The Kauai Inn is both charming and elegant. I have now stayed here twice and I love it. The people are kind and gracious; the included breakfast is wonderful; and the atmosphere and location of the inn is stunning. I could sit all day just watching the amazing mountains behind the inn or watching the massive clouds move across the sky. So much beauty here and no hustle/bustle. This is a simple, clean, and special place where one can relax and take in the beauty of the location.

The staff is very nice! Taryn checked us in and we chatted with Leonard doing the garden work. Super nice folks work here but I didn’t get names.. love the cats & chickens too. Wish there were shades on the door windows because it was too bright for us. The A/C worked well but was kind of loud..our only suggestions - shades for the door windows & not so noisy A/C if possible.

The staff were helpful and friendly. It is possible to use their umbrella, beach chairs, towels and flip flops. The breakfast was ordinary. Wish they had some eggs or protein options. The bed was comfortable but the the room had a loud air conditioner. It is an old hotel that was not upgraded . Housekeeping was not consistent they skipped some days. The place has potential but needs upgrading

This is the oldest hotel on all the Hawaiian islands. The staff were friendly and informative. We will definitely go back.

Loved this hotel! If we ever come back to this island, we will stay at this hotel no doubt! Very clean, cool temp rooms, and friendly staff and can't forget about the sweet cats that chauffeured us around every time we left our room. Loved the atmosphere, the island music, live performers, movie under the stars, and access to borrow everything you need for a beach day. Towels, umbrella, snorkel gear, chairs, coolers, beach toys, boogie boards. Breakfast is more of a grab and go menu (bagels, muffins, cereal, fresh fruits) but still nice to have. Loved the location and enjoyed the more private drive through a jungle to get to the hotel.

The Best Surprise Stay!

I booked the Kauai Inn based on past very positive reviews. Our stay was at the end of a trip that included both staying with local friends and a week at a posh resort. Our expectations were not high...we just thought it would be a good, clean place to stay our last few days in Kauai...and that we would just sleep there and then have our adventures. Little did we know how incredibly DELIGHTED we would be! The staff was amazing - like sweet family! Over and above anything we could have imagined. Our stay included a live music night and an outdoor movie night. We loved every minute of our stay and will rebook next time we come to Kauai!

Great boutique style resort with retro vibes. Tranquil with clean, comfortable rooms. Live music a few nights a week and an outdoor movie on the weekend were great surprises. I would definitely stay here again!

Friendly and informative staff of the great restaurants right in Lihue. The pool was quite refreshing and relaxing. Breakfast was good with some fresh fruit, yogurt, and coffee. Our breakfast assistant was very handy with a soaker gun in order to keep the chickens from stealing your food. This Kauai where chickens run wild all over the island.

This place is pretty central to everything on the island. The bridge is out so it's a bit of an adventure to find. Just trust Google. It is a very quiet somewhat secluded area out of lahui. It's just like a dozen houses and this hotel. We really enjoyed it. There are nicer places maybe but we enjoyed the secluded more private feel.

Cute little hotel on a quiet street. Staff were very friendly and hotel grounds were beautifully maintained. Nice touches like pool towels and beach items to borrow and an outdoor movie night on saturdays.

Staff are very nice and super helpful and filled with Aloha. That said, the facilities themselves are very dated, my room had a wall mount AC with dirty water streaks running down the walls. The AC did not actually cool the room well and sounded like a freight train all night. Room as a whole also needed a coat of paint. Bed and linens were clean, but the room as a whole had some dust visible. Still uses key door locks, without a deadbolt or secondary lock to the handle. Property is fairly out of the way from dining or activities due to a bridge closure
