stayed 2 nights in july 2019 and the room was good size with comfortable beds and clean modern bathroom.breakfast was very good with continental and irish breakfast on offer.had dinner 1 night in hotel restaurant with good menu selection and good food.staff also very attentive.hotel carpark is small with space for about 20 cars so you might have to use public carparks at a charge.would definitely recommend this hotel.
Very good location. Room not ready by 3pm but this seems to be the norm at most city hotels during season. Making of rooms also done a bit late in the afternoon. We had a De-Lux room and this was a good size and the room had a safe. Our room was a long way from reception and we found a short-cut lift at the back of the passage leading is to the parking area. Parking is a bit of a challenge. The hotel does have a small parking area that works on a first come firs served basis. We mostly parked at the Tesco parking area clse to the Hotel. The Pub / Restaurant of the Hotel was nice and the food "do-able" We did not have breakfast at the Hotel.
The room was a lot smaller than most hotel rooms. To make matters worse, they put a big wooden luggage stand at the foot of one of the beds that we had to squeeze around to get in and out of the room. The room only had 2 towels in the bathroom and there were four of us. The kids ended up sharing a towel and my wife and I shared the other. I put both towels in the tub the next morning so they would give us new ones. When we returned to our room after it was serviced, I noticed they just took the dirty towels that were in the tub and hung them back up. Unacceptable! There was no A/C in the room and the room was extremely hot. The wifi wasn't working most of the time. When I went to check out they said I owed them for breakfast that was charged to the room. We never had breakfast at the hotel. Thankfully, they didn't make us pay. They have a car park but it's virtually inaccessible. We had to park few blocks away and carry our luggage through the crowded streets. The one good thing about the hotel is it's location in the town centre. It's right among all the pubs, restaurants, and shopping, if you're into that sort of thing. Although if I were to return to Killarney, I would prefer to stay in or around the National Park.
I recently attended a function upstairs in this hotel, the bar staff were friendly and efficient, our waitress marie was fantastic, the service and food quality was excellent. A very enjoyable experience. Looking forward to returning.
Stayed one night wanted to stay a second but they were fully booked. Great town and fabulous family friendly hotel with really accommodating stafff. The pub behind the hotel is REALLY noisy not a problem as were went there but for family you should ask for a toad facing room
Now I'm not naive, i know this is. Crazy weekend for staff but respect goes a long way and so does customer service. Checked in. Explained our 4th stay here. Off to the room. When i say room i mean a box cause it's was ridiculously tint. Even opening the main door hit the bedside locker. No where to park as their car park is so small hold about 8 maybe 10 Nd even if i wanted there is a dip that prevents my van from going in to it. Our room: u believably small and unbelievably small and uncomfortable. No fans so i asked (to be told 111 room 10 fans most broken) as after 10 mins in the room our weekend supply of food had melted REMINDER This is our 4th year here and yes it's a busy weekend but 59euro A night raised to 159 A night?really? Did u see our room? His bike had to sit n the bath because it wouldn't go anywhere else. The root for on the bathroom doors nearly 2" up..disgusting. Keep n mind that money is board only. We'll we didn't even get thAt geAt was so bad we had to leave the window open which was over a beer garden with celebrations long on till 5am. Anyone who walked past our room hit the wall in some shape. People running up and down the halls. Staff did NOT care Our walls were vibrating between them and the quests and the music. No breakfast included So sat in had breakfast Normal 2 full Irish (not served with toast that wasn extra FYI 3 slices of toAst 1 slice of bread. NO TEA OF COFFEE all extra. Glass of water...u guessed it extra. Food was ok not bad no good. 15 minutes getting the attention of a waiter who cleaning had much more impressing thing to do like stare out the door. When checking out i waited to be asked about my stay but they didn't care just took the key and walked away was so rude. Even the TV doesn't work properly it's so old take 5 minutes to come on and quality is crap. Restaurant after sending bread back for toast didn't come near us again till the bill still didn't ask. No advice no help nothing to strangers. Needless to say this is our last every Stay here we were so excited leaving home which quickly turner to can't wait to go home I am SO DISAPPOINTED
We were in the hotel the night of the 29th of June, there was a small fire in a storage room in the hotel. We were in the bar at the time as we were part of a group. The staff quickly evacuated us onto the street, yes there was a bit of commotion for an hour or two but in all fairness to the hotel at This hour of the night there was only a skeleton staff on so they did their best in the commotion. We got back to our rooms about 4.30/5am which wasn’t the end of the world. Made breakfast and all the following morning. In all a great location, perfect for our group booking, and the bar food was very good also. Positive considering the small fire.
We stayed for three nights on an organised coach holiday. It has an excellent central location with the main street 50m away. The food was lovely, the staff and waitresses were extremely welcoming and friendly and the Danny Mann pub (which forms part of the hotel) offered fantastic entertainment every night. The room was a little tired and if it had been better we would have given it five stars. The dining room on the first floor was lovely with plenty of choice at breakfast, and the evening meals were tasty and well presented. Mark Balmer, the assistant manager, gave us a real Irish welcome and the hotel is a credit to you. We would certainly recommend this hotel and would willing go back again.
Hi I just wanted to share my positive experience at Eviston Hotel in Killarney. I stayed for two nights and had luck or misfortune to be in hotel when was on fire. I want to complement the staff for gettin everyone out. The staff worked hard and was well handled by the night maneger and bar staff. the staff was friendy and helpfull. I think the most important thing is that all of us after everything what happend are safe and sound. I will come back for sure.
This place is awful once you venture upstairs. Dark, dingy rooms with no air-con or even a bottle of water in the room. Corridors stank of sewage. Very noisey hotel with people up all night banging around. Do not go here if you like to sleep. Most of the staff were very unfriendly and not very helpful. There was a fire on the Saturday night about 1.30am. Nobody had a clue as to what was happening, none of the staff were to be seen. Luckily I was told by my friend that it was an actual fire and we had to leave. The alarm kept going on and off so nobody knew if it was real or not. We were left on the streets for three hours with no information given to us. Some were ushered into a fastfood place across the road which was packed with aggressive drunks. People ended up sleeping on the stairs and floor in the chipper or the vomit filled streets outside. At about 4.45am we were let back in to our smoke filled rooms which were awful. All our clothes and everything else in the room stank of smoke. Trying to get back to sleep was again impossible as the noise from the room above me was unbearable mixed with the smoke damaged rooms. I lay awake for the rest of the night wishing to leave this place as quickly as possible. So disappointed. The staff the next day were rude and refused to give a refund. All their response was it was not their fault ( even though it was in their storeroom). They claim not to know how the fire was started. Possibly should have security cameras to check. This shows a serious lack of safety in the hotel. The worst place i've ever stayed. Claims to be a 3star!! Some joke. They won't even take any responsibility on the matter either. Hell in a Hotel
