Shambaling is my choice of hotel whenever i visit Kathmandu, very impressed with the consistency in their quality of service and experience compared to my first visit and thereafter. Don't miss the excellent food served by the garden. Highly recommended

I stumbled upon this oasis of a boutique hotel and feel so blessed to have done so. I have never been so well accommodated or made so welcomed. Every member of staff... and I really do mean everyone... was attentive and kind. The room was quite spacious and appointed with anything one could want or need (even AC); every, every comfortable. And for those of us who love good food and food prepared well, please know that the chef and kitchen staff will not disappoint!! The menu options accommodate any palate and prepared with care. I loved every moment of my stay and was saddened when it came time to leave my Kathmandu home! Thank-you so much, Shambaling for making my Nepal trip a wonderful experience.

If feels great to return to Shambaling Hotel from busy and dusty streets of Kathmandu. It is truly a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city. Rooms are spacious and clean, staff is polite and always smiling, food is so good we didnt want to have dinners anywhere else. We have tried a massage at our own room and it was amazing! Although most foreigners stay at Thamel, I strongly recommend to book a room here at Boudha area. There are many shops around and the taxi ride to downtown is very easy.

The room was nice and clean with plenty of space for solo or couple. Complimentary bottle of water upon arrival. Modern toilet and shower. Exceptional courtyard with gorgeous mural and landscaping. Restaurant was also exceptional. Safe fruits and delicious meals.

I was staying in Shambaling hotel in while 3 days. Where are peaceful garden where uou can eat your breakfast or dinner or just relax and listel birds singing. Room was large, comfortable with nice lemon tree smell. Stuff very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for quite, peaceful place this hotel for you))

Everything was fantastic. I really enjoyed the open space bar in the evenings. Everyone was really helpful as well. The room was fine and everything was clean. I plan on staying here whenever I find myself in Kathmandu

This hotel took my breath away as soon as I entered it, there was a quiet peaceful calmness that it is hard to explain. The staff is very nice and greeted my friends and I with upmost respect when we arrived. The hotel room was very clean and quiet. The hotel is about 10 mins walking distance Boudhanath Stupa. The hotel also arranged for 2 cars to take us to see historical places in the city. There is also a nice restaurant in the hotel with great food. My friends and I were backpack travelers, so we really needed to do our laundry in the middle of our trip and this hotel also provided us with excellent laundry service. I liked when all my clothes came all folded and clean back from the laundry. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

I loved my stay here. The staff at Shambaling Hotel are the most courteous and kindhearted I have seen in Nepal. They are top notch hospitality professionals. The rooms are comfortable, includes a mini bar, refrigerator and even a singing bowl. The garden is beautiful and immediately puts one at ease. It’s an oasis of peace, quiet and pampering. Just a 10-minute walk from the Boudhanath stupa. Also only 15 minutes from the airport, Kopan Monastery, and the Shree Pashupathi temple.

We have been coming back to Shambaling Hotel over the last 6 years and each time it does not disappoint. With each visit, we always see improvements and most heartening to see familiar hotel staff who recognize us - the warmth and genuine hospitality of the staff truly makes the difference! The hotel is situated in the Boudha Stupa area (just 10 mins by foot) and Jigme (the GM) has painstakingly created a beautiful landscaping of avocado trees, potted plants and organic herb garden - it provides a much-needed tranquility and sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the main streets in Kathmandu! The hotel is just 20 mins away from the airport - if you do arrange for an airport pick-up by the hotel, it costs around Rs 1,200. The taxi fare from the hotel to Thames costs around Rs 500. The front office team also doubles up a concierge team - small team but very efficient and most importantly very warm and genuine hospitality. From helping us with Ncell SIM purchases, birthday cake, booking taxis to get around town - the front office team does it better and faster compared to some of the 5 star international hotels. Kudos to Gelbu Sherpa, Pema, Feroz, Manoj, Rajan Dangol and Nurbu-dai. It really does make us feel at home and very well taken care of. Rooms in the hotel are well-kept with top-notch cleanliness and well-maintained. We stayed at Room 107 as always (and the staff makes it a point to allocate the room to us each time we stay there). The restaurant deserves a mention - very well run by the staff - Ram Krishna Taman. Food is delicious and chef has demonstrated that he excels in other cuisines like Italian pasta and India dishes, beyond Nepali food. Definitely worth a stop even if you are not staying at the hotel. Hats-off to Jigme (GM) for her leadership - as many of her staff are long-timers with the hotel - it certainly makes a difference when we are greeted by familiar faces by Nurbu-dai and Gelbu at the entrance each time we visit. Needless to say, we will definitely be back at the Shambaling the next time we are in Kathmandu.

I had a pleasant stay at Shambaling again. It is very clean, quietand you I got hot shower any time of the day. The breackfast is good for me, there is variety of juices, fruit salad, youghurt, cereals, eggs, real bacon, breads etc. It is very relaxing to have breackfast in the nice garden. Staff is well trained and they are always polite and helpful. I will go back agian in November.
