Reality of the room is much different from web photos, which are misleading. This is a most a 2 star and never more.

Close to everything we wanted to see. Tram line right outside. Staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. room comfortable.will recommend to all our friends.

Excellent customer service. The staff were warm and hospitable, no regrets whatsoever. They made our stay in Istanbul a memorable one. Makes us want to go back again. See you next time.

Great location. The staff is very friendly and nice.

Being across from the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque or the Sultan Ahmet Camii as most Turks call it, and adjacent to the Cistern made the location of the Ambassador an excellent value. The roof top terrace restaurant also overlooked these beautiful sites with a wonderful view of the Bosphorus as well. A bonus of being so close to the water was getting to see seagulls up close perched on the terrace roof and they are huge birds. The front desk staff of Yildirim and Sinan accommodated us by providing an electric adapter for our US electronics, a bus/tram rechargeable card, and helped us confirm arrangements over the phone with various tour and shuttle services. The help with the phone calls was invaluable as it allowed for pin point instructions with times and locations and nothing was lost in translation as we didn't speak a word of Turkish and accents can be problematic. The backroom staff of Bayram (porter) and Sezgin (restaurant waitstaff) further made our trip pleasant with just enough conversation. The only drawback to the stay was the bathroom moisture extraction fan being inadequate and as a result it left an unpleasant moldy smell. An issue easily remedied by open windows in the warmer months, but we visited in the winter. It was a great value for the location and we will strongly consider The Ambassador on our next visit to Istanbul.

Great location, great staff, close to all attractions and shopping centers

It took us a while to find the hotel as it's hidden in a valley. However, it's at a great spot, at most 150 meters after you get off the tram station at Sultanahmet. You pass through a few cute restaurants and find your self in this hotel. The hotel is small, smaller than what you can see from the pictures. However, we were completely happy with our stay here. We booked a triple room and were actually given a room with 4 beds, which made up for the inconvenience that a smaller room could have given us. Our room was at the 5th floor, top floor, and right across from the dining room, which connects to the roof-top terrace. My husband does ink sketches as a hobby and this terrace was the perfect spot for him and other normal people's photo taking (like me :#). You get a beautiful view of the Blue Mosque and the Haghia Sophia. The morning breakfast to us, was very Turkish and we tried our best to taste everything, and we loved it. The nice kitchen lady made us omelet, and the Turkish melon was so sweet and mouth watering. One of the hotel manager grew up in the US then returned to Turkey, so he spoke very good English and was very nice to us. We stayed for one night at this hotel, went on a cruise the next day, and returned to Istanbul after 11 days. At that time, I found out that I needed to apply for Turkish visa again in order to disembark, but using the internet on the cruise ship was too inconvenient. So we came back to the hotel #since they are so close to the major attractions), and asked the managers where we could find an Internet Café with a computer and a printer. And they let us use the hotel's! Long story short, they gave us the one thing - convenience, wen we needed it the most, even when we were no longer staying at the hotel. So I'm giving the score of 5 to share the good experience, express my gratitude, and we will definitely stay there again!

I picked this hotel based on reviews online. The location is ideal, very helpful and hardworking staff. great view of the blue mosque from the terrace breakfast area. Wish the hotel rooms were bigger. Came to know that even the high priced hotel rooms are small. Some of the bathroom fixtures were old, wish there was more table space in the room to keep your things.

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your time to write your review. We are puzzeled regarding the pictures which do not look the same as on the website. Is it possible that you mixed the standard double rooms with the deluxe double room pictures. All our room pictures are exactly what the room looks like. We are very sorry if you have not been pleased with our hotel and wished wecould have found you an alternative hotel instead. Warm Regards, Your Ambassador Hotel Team
