Sheraton Pretoria Hotel

I have stayed in Sheraton Pretoria for 5 nights for business. The hotel location is good and its clean. But surprisingly, there was no hand soap during our stay and when i called the room service first day to complain they told me the hand soap is out of stock and it should be coming tomorrow which never did and they offered me a shower gel instead. The shower box was not sealed properly and everytime you take a shower the toilet floor is flooded with water.

The hotel was fabulous and located in a great location opposite the Union buildings. The room we had was plenty big enough for lay out 2 large suitcases. Everything worked well and there was a good supply of the basic toiletries. Staff were very polite and helpful although only the lovely lady with orange hair at reception was smiling and happy. Couldn't get a smile from most staff. Breakfasts were very good.

This is the good and bad side of big international chains. You do get a fairly consistent standard wherever you go but the downside is that once inside, you could be anywhere in the world. We were certainly well looked after at the Sheraton but there's little about the hotel to set the pulses racing. The main restaurant offering only a self service buffer for dinner is a negative feature. But it does basics pretty well.

This is my second stay here in 3 years. The rooms are good and the bed superb. A/c temperature in the room however was unchangeable and therefore I had a most uncomfortable 4 nights in a room that was too warm. I did have a fantastic view of the Capital (or Union Building) and park from my room. The service in the hotel is lukewarm and very impersonal, the food is also not great but freshly prepared.

This is the first time that I have stayed at this hotel. It is a very smart establishment, rooms are very pleasant, spacious and well appointed. The only problem is that the air conditioning systems does not work! This I realised after already spending the first night at the hotel. I reported this to reception and I asked for a different room. They responded by saying that they don't "just change rooms" and that I should wait for their "engineer" to come and check my room. After about half an hour the "engineer" arrived. His response was to check if I had tried adjusting the settings! What an insult! I am not an idiot and I have used air conditioning before! After a further half an hour, the "engineer" suggested to move me to a different room. This one also had non-functioning air conditioning. I was then moved to a 3rd room, which finally had air conditioning that worked to a small degree. My co league who was also staying at the hotel had functional air conditioning, but that changed after i received a room with functional air conditioning. This is dismal for such a "grand" hotel. Total waste! Rather book in with Stay Easy! At least they have air conditioning that works!

After a long flight it was great to be checked in promptly and shown to our beautiful room.Bed and pillows so comfy.Bathrooms big and roomy.Meals were truly nice and good choice of food and beverages.Service was terrific too.

Sheraton is a nce place to stay in Pretoria. comfortable hotel, helpful staff, parking possible free wifi and all amenities available on site i recommend it room are big and comfortable for a reasonable price, including generous breakfast

I stayed two nights here and the staff were amazing! They were so friendly and welcoming. You can tell everybody enjoys their job and genuinely wants to ensure you have a nice stay. After staying at many hotels around the world, this has been one of the best experiences I have had at a hotel in a long time. The views from the pool deck of the union buildings was beautiful. I will always stay here when I'm in Pretoria.

I felt vulnerable to check in. The street were full of demanding type of loiterers trying to get me to park outside. When ignored they become a bit aggressive. The hotel itself nice but definetely not 5 star!

Checking in service: A year ago I was given a fruit juice when I arrived and a towel to wipe my hands while I checked in. Last week's visit did not have either of these nice touches to make me feel welcome after a late flight and then drive to Pretoria. My room in the Classic King Size room was clean and comfortable. No free wifi was available in my room. Corridors were shabby. Lifts were being attended to the next morning and I had to use a service lift down to the kitchen area and walk along a service passage and through the diningroom to get to the entrance. All employees were friendly and courteous. Meals were excellent.
