As long as you have the mind set that this is a budget motel you won't be disappointed. Motel is clean and rooms are large. Has an outdated feel with the matresses and bed spread. Breakfast consists of a box of donuts set out on a table. No elevator that we could see. Ok for an overnight stay on our way to Mt. Saint Helens.
We were in town to see Mt St Helens and to go hiking. Location was perfect since on day 1 we travelled the north side of the mt to Johnston Observatory and on day 2 we travelled the south road over to Windy RIdge. the main bedroom was quite large and very comfortable....except for the pillows, which I found to be too hard and too large. other than that it was great. the spa was perfect for 2. Lots of large towels. and the price was far below what we experience in the Seattle/Tacoma/Portland areas. I would definitely stay here again. Also very clean.
Easy access, nice room, easy in and out. Outdated but clean and comfortable. Ask for a room on the second floor for less traffic. Very close to the monument. Try the 49ers diner while you’re there - walking distance from the motel.
My husband and I decided to roadtrip from Seattle to Santa Cruz California for our summer vacation. We booked the first night and at nights in hotels, but left the middle up to the roll of the dice. We found this hotel in Castle Rock near Mt. St. Helens and booked online just an hour before arrival. The staff was amazingly helpful and nice. Our room was huge and comfortable. Definitely a place we would stay again if we came this way. We took advantage of the in room coffee pot but also the little espresso shop in the parking lot. Excellent coffees and I enjoyed my scone too.
I stayed for 6 nights at Timberland recently. The room was wonderfully warm and contained facilities such as coffee machine, microwave, and TV. It was a very spacious room with plenty of room to spread out. Key card provided worked efficiently unlike at other places where I've had to get it replaced.
The room was very basic and somewhat outdated - it would have been acceptable if being offered as a budget hotel, but not worth the $110+ rate for one night. One good feature was that it was pet friendly (for a fee).
We stayed here for two nights on our way south from Mt Rainier, and visited the Johnston Ridge Observatory and Mt St Helens for the day before heading off to Portland via Ape Cave. This was an excellent base and the room was nice and quiet. Breakfast was minimal but fine for the purpose. Several restaurants close by, we went to a Mexican restaurant and Burger King.
The room had everything we needed, we were on the north side of the building that looked out on a side street and it was very quiet. Close to two good restaurants and the continental breakfast was all that we needed. The coffee in the room was weak, but in the lobby it was good. We would definitely stay there again!
A rather unfriendly receptionist checked us in. The room had all the basics, however it smelled strongly of disinfectant. Good wifi and water pressure; coffee tasted like brown water. Acceptable until nightfall... We had the misfortune of getting a room that had not yet had the useless blinds replaced. ( I was told in the morning that replacing them was a work in progress). Some of the other rooms had.. curtains! If we ever stay here again ( only to hike in the Mt. St. Helens area) I would make very sure to get a room with curtains. Alas the AC was also super noisy.. Nearby castle Rock is tiny and quaint with a short river walk. Breakfast covers all the bases, with better coffee.
I booked a reservation through Expedia May 2018 for a specific night in July 2019. I received a confirmation number that everything went through ok. I received 2 emails and a call from Expedia 2 months later saying the hotel could not honor my reservation. I called the hotel last week and was told they would not have their rates until January 2019. I got off the phone today after seeing the date I booked for july 2019 are up $100.00 on Expedia. What? "Rates would not be available until January 2019". I called again and was told it was human error. My 100.00 reservation had been canceled and if I wanted to rebook it would now be 200.00. This is price gouging and I was lied to on the phone with phone call#1. It isn't human error, it is greed!!
