Got to room and checked bed. Room had bedbugs, got refund and switched hotels.
we were advised by every local person we talked to not to stay there because of bedbugs cockroaches and drugs being delt in the hallways. we went by there it was not very well lit and looked dirty unfortunately we went and payed a premium for a last minute alternative . so i ended up paying for two rooms. Orbitz should be careful who they endorse or represent i have always been satisfied with orbitz until now.
No one was at front desk for check in and couldn't find them anywhere. They finally showed up after texting orbutz support. No ice machines, no guide for the tv. Toilet seat was taped together. Bed was comfy though and it was quiet cause there was not very many people staying here
Staff was friendly and helpful. Beautiful view.
The super 8 in Ketchikan Alaska was not worth the amount you paid to stay there. The facility had a dirty fish tank with no fish in the lobby. You had to wait up to 30 minutes to get helped at the front desk. On our second day, one of the cleaning guys stopped the elevator to ask the front desk clerk how many rooms needed to be cleaned and used profanity in front on my young child twice. Thayer the next day ask the housekeeper walked past us in the hall he was cussing under his breath. There was No air conditioning, and the box fan they did supply was so filthy we could not use it, so we went to open the window, however, there was no screen to keep bug and birds out of the room. On our second to last day I did Landry I unfortunately after using one of two washers I found the dryer I tried using did not work. So I tried the second dryer and that dryers did not work either. I went to the front desk, the clerk asked which one of the two dryers was not working. I told him both, and he said “oh, so now that one’s not working either?” I asked if they new one of the dryers was not working why had an “out of order” sign on it. I told him he needs to put an “out of order” sign on both of them now before more people are inconvenienced with wet clothes and a loss of money. I asked for the money that I spent on the dryer back and he satiated “I don’t have a key for the machines right now”. I was constantly put off until I just went to a local Landry mate to finally dry my clothes.
This is by far the absolute worst motel I’ve ever stayed in! Wyndham should take a hard look before attaching their corporate name to this facility! We had our guys there, total of five rooms and they got bed bugs, no room service after ten days, had to fumigate and change bedding ourselves! Staff starting with office manager don’t give a damn!! Their response is “we’re two star!” Well you’re not two star! I wouldn’t even give you -10
The room was filthy with sticky surfaces & dirty towels hanging on the bathroom door. While I was sleeping, the toilet broke in the middle of the night & flooded the room. Maintenance shut off the toilet & said someone would be back. After waiting an hour, I called the front desk & was informed that I could use the toilet two floors away (no room change & no cleanup). Skip to morning... the shower did not work and the distant toilet was filled with paper towels & unusable. When I spoke to the clerk & manager at checkout, I was offered a later checkout time or a slight discount on a future stay. THIS WAS THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE at a hotel in Ketchikan. I would never recommend this property.
Horrible horrible horrible, the crack head behind the counter and her brother would randomly disappear to go smoke meth and then she would come back and try to pull her pants over her own head. The room was awful, it looked like someone was murdered on lthe sheets they put on the bed
We were able to keep our fish frozen in their freezer.
Tired property. Room had one overhead light with a switch at entry door and one desk lamp. No light or switch near the bed. Lobby smelled like a stale brewery. Pillows quite lumpy. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Good location near restaurants, grocery.
Great location right on the edge of the water. Had a view of the boats from our room. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Close to lots of things to do and see and also on the bus route which is a great way to get around and see the town
Very disappointed with our one-night stay! Our room had a strong, musty smell, and had not been well cleaned, with hair on the bed. One of the window panes had a large crack which had been taped over. The TV did not work, and and the tap in the shower / bathtub was broken, with no water coming out at all. When we tried to phone reception it turned out the phone was dead too! We were exhausted so we did not take further action until the next morning. When we asked to be compensated, we were told that was impossible since we had booked through Orbitz rather than directly with the hotel. The man serving us, called Raj, then suggested we might have damaged the shower on purpose in order to get a refund! Very insulting. Will never stay here again.
We loved hearing the float planes takeoff and land! We are pilots and enjoyed this location based on the planes so much, what a great surprise. We appreciated the complimentary shuttle from the airport ferry to the hotel.
HOTEL HAD A HORRIBLE SMELL. i REQUESTED TO CHANGE ROOMS. THE GENTLEMAN AT THE FRONT DESK WHOM REFUSED TO GIVE ME HIS NAME WAS EXTREMELY RUDE. RAISING HIS VOICE AND THROWING OUR ROOM KEYS AT MYSELF AND A FELLOW COLLEAGUE. I WAS IN ALASKA FOR A WORK STAY. AND I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS UNPLEASANT HOTEL AGAIN!
The room was amazing....provided panoramic view of the very active waterway!! Very clean...great welcome at front desk and got us checked in early, since our flight arrived before check in time.
