Hilton Garden Inn Houston West/Katy3.0 out of 5.0

I stay at a number of Hilton properties throughout the year. They all have comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, modern furniture, and allow for a nice workspace with plenty of outlets to plug in electronic devices. The one thing that set this Garden Inn apart was the staff and their willingness to go above and beyond regarding customers service. From the initial check in when the CS person suggested a room away from the highway which would be quieter, to the shuttle driver taking us to and picking us up at a restaurant and the airport to the breakfast attendant, to the check out process...it was the people who made the difference. Great service...thank you.
I had a gas leak and water heater breakdown in my home, and I had to relocate for a few days. I had stayed at the Katy, Texas location before and had a good experience, so I decided to return. I ended up extending my stay twice, and the hotel staff were extremely helpful in accommodating me. They were friendly and professional, and they were very attentive. I stayed in two different rooms, and both were very clean. Also, the breakfast was very good, and the breakfast area was clean and well-attended. I will definitely stay here again in the future.
Clean and tidy hotel, well located in Katy. The rooms are good as are the facilities. However the difference is made by the staff who are friendly, courteous and highly professional. Definitely recommended
My husband, 6 year old daughter, and I stayed at this property for a wedding on 1/18/18-1/21/18. Upon arrival, our safe was locked. On Friday morning, I asked maintenance to unlock it. It was unlocked, but not searched. When I went to put my laptop in the safe I discovered a small pink pouch inside. I pulled it out and set it on top of the safe until the next morning when I remembered it was there. When I unzipped the pouch I discovered Xanax pills and crystal meth inside. We immediately notified the front desk and they came to confiscate it, but failed to thoroughly check the safe, offer a refund, or offer to contact the manager. The next day as we were getting ready to check out, my husband took our items out of the safe, and discovered a sandwich Ziploc bag (it had been pushed all the way back out of site) full of crystal meth. I was extremely upset because my daughter was in the room and could have easily ingested what was in the pouch in the 24 hour time period that it was left out of the safe before we looked inside. Also, the people who the drugs belonged to could have come back at any time looking for them, putting us in extreme danger throughout the entirety of our stay. I asked to speak to the manager as we were checking out and was told that I could email him as he wouldn't be available until Monday. I sent a lengthy email detailing my concerns and have only had communication with the front desk staff and not the manager. I contacted Hilton customer service and was only refunded for two of the three nights after some discussion. I feel that this whole situation could have been handled much better. I will never set foot in this hotel again.
Return visit with family to visit friends in Katy. Convenient for I10/Katy/Katy Mills etc. Well appointed hotel. Rooms have all amenities and wifi. Good value breakfast. Very helpful staff. Gym. Outdoor pool. Etc
We were in Katy for a family wedding and stayed at the Garden Inn West. Wonderful service from the time we arrived until the moment we checked out. Good food, well groomed rooms. Great place to relax!
The staff did not inform our wedding party at Check In that there was NO HOT WATER! We would have left immediately and tried one of the six hotels nearby. This lasted for all 3 days of our stay. No offer from the staff at checkout for any reduction in price. No sorry about that. No reduction in bill. Terrible service.
Over all decent stay. No decent restaurants within walking distance but the hotel food is decent; same menu as all the other HGI’s. Drinks overpriced as usual ($10 for a shot of TX whiskey) but that is something I expect. Property is a older than some but decently maintained. My room had dirt stains on the wall. Night audit didn’t check my ID at check in so I would have security concerns re booking at this property. If they don’t check IDs for check in I can’t imagine they check id’s for lost keys or pay enough attention to detail during the check in process to give me conifidence that someone else is going to walk in my room unannounced. The bed was decent but nothing special.
Very loud and the bed needed to be replaced. Wouldn’t stay there again. After staying in bunk houses for weeks this was suppose to be a peaceful overnight. Complete waste of money. I should have stayed elseware
After driving long hours, all I wanted was to check-in and hit the bed. But when I got there and got my key to my assigned room, it smelled like mold (Although the bed, broadsheets, bathroom, and floors were clean...(not the carpet area)) there was a smell of an old humid & foggy room. I complained about it, but the clerk said they were all booked, so he couldn't move me to a better room. The following day, my wife ended up going to the emergency room due to an asthma attack. I don't think I'll be staying there in a very, very long time.
