This second floor two bedroom oceanfront condo at the Kihei Surfside Resort is located on the mauka (mountain) end of the building. It has great ocean views from the kitchen, living room, dining area, master bedroom and lanai. The unit is tiled throughout.
The unit has free, wireless high speed internet and free long distance calling to the United States and Canada. It is also equipped with a state of the art Oracode door lock, whereby each guest is issued a unique code which controls the door only during their stay.
This end unit is conveniently located adjacent to the less used east parking lot, and is one easy flight of stairs from the parking.
The fully equipped kitchen has large windows in the kitchen through which there is a view to the east of Haleakala, or the East Maui Volcano (tallest peak 10.023 feet) which forms more than 75% of the Hawaiian Island of Maui. It is fully equipped with granite counters, natural wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances including a flat top 4 burner stove, oven and side by side refrigerator/freezer with ice/water, dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposer and a variety of small appliances including coffee makers (both drip and PODs), coffee grinder, four slice toaster, blender, rice maker and hand mixer.
This condo is fully equipped with fresh linens and towels, hair dryer, iron/ironing board. All units have beach towels and a cooler. Umbrellas and snorkel gear are not supplied, but are often left behind in the units by other guests – no guarantees. The Kihei Surfside office loans out beach chairs free of charge during regular business hours - Monday to Saturday. Office is closed Sundays and Holidays.
The living room has a sofa bed with upgraded 8" mattress. There is a LCD HD TV with HD cable box and multi speed ceiling fan.
The dining area has a table with seating for 6.
The large, private lanai has a patio table with four chairs and two matching armchairs - a spectacular place to enjoy your morning coffee or a romantic oceanfront dinner! Viewing of whales in season.
The master bedroom has a high quality king size bed with fresh linens. There is also a multi speed ceiling fan, 40" Smart flat screen LCD HD TV with DVR cable box. The closet has a digital security safe mounted inside. The master bedroom is located on the ocean side of the building from the full ocean view is great.
The bathrooms in this unit have been beautifully remodeled. The master bath has a tub/shower and the second bath has a full size walk in shower. Both have a maple vanity with granite countertop and elongated toilet. Japanese bidets recently installed in both bathrooms.
The guest bedroom has two twin-sized beds. With advance notice, the twins can be pushed together to form a king-sized bed. There is also a multi speed ceiling fan, Smart flat screen LCD HD TV.
The unit is fully equipped with washer/dryer, fresh linen and towels, iron/ironing board, hairdryers and beach gear that includes cooler and beach towels.
Relative to other properties in the south Kihei/Wailea district, this unit is a great value alternative for a family (maximum occupancy 6) or two couples to enjoy the spectacular oceanfront location of the Kihei Surfside.

Fabulous location
We loved staying here. Keawakapu beach is just around the corner to the south, and there is a nice walking path to the north to a boat ramp and other beaches (and sometimes sleeping sea turtles if you’re lucky!). Gorgeous sunsets from the huge grassy park area.The unit was very nicely equipped and the beds were surprisingly comfortable! Beach chairs and sand toys from the front desk were a nice surprise and very handy. We would absolutely stay here again!

The perfect family getaway!
We have been coming to Kihei Surfside for many years and unfortunately our go to was booked. But Larry's apartment was the perfect substitution for our regular accomodations. The kitchen was fully stocked with gear to make family dinners, comfy beds, and even in suite laundry. The communication was fast and reliable. We must say, the morning birds were loud and the occasional Axis deer calls were funny, but we would definitely stay there again.

Warning: this unit has no A/C! The temperature was around 86 degrees and we had a hard time cooling down enough to sleep comfortably. If you've not stayed in this location and weather before, beware, it's hot all night!
There were a few minor issues with the unit, e.g. a loose toilet seat, and some appliances were hard to use (who puts a microwave under the cooktop and a toaster oven on the countertop next to a regular toaster?!), but all in all this was a good place for our family of three. Our son is 6'4" and had some trouble fitting in the bed, but managed to curl up in the end.
You can't beat the location -- no crossing the road to go to the beach! Having the 808 General Store across the parking lot was also handy, very friendly service, good assortment of fresh food items. Plus next to it a little rental for snorkels, paddle boards etc., and a lady who organizes tours (all in the adjacent Mana Kai resort).
We also loved the property's lawn and pool, and the little trail from the lawn to the boat ramp just to the north.

The view from the lanai was perfect! Sunsets on the lawn were a daily must. Open windows on two sides of condo for that nice Hawaiian breeze. We thoroughly enjoyed this slice of paradise!

A lovely stay
We really enjoyed the apartment and it's in such a lovely complex.
The only issue we encountered was the building maintenance team have a setup just adjacent to the apartment and they often started some noisy works from between 8am & 9am. It made it a bit irritating trying to relax having a morning coffee on the balcony!
Otherwise, the apartment was great.

Prime location
Excellent spot with wonderful beach access a giant lawn/play space. Walk out to a great beach, or walk over to the boat ramp to go on a snorkel cruise. And there's quick access into Kihei for necessities. The unit is well laid out for a larger group--we had 3 staying but had another 4 friends over from a hotel for many meals. There's no AC, but we were fine with using the fans and windows
