Comfort Inn Kelso - Longview

Could hear freeway, towels not restocked in pool, spoons not restocked at breakfast, boring breakfast, crappy coffee, bed hurt my back. I liked that it was close to Target and fast food though. Sad that that's the best thing I can say about it...

By a five star review I don't wish to suggest that this is some boutique hotel dressed in the clothes of an interstate motel, just that it does a good job for the price. Clean, quiet, convenient with a pool thrown in, all for $100 or so for a family of four. I'll give the breakfast the benefit of the doubt as a free extra, rather than judge it on its own terms, although I did enjoy making my own waffles.

The rooms are clean and large...the best part of the hotel is the staff...the guy at the desk was super helpful...the pool/spa area is perfect and breakfast was exceptional scrambled eggs special potatoes sausage links...make your own waffles put the usual muffins yogurt and cereal...if you do stay here try the Mexican restaurant next get 15% off with your room card

The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The breakfast (at around 7 AM) left lots to be desired: no orange or tomato juice; however they did have something that was little more than water instead. There was an empty container where the bacon/sausage should be (don't know which 'cause it was all gone)! Home fries were pretty much all gone as well. Plenty of scrambled eggs though....

Kelso is a decent place to stop after being on the road. The motel is located within easy walking distance of restaurants and adjacent to the mall and the movie theaters. Rooms are clean and fairly comfortable and no issues on that front. It comes with a hot breakfast of waffles and other items. There is a gym and pool facilities co-located together which is a little odd. Staff are pleasant and professional. A good one night stopover. Would return. Tip - rooms on west side are quieter as they don't face the Interstate.

Hated the long divider that made it hard to watch TV from the nice chair. Those Dividers are so useless! Just off freeway, about 2 miles to downtown. Otherwise pretty nice place. Close to several restaurants.

We stayed here for one night on the way to Mount Saint Helen's. The best I can report is that it was okay. The king sized bed was comfortable. Bathroom really, really small. Noisy AC, peeling wallpaper gave an impression of neglect. Breakfast was okay, standard fare. People were nice.

We have stayed here in the past only because there is not much in the area. I will never stay here again. We check in on a busy weekend (the STP bike ride), and the guy at the desk said he was short staffed and looked frazzled. He checked us in, I went up to the room and when I went to use the bathroom realized there was blood all over the toilet!!! I called down immediately to the front desk and the check-in guy comes up with some spray and a towel (but no gloves) to clean the toilet. He realizes it's bad and offers to move me to a new room. I said yes because if the housekeeping thinks this room is clean with a toilet like that, what else is dirty in here. We moved from a king bed room with a fridge to a full size bed with no fridge. Although this room didn't have blood on the toilet, it's not clean either. Like I didn't want to be barefoot at all in this room. I noticed later that the phone cord had tons of blood on it too. The next day when we checked out, I talked to the person at the desk and told them my experience. She did offer to take $20 off my bill which we appreciated but wish they would have compensated even more for how inconvenienced we were. I will NEVER stay here again, I and I think you should think twice about it too. If they think a clean room is one that has blood all over the toilet, what else aren't they cleaning?

We chose this hotel as it was close to the interstate and had a restaurant nearby that we could walk to. This Comfort Inn was a little older and the decor was a bit dated compared to other Comfort Inns that we have stayed in recently, but our room was clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable and there was a microwave and refrigerator in the room which we always appreciate. Wifi worked ok and was easy to access with no password required. We were offered 15% off at the Mexican restaurant next door, a nice gesture. After so many miles on the road that day, it was nice to be able to walk next door for dinner. The Mexican restaurant was ok, not great The margaritas were overpriced and tasted like they were made from a mix, not from scratch as they should be.

Yup, I realize it's summer and it's the I5 corridor, so things can be a little expensive, but well over $100 on a weeknight for a comfort inn seems like allot. That being said, the rooms are clean and comfortable, although the showerhead definitely needs a upgrade. Staff is friendly, pool area and breakfast are good, overall a decent call for a short visit. Also, even though it is right up against the freeway, and our room was on that side, we never heard any traffic noise.
