This was an exceptional stay. The people greeted us and went above and beyond to ensure we were welcomed and had everything we need. The property was also so lovely with cool artwork and vibey decor throughout. Truly an exceptional stay. The restaurant is genuinely lovely and clearly the highlight of the property. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience doesn’t live up to it. The room I stayed in was spacious, but it felt damp, which affected comfort throughout the stay. More concerning is the state of the outdoor areas — they are in clear neglect and give the impression that maintenance has been deferred for quite some time. With proper upkeep, especially outside, this place could be much better. As it stands, it feels uneven: strong food offering, but accommodation and common areas let it down.

Amazing stylish hotel, wonderful staff

The hotel is very comfortable and welcoming, beautifully designed with very stylish and chic surroundings. The views are wonderful, totally unexpected from a city hotel. It's quiet and safe. Explore the whole place, it's built on a hillside with a pool at the bottom and rooms on many levels. Comfy big beds, great art and the food is lovely too. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to be there when artworks from a local gallery were being displayed, great idea.

I love this place, we have stayed in a few hotels in berg over the years but this one is our fav because its so chill, arty and loving. It feels like youre in a nature reserve at the top of the hill in the greenery. It feels like they really support local artists as the art is amazing and you can also buy in the reception. The food and bar selection is always delicious - wood fire T bones, wood fire prawns etc. We know about this place as our local friends always come here for the Pizzas as a group meet. We prefer the bigger rooms like the loft as its like a home with a kitchen and the ceilings are super high. I would stay here over the Four Seasons for a more local art scene view of Jberg.

Lovely staff and a warm welcome with a great cocktail makes you want to come back. Our bed was super comfortable and with a great view including a weaver bird tending to his nest. It's certainly a unique space to experience something authenticly and lesser known about the Joburg Northern suburbs. It's unfortunate about the typical low water pressure and shower design, which is also way too small. It splashes all over the floor next to your only toilet. A geyser decided to trip just as we were ready to take a shower after a long tiring day and weren't in the mood to wait an hour for hot water. Inconveniently placed light switches, a crucial spotlight flickering and power sockets dating from 1940's without a place to sit down and blow your hair in front of a mirror may all be acceptable by South African standards, but to my Japanese partner unimaginable how that could pass.

A casa não oferece cozinha, mas o hotel tem um restaurante muito bom, com preços excelentes. O café da manhã é excelente! Eles oferecem um valor por pessoa, passando disse você paga a diferente. Para ser sincero, nos dias que ficamos lá, comemos muito e não foi preciso pagar nada, nunca atingimos o valor diário. Pelo que percebemos, a área é um pouco distante e perigosa. Como só andávamos de Uber, isso não foi um problema. O segurança do hotel muito atencioso e gentil, ficava sempre perto da gente. A casa contava com uma piscina, mas estava muito suja.
