Experience a truly distinctive side of Juneau at Precision Lodge. This spacious property combines comfortable accommodations with custom granite, natural stone, and three-dimensional artwork throughout the lodge. It can accommodate groups of up to 12 guests across three private units and two private rooms located within the main lodge.

The property includes:

Shangri-La: A one-bedroom apartment with a king bed, queen sleeper sofa, kitchenette, separate toilet room, granite wrap-around desk, large mirrors, and an in-unit washer and dryer.

Suite Rock: A one-bedroom apartment with a queen bed, comfortable living room, granite coffee table, full kitchen, and washer and dryer.

Biker's Bungalow: A small ground-floor studio with a full-sized bed and kitchenette featuring a microwave, toaster oven, and coffee maker.

Lucky Duck & Baked Alaska: Two private guest rooms with private bathrooms located within the main lodge.

Shangri-La, Suite Rock, Lucky Duck, and Baked Alaska are on the second level and require one set of stairs to reach the entrances. The accommodations are single-level once inside. Biker's Bungalow is located on the ground floor.

Each accommodation has private access, a TV with cable and streaming capabilities, and access to parking. Guests can also enjoy the property's hot tub. Fishing poles and bicycles may be available for use during your stay.

Precision Lodge is located in the Auke Bay/Back Loop area of Juneau, near the Tongass National Forest, Auke Lake, Auke Bay, and the Mendenhall Glacier. Local trails and fishing areas are within walking distance, while Statter Harbor is nearby for whale watching, kayaking, fishing, and other excursions.

Mendenhall Glacier: approximately 4.5 miles
University of Alaska: less than 1 mile
Downtown Juneau: approximately 12.5 miles

Self-check-in is available, making late arrivals convenient. Lockbox instructions will be provided a few days before arrival. Check-in is at 4 PM and check-out is at 11 AM. Early check-in and late check-out may be available for a $50 fee.

Johney lives and works on the property. He is available if assistance is needed and is happy to offer local recommendations while respecting guests' privacy. Kelli, the property manager, is also available by phone or message.

Pets are welcome upon approval. A pet fee of $30 per pet, per night applies. Please note that Expedia's booking system (or other affiliated channels) may not collect the pet fee at checkout. If you are traveling with a pet and the fee is not included in your reservation total, we will collect it separately after booking. By booking with a pet, you acknowledge and agree to this additional fee. For extended stays, please inquire about monthly pet rates. Pet fees help offset the additional cleaning and maintenance required to keep our pet-friendly properties clean and comfortable for all guests. Pets are not permitted in the shared main lodge.

A Lodge Built Around Art

Precision Lodge was created by owner Johney Engle, a craftsman and artist whose work centers around stone, design, and custom fabrication. Johney opened his stone fabrication business in 1985 and eventually incorporated his craftsmanship into the home and lodge.

Custom granite kitchens, stone walls, unusual rock formations, and three-dimensional artwork give the property its distinctive personality. Artwork by the late Skylar Engle is also displayed throughout the property.

If you appreciate creative spaces, craftsmanship, and places that feel different from a typical hotel or vacation rental, Precision Lodge offers an experience you won't find just anywhere.

Alaska Adventures

The property manager, Kelli, is part owner of Alaska Travel Adventures and offers Precision Lodge guests a 10% discount on eligible tours. Tours operate May through September in Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway, and Sitka and include whale watching, salmon bakes, river rafting, kayaking, canoeing, boat tours, hiking, gold panning, Mendenhall Glacier tours, jeep tours, and more. Please note that Precision Lodge is not a downtown property. It is located in the Auke Bay/Back Loop area, making it a better fit for guests who want access to outdoor recreation and a quieter local setting rather than a downtown location.
