Welcome to the modern cabin in the woods. #TheAveryHouse is located right outside of Kerrville and only about 20 minutes from Fredericksburg wineries. Get to the Guadalupe river in under 10 minutes. Camping, water sports, hiking, fishing, food and wine are all within a short drive from this 600 sq ft modern tiny home. Come unplug with the sounds of nature and room to stretch out on an oversized deck. Enjoy some quality time around the camp fire, and connect with those you love in this unique retreat.

Connect with friends and family around the solo stove fire pit under the magical ambiance of the warm glow string lights and the Texas starry nights. Enjoy the abundant wild life including birds of all kinds, axis and white tail deer, maybe even see an armadillo or two. Or, stay inside and cook a meal utilizing the well equipped kitchen. Sit in the upstairs loft desk and write the next best selling novel or devour that book you've been wanting to read. Or, you can just snuggle up on the sofa and watch your favorite movie. All 600 square feet of this tiny home are designed for you to unwind and enjoy the things you love most.

With a large stock of cleaning supplies and everyday essential items, the Avery House is always cleaned top to bottom and ever so thoroughly between each and every checkin and checkout with your safety/health top of mind.

Relaxing Retreat

This was the perfect hideaway for our weekend retreat away from the city. We enjoyed the quiet and natural sounds of bird singing in the morning. We loved seeing all the deer and the close proximity to downtown Kerrville. The home was clean, nicely decorated and perfect for a comfortable weekend! Check-in/out was a breeze.

Was a very nice place, but…

I only have a couple things to say… it is a lovely LITTLE house in a nice area that is fairly close to everything. However, I wish the images didn’t make the house look so big because it is so TINY. I really don’t know how you could sleep 6 people, with only one bathroom…. We had two people and were on top of each other… The upstairs bed is directly underneath the AC unit up there so whoever sleeps in that bed is blasted with air all night, the doors downstairs are sliding but when they are fully open it’s a bit difficult to shut them as there is nothing to grab onto… and the downstairs room gets hot at night if you close the door because there isn’t any air that is allowed to get in there; luckily the host provided a fan, so thankful for that! Also the shower head doesn’t put out much water, the pressure is fine, but the head itself puts out just enough water to get your head warm. Also, the entrance to the driveway could use a little grading, if I’m being picky.. leaving and coming it’s very hard not to hit the culvert, especially if you drive a bigger vehicle! Overall the host was extremely communicative and the stay was very good, the bed was EXTREMELY comfortable too, so that was a plus for me!

The Avery House

We went to Kerrville with the purpose of going to the empty cross. We lost our dad on December 29th and did a road trip for my mother. We went to James Avery on the grounds, saw beautiful birds, deer, had an amazing time around the fire. The house was exactly what we needed for the night. The location was perfect and the home was beautiful. We will be back during the summer time and stay here again.

We arrived at the Avery House to escape the every day hustle of living the city life. It was the perfect cozy space with comfy beds and quiet atmosphere. Clean and comfortable

My friend and I came to Kerrville to have a birthday celebration. We really enjoyed our stay. The house was as expected. The beds were clean and very comfortable, which is so nice. We were greeted by 3 deer when we arrived, just munching some grass. It is close to town, but also has a remote feel. Would stay there again!
