit that either turns the room into an inferno or a deep freeze. The restaurant is filthy and despite being the only party for breakfast (a very expensive breakfast, I might add), the service was unbearably slow, completely botched and the food was horrible. Eggs poached hard as rocks, burned hash from a can, sausage in the veggie scramble??!!
