The Space:
Oceanfront with direct beach access, this quaint seaside respite, built on Amelia Island in 1983, includes only nine spacious villas. Each unit is directly situated on sand and sea with a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, and a living room that opens to an oceanfront deck. A staircase connects each of the three floors, including the two spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms in Captain's House A3. A private boardwalk takes you to the beach, where you can explore and bask in the incredible views to your content. The condos of the Captain's House are a perfect place for quiet getaways, wonderful family gatherings, and vacations of all kinds. These are a premier Amelia Island vacation rental! Please note that you will have to take stairs to get to the property no elevator is on site.

All fresh linens and towels are provided for our guests. We also provide a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, dish washing soap, dish pods, and laundry detergent. Beach chairs, beach towels, and a beach umbrella are also provided for you to use during your stay.

We also ask all guests to complete a registration form with Amelia Island Vacations through the secure site of DocuSign.

Extremely relaxing location and the view of the ocean was spectacular! The unit is nicely furnished and included island information and board games for entertainment. The walk out to the beach was not far over the dunes especially for Amelia. This is a 3rd floor unit and there is no elevator. Didn't bother us but not for someone with mobility or health issues. Easy drive to the historic district and Fort Clinch. Amelia Island Vacations was fabulous.

What a great gem in Fernandina! The condo was clean, easy to access and had everything we needed for the weekend. Plenty of room for a family of six and the private beach access was priceless. The beds were comfy, even the pullout sofa. Lots of beach towels and toys and umbrellas to use. The patio balcony was an added bonus. Fernandina, what sweet little downtown. Be mindful there is stair only access, no elevator to the top floors for those with limited mobility. Thank you for sharing your place! Would definitely stay again!

The condo is exactly as it says online. I wish we were told before our stay. That they was working on the beach and it was closed off and they worked constantly day and night and the machines beeped 24/7. So sleeping was a very big problem. Plus, with this being a beach front condo and the only reason I wanted to stay here. Very poor communication on the property management.

Great location for a staycation

We spent a long weekend at this condo and loved it. Location on the beach with a top level view of the beach is perfect. Easy access to the beach if you don’t mind some stairs. Nice that they had a hose to rinse off your feet. Super clean. Can’t speak to kitchen supplies as we didn’t cook.

Nice location but Missing key items that were promised

The location was great and the beach access was good. It was also very clean when we arrived. However, there were things we paid for and expected that we didn’t get. And it was related to the beach - the whole reason we rented the place. On Wednesday we were excited to finally get to the beach - Unfortunately the “beach chairs” were all broken and rusted - job lot or dollar tree quality. unusable. We called management and asked for new ones but they never came (we left on Saturday). The umbrella was no where to be found. The Trex lounge chairs were nice but they had no pads - and were hard as a brick. 15 minutes and our backs were hurting. A bit more long term is that the decking really needs to be replaced - lots of splinters and cracked wood. I learned the hard way not to walk barefoot. That was extremely disappointing as it really impacted our ability to use the outside areas. A few other things - only 3 clothing hangers in the entire place - we mentioned to a management person on Monday - never showed up. Only one extra roll of toilet paper. The weatherstripping in the front door was ripped (no problem, right?) except one day it was extremely windy and a constant high pitched squeal came through - like a constantly boiling teapot. Finally jammed a towel in it.Basically, the place was nice but needs some attention.

Great location, beautiful place!

Highly recommend! We enjoyed a weekend get away for our little family wedding. We chose this rental due to its location being so close to main beach park where our beach wedding took place. I loved the beautiful condo overlooking the beach. Beach access was easy, the neighborhood was quite and fri3ndly. The balcony was the perfect place to watch the sunrise before the wedding.

2nd time and it’s still wonderful

This is our 2nd time renting this condo and it was just as lovely as the first time. Check-in and out are super easy, the condo is clean and comfy and the access to the beach is unparalleled. Down some stairs and out you go. Easy access to downtown restaurants and 2 nice clean bedrooms and bathrooms. Access to our Netflix account allowed us to have a little downtime each night making for a perfect getaway.

Beautiful in Every Way

Absolutely Wonderful Stay

This property was absolutely wonderful. The property managers had all the information to us so we could walk right in when arrived. They were a delight and extremely responsive. As we walked in the property was clean, warm and welcoming with beautiful views of the beach. The location is prefect, we were able to walk out the back door to shark teeth hunt and close to historic downtown Fernandina to shop or eat. Our first night the weather provided Gale force winds. While windy outside; inside was quite, peaceful and comfortable. We will utilize this property in the future for our trips to Fernandina Beach.

In Need of Repairs

The location of the property was amazing, however, the unit itself is in need of updates/repairs. The unit was not properly cleaned when we arrived (there were crumbs on the counter, couch and outside table), the front door needs new weather stripping - the wind was coming thru the door sounding like a freight train. The screen on the slider had a large tear in it so we couldn’t leave the slider open, there was no umbrella (as promised in the listing) however the property management company dropped one off the next day (couldn’t use it because of the wind and the umbrella was a bit flimsy). We used the electric broom it didn’t appear to be working so I turned it over to see if the bristles were spinning and everything in it blew out onto the floor (it was totally full). YouTube tv was included in the rental but we were not able to sign into it and called the management company but didn’t hear anything back. The lounge chairs on the deck needed cushions - very uncomfortable. Hopefully these issues are addressed for the next renters.
