The staff here was very nice, and the accomodations were satisfactory. However we had two problems. Although there were several wi-fi options all of them were not working properly. We use Google maps, and download a new map each day. Google maps would frequently indicate that we had an ineffective network connection to download the map, although our cellphone was showed connection to the internet. Perhpas the router being used was weak. The second problem was that the selection of TV c hannels was quite limited. During our stay in Ireland, other hotels had TV access to English chanels, which had evening programs (after 9 PM) which were entertaining. English detective dramas (Miss. Marple or Poiret etc.). Those travels who don't want late evenings may want a bit of good TV after returning from supper.
This place is just great. Everyone was so friendly and helpful to us. It is a moderate walk to all the restaurant and pub areas. Also easy access to Ring of Kerry and other sights in the area. Breakfast was excellent as were the beds
We booked a room for two nights, but wished it could have been a longer stay. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel is beautifully appointed. Our room was enormous with a full sitting area and two tvs - one for watching in bed, the other from the sitting area. The bed was a four-poster and very comfortable. The bathroom featured side by side sinks, a jet tub, and a shower stall. Breakfast was large and varied. We would definitely book here again.
Stayed here while on a tour, and we all loved it. Interesting décor, friendly staff, especially for breakfasts which was delicious. It was a buffet but also included about 5 choices that could be cooked a la carte. It is about a 15 minute walk to high Street for all shopping, restaurants, traditional music in pubs. This was handy as hotel does not provide suppers. There is a selfserve laundry room. Would happily stay here again. Sonye
We booked two rooms for one night unexpectedly. The rooms were large, clean, quiet and well furnished. The breakfast was amazing. Not only all the standard buffet foods, but a half dozen choices made to order. It’s walking distance to downtown, with off street parking. Highly recommended!
Very nice stay. Wonderful people. Great breakfast. Excellent dinners. Social room worked well. Five minute walk from center of town. Socially acceptable residence. Comfortable bed. Great shower. Double sinks. Windows opened to a courtyard. Elevator. Beer, wine, liquor available upon request.
What a value! A quiet place tucked 5 minutes from the center of town, moderately priced. A large English breakfast starts your day served by smiling pleasant staff. Our room was large with a wonderful mattress. I was near the window and loved having it opened part of the day. Staying here gives you a quiet nights sleep. Classic and homey place. No gleaming sterile lines here. The first floor meeting room is a bit funky, but it’s fine. Especially considering the inexpensive price. There’s even a pay laundry on the premises.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Earls Court House. We were pleasantly surprised to find that on arrival we had been upgraded to a suite with a four poster bed. The bed was so comfortable that we slept very well here. Breakfast was cooked to order and the full Irish is recommended. The staff were wonderful and went out of their way to help, special mention must go to Joanna in reception who helped us solve a non hotel related problem. We would thoroughly recommend this accommodation.
Stayed at Earls Court House Hotel last week for 3 nights and we were delighted with it from start to finish. At a time when hotels in Killarney and other places are almost unaffordable, (some totally over priced) this one isn't. It does what they say on there website "When choosing Earls Court from other hotels in Killatney, you are assured quality, value and friendly helpful staff in a quiet and peaceful setting at a reasonable budget, This hotel is family run and owner managed which is not the norm with the bigger less personal hotels who are only interested in filling rooms - that's not the way here, you get better attention to detail - they live upto their statement, it ticks a lot of the boxes, mainly its affordability, the period type decor and furnishings is superb, bedrooms/ensuite spacious and above 4 star level. Each day your room is cleaned to the freshness of arrival. Lounge area is relaxing, breakfast food is freshly cooked to order, complemented with a wide ranging buffet, and most importantly the staff in all areas are cordial and friendly. To mention but some, from Joanna at front desc who we met on arrival and other days (though sometimes in disguise with her hair down), Emer and the Bulgarian waiter all had time to chat and make your stay welcoming. To describe our stay, it was like been in the palatial palace - a boutique hotel with character, sublime, quaint and cozy with tons of room. it's a place that provides comfort and relaxation within the classical decor of the rooms and suites of the hotel. This house hotel is a bit of Kerry/Killarney magic on the majestic Wild Atlantic Way, awaiting your arrival. Nearby you can see the mountains and the lush foliage of Killarney Park. There is something about this place to "draw you back", a hotel that has quality which you only miss when it's gone. We had an excellent time in opulent surroundings. Queen Victoria once said on leaving Killarney "I am very sorry to leave I have had an extremely pleasant time." I reckon if she had been in Earls Court House Hotel she would NOT have left at all. Queen Victoria would have liked it !!!!!!!! For a hotel with an ethos of "friendliness" (even the lift speaks to you) you don't need to win the Lotto to stay here and experience this delightful Boutique House Hotel, but you feel like you have won the Lotto when you stay here. Much of this is down to Joanna and staff that we met while here - we left in the mode of "wanting to stay again next time"- Full marks to Joanna and The Earls Court Hotel, here they have "Got the Balance Right"
Although we only stayed for one night I would definitely book the Earls Court House again if we were travelling back to Killarney. Great location only about 8 to 10 minute walk from town, lots of garages/shops along the way and really well lit for the darker evenings. If you are looking for an ultra modern hotel then this place isn't for you, but if you are looking for old style elegance with lovely furnishings and a super comfortable bed then this is the Hotel you are looking for. Room was lovely and well laid out. We got Breakfast to the room in the morning and couldn't fault it - everything was tasty and fresh. It was the little touches that made it for us like the local voice of the guy in the lift, the tapestry's lining the corridor walls to name a few. Great find and well worth the stay.
