Clean, nice spa, nice rooms and lobby. Someone stole my cosmetic bag from my luggage and not only they didn't find a solution but also we didn't have any refound of money... so a night of 80€ actually costs us 300€... wouldn't go again

Marriott Renaissance has decent-sized rooms featuring very nice traditional Turkish bath; those on the seventh floor have nice windows and sunlight but no spectacular views (stay at the Mövenpick or Swissôtel if you want water views). The rooms are quite comfortable and a two-night stay during Ramadan was very quiet and peaceful. The Rooftop Skyfire Bar was superb, with impeccable service featuring great views of the Aegean and Izmir. The extensive cocktail menu was terrific, and we really enjoyed smoking Cuban cigars while drinking mojitos. In fact the staff kindly brought us nice cut-glass ashtrays, and we stayed long enough to watch a spectacular sunset. You can buy cigars from the nice tobacco shop at the nearby Hilton (which by the way seems to be a stuffy hotel; we were pleased we didn't stay there). In contrast to Hilton this Marriott seems more cool and modern, and the furnishings have contemporary Turkish characteristics. The staff we encountered were all warm and hospitable. I did appreciate the nice welcome gift as an elite program member. As others noted this Marriott has some small minuses: you might as well forget the subterranean swimming pool; its tiny size makes it seem suitable for only small children (plus all the spa staff have you in full view which seems awkward). Others noted the lackluster Marriott-branded amenity products. The spa is relatively small for a Turkish hotel of this caliber, but it is certainly nice enough and sparkling clean. Finally, Marriott's computer system (room was booked directly via Marriott app) still attempted to charge this silver/gold member for 1 day of complimentary Internet use. Management of course immediately removed the charge, but Marriott corporate still needs to become more like SPG and less like a nickel-and-dime store. In any case, I can highly recommend this property as a fine choice in Izmir.

The hotel is perfectly located in Izmir. In walking distance of the waterfront and areas to walk and dine. Staff is wonderful and the breakfast is excellent. Free parking if one is driving in Turkey to go to Ephesus. A great place to go on day trips.

Best hotel in Izmir, by me. Everything is superb - very nice and modern design of interior, room big and fresh, staff very kind and helpfull, with smile on face all the time, breakfast with very good selection of everything. Top roof bar elegant. Spa very clean, big and fitness with well equipment. Everything is how it should be. Highly recommend.

The Hotel Staff are fantastic and genuine. "Actually " do care , not just lip service. The go out of their way to ensure you have an excellent stay and nothing is an issue to get done and with a personal touch. Rooms are nice , clean and spacious . Wide choice of TV channels. 8th Floor has the restaurant and bar with great view and ambience . Menu and breakfast very good and reasonable . I had steak that melted like butter .

For a quick break with my wife we decided to fly from Kuwait to visit for the first time the city of Izmir, in lovely Turkey (Excellent decision, loved the city). So I booked a joiner suite with club lounge access at Renaissance Izmir Hotel from 5-12/5/2017. Unfortunately, l had to check out on 7/5 and book another hotel for the rest of my stay in Izmir. The hotel was very nice and well presented, staff were very nice and did everything possible to make our stay so special. Reception staff were very professional, polite and efficient. "I wish to extend my thanks, sincere appreciation and gratitude to Mr. Mustafa and the duty manger for their efforts making my stay as pleasant as it should be.). Breakfast served on the 8th. floor were SKYFIRE restaurant is located. The food was good with a variety of good choices to make.. Overall my stay was very nice and had no complaints. However; I have two observations on this hotel. There was no partial sea view rooms as said... The hotel is Eight story tall and big buildings blocking the view (you still can see the sea water from a small opening space between buildings in front, Not much to see.!!). The club lounge is very bad to be honest.!! Located at the ground level to the left of the main entry door, they charge for the cold soft drinks and desert.! Coffee, Tea, nuts and candy are free.!! (Not a Marriott standards at all).. You know by now why I left this hotel.!!

Great location , friendly staff , nice room city view and excellent service . It's a business trip but really I am so happy in renaissance hotel Izmir I will come back soon to stay more . Many thanks .

Great location , helpfull staff, spacious and clean room and beautiful bathrooms. Close to everything. My mother , my friends ( who were stayed in same hotel at same time) were so happy with this hotel Please keep it in same way Thanks

The hotel is ideally located in easy walking distance of the Izmir sea front which is full of excellent restaurants The staff are very friendly and efficient, I was upgraded to a corner suit, fantastic room with plenty of space to relax and work also. The roof top bar is excellent with good atmosphere and a large selection of drinks and excellent food. Would recommend

Amazing, incredible, well maintained and in the city center hotel. All comforts are available. We have been there two times and the first time we were welcomed with a tea during the check-in process, it didn't happened the second time. The rooms are very large, complimentary tea and coffee however you have to bring the water. The hotel breakfast is continental, however the first time we found bacon which was not there the second time, something changed in the menu. All you can eat brunch is also in the schedule, drinks are not included. The hotel is also having a SPA, a swimming pool and a small gym. Service is courteous, there is no parking nearby but valet is always available. Hotel is secured with metal detectors and guard at the entrance which is giving a scaring first impact.
