We stayed at the Sheraton Pretoria for two nights in October. We had booked a promotion which provided Executive Lounge access, buffet breakfast and complimentary minibar. An additional two rooms were booked under this promotion for four others travelling with us. As it is probably an unusual promotion inclusion, the hotel could not find the reference to the complimentary mini-bar. Anticipating this, I emailed a screenshot of the promotion when booking directly, and the complimentary mini-bar was honoured for our room, as well as the other two. On check in, as SPG members, we were upgraded to the one bedroom Vice Presidential Suite, which was beautiful and spacious, with a balcony and fantastic view. As we checked in during the Happy Hour at the Executive Lounge, we went directly there. Surprisingly, there were very few people at the lounge. All other hotels we have stayed in with Executive Lounges are always packed during Happy Hours. However, we soon discovered why, as there was little food available, the liquor bottles were empty, as were the one bottle each of red and white wine. What hot food had been there was all gone. When we asked for more food and drinks, we were told that the Happy Hour was almost over - even though it was to continue for more than half an hour. The attendant said he would check with the kitchen, but could not say whether more food would be served. He took his time to get another bottle of wine, and, when asked, told us we were limited to one bottle of water. Some more hot canapés did arrive before the end of Happy Hour, but it was very little and was all gone within minutes. The second evening Happy Hour was only marginally better after we reported our experience. The breakfast buffet at the restaurant had a wide range of food available. Cappuccinos were included, as were made to order eggs. My dealings with front desk officer Justin Bhuda, who checked us in, were excellent. I reported our disappointment with the Executive Lounge offerings, and he witnessed the same and reported the problems to the appropriate departments. He also advised that we should have unlimited bottles of water from the Executive Lounge and had more bottles delivered to our suite. We have stayed in hotels all over the world with Executive Lounges. This hotel’s Executive Lounge Happy Hour was by far the worst, and is the reason why we gave this hotel a 4 star rating. It has been some time since we stayed at the Sheraton Pretoria, and we write this review in hope that there has been significant improvement to the Executive Lounge Happy Hour.

What an amazing hotel to stay in, our stay was a perfect one with help of restaurant manager for the days that my daughter couldn’t sit for breakfast they packed her breakfast packs with balanced healthy food, I would choose this hotel again should I visit Pretoria soon. All staff amazing and friendly

We visited the Sheraton this weekend and I must say that it was a pleasant experience. The reception staff were friendly. The feel of the room was not all that modern but it was comfortable. We had a good view of the union building. The dinner was great, hearty food. Breakfast was also good. I would definitely suggest the half board package because it’s certainly value for money. All in all we needed a break to relax and unwind and that’s what we got.

The hotel itself is stunning, boasting high ceilings; lighting suited for a production stage which casts a warm and dazzling tone throughout the entire hotel; to the incredible restaurant, entertainment, and other amenities. The rooms are spacious, well decorated, and you're bound to get a view of the fantastic union buildings. The staff are efficient and friendly, and your stay is sure to feel like a premium experience.

The hotel is ok in term of room and accommodation. However the service is ... well there is no service .. to find a waiter at the breakfast, it is impossible.if you want to have lunch be prepared to wait at least an hour to get a sandwich. For a SPG member, this clearly unacceptable and it’s unfortunately the worst hotel of the chain in term of service I have ever been. The location is not great but this is not the fault of the hotel that the surrounding are not safe.

Good location. Beautiful view of the union buildings. Beautiful room number 425. Warm welcome at reception. Good service from the porters. Parking R80 per night. Breakfast, although it’s a beautiful room the food buffet does not have a good variety. Good room service and they do special requests. There is a spa although I didn’t have time to try it. Lovely stay.

The staff is very attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. The room was large, the bed very comfortable, and looked out onto the Union Buildings. The pool area is beautiful with a view of the park and the Union Buildings. We thought the breakfast buffet was a bit high priced. We ate all of our meals in the hotel and the food was very good.

Stayed here for 3 nights on a business trip. Good hotel with nice, clean and spacious rooms, with all the amenities you would expect from a Sheraton. There was the added touch of a Nexpresso machine in the room. One of our rooms had very slow internet, the staff were more than obliging and worked on it diligently, even though it was not perfected, the dedication they showed more than made up for it! As we had a car it was easy to move around, I am not sure there are many places for a pedestrian here. They charge SAR 80 per night for parking, even if you are a guest. We ate in the hotel one night, service was slow, and the starter came after the main meal. All in all I would certainly stay here again.

Stayed at the Sheraton, Pretoria for three nights. Check in was a long tedious, process! Limited staff were on duty. There were tourist groups as well as other individuals, like myself checking in. Waited two hours before I got a room. I was eventually given a diplomatic suite to compensate for this. It was spacious and comfortable. The room had a view of the Union Buildings. It was a pleasant sight in the mornings and evenings. Breakfast and dinner was standard. There is nothing remarkable about the Sheraton. Service is slow. Staff require training as all guests are important.

After three years we had a pleasure to stay again in Sheraton Pretoria. This time we spent 7 days there and as before we have been treated as family by the hotel staff. Though everyone was incredibly professional, each staff member we encounter was warm and dedicated beyond expectations. Hotel is very elegant, quite and offering softy and luxury.
