Very nice lobby. very clean and spacious rooms. Gym is basic. 10-15 minute walk to Nelson Mandela Square but they offer and hourly shuttle. The square has many restaurants and shops. I'd recommend to anyone looking for a nice hotel in Sandton
The Holiday Inn Sandton is very well located in the centre of the business district and close to malls and shopping centres. The rooms are average and low on luxury. The staff is good but the response in any emergency situation is unempathetic. Overall the experience is very average. Stay only if you have no other option available.
Nice location upmarket . Excellent staff service. Courteous locals. The rooms are clean, simple, well aerated. The dinner area for breakfast and dinner is squeezed and you could run out of food if you go late. Otherwise a central location for Business/groups not family vacation.
A standard, comfortable hotel with some delusions of grandeur. The staff were perfectly pleasant and helpful, my room well-equipped and the breakfast very good. However, the dinning room is cavernous and lacking atmosphere, the much-vaunted Skye Bar closed, and the swimming pool space rather desolate. The hourly shuttle to Sandton Gautrain Station and Nelson Mandela Square was very useful.
Heart of Sandton close to Gautrain (hrly shuttle available). Clean rooms very friendly alert staff. Small sufficient. IHG members lounge neat clean limited snack selection. Construction site next door
We stayed for only one night .The room was big but the beds not so. What I did not like that they have that day in the week when the bar on the top is closed. Really !! It is a hotel, keep open the bar every day. The lobby is big, the breakfast was very good.Internet connection very good too. Well located but we did not need it.
I have now been returning to this hotel for about 2 years. Staff is very friendly and professional. The hotel is at a good location if travel by plane, the Speed trains stop close by. Uber will get you the last bit. Anyway, last night I had one of my best meals in Johannesburg. The hotel restaurant, offer basic but well cooked food. I had some Chicken livers Piri Piri, very tasty and spicy. Moved on tho a superb Sirloin steak, cooked to perfection with very crispy fries. ended the dinner with a classic Malva pudding. Simple but all was very good. I can recommend to stay in for dinner here. I'll be back soon.
My first time visit Joburg, chose this hotel because near to meeting place, Hilton Sandton, the room was comfortable and clean, comfy bed, the next door facing to construction building with noise, been asking them to change the room even pay extra but they running fully booked. We called to staff as got the problem with shower but no one fix it until we leave. The hotel provide free shuttle van to the mall every 1 hour.
Have previously put my family up in this hotel and it appeared to look good and reasonable, so i decided to have an extended stay here one the new year. Check in was swift and effortless and i was advised that the lounge was out of action so i could instead get two free soft drinks from the bar if i shows them a lounge card that was issued to me. Well someone forgot to tell the bar staff, as i was met with blank looks and even subjected to humiliation in front of other guests as the bar tender refused to serve me. I had to call on reception staff to resolve the issue and pointed out that it was not my responsibility to do so. Car parking was another farce, with issues to do with the machine not working and i was constantly asked to take the ticket to reception for validation, I refused as i anticipated at least 4 trips a day and did not think that i should have to keep going to reception to validate a ticket as a guest, especially when sometimes you had to wait uptown 10 minutes at reception. Ps: there are a number of other hotels closer to the centre that offer free parking. Oh and all the world clocks in the lobby are telling the wrong time!
I always stay at this hotel when in Jo'burg. It is ideally located 10mins walk from Sandton Mall and a short cab ride to the neighboring area of Rosebank. The rooms are comfortable, always clean and the service is excellent. I was surprised to see the front office remembered me! If you're planning on staying in the Sandton area, I would recommend the Holiday Inn without hesitation.
