At first, when we arrived at the hotel, we thought it might not be a good place. However, after speaking with the reception staff, they were extremely helpful and provided us with a very nice room. Their kindness and professionalism made it a truly positive experience.

The door only locks if you remove your hotel key from the slot. This means your lights, chargers, AC - all electricity must be off if you want to sleep with a locked door. This is ridiculous. They don't even have proper manners or even a bottle of water on them.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, close to everything

I stayed at this hotel for a month and enjoyed it. The hotel is nice, clean, and comfortable. The staff is very kind. Once I needed help scanning and printing a document for work, and the person at the front desk was able to assist me. The front desk people go out of their way to make sure you have a good stay and give great recommendations. The hotel has a lot of restaurants, cafes, markets, and shoppes along the street and is only 10-15 minutes walking from the Grand Bazaar, closer via taxi/ Uber. The food place on the corner is 24/7, which is wonderful if you’re a night person like me. Also, easy access to the trains and ferries to get to the other parts of Istanbul. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Istanbul!

Terrible motel like hotel. Do not go if you are expecting a smoke fee room. It smells like a dirty old motel. And the hallways and stairs are extremely dangerous- no light until you are half way down the dangerous no railed twirled stairs

Terrifying Lift Experience – Use at Your Own Risk

My stay at this hotel included a very frightening experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone. I got stuck in the tiny lift for 15–20 minutes. It barely fits one person and a suitcase, and there’s no ventilation. I wasn’t calling for help, just banging on the door, and thankfully it got stuck near reception so they could hear me. There is no backup generator, so when the electricity goes out, the lift simply stops working. I started to feel short of breath, and after I told them I couldn’t breathe properly, they eventually broke the door open to get me out. I was staying on the 5th floor and never used the lift again after that. Even during checkout, I left my suitcase in the lift and took the stairs myself because I couldn’t risk going through that again. They offer free breakfast at a nearby 2–3 star hotel, which was okay, but honestly, the fear from that experience has stayed with me. Cleanliness was average. They cleaned the room every other day with just a mop and a quick surface wipe. Rooms are very small and, in my opinion, not worth the price. If you choose to stay here, do NOT use the lift. It’s not safe.

I had a wonderful stay at Santefe Hotel in Istanbul! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The hotel has a warm and cozy atmosphere, making it feel like a true home away from home. The rooms were very clean, well-maintained, and comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. I especially appreciated the attention to detail in both the décor and the amenities. I would strongly recommend the Santefe Hotel. The value is unbeatable but it is also supported by N extremely friendly staff. The room is small but adequate for 2 people who spend most of their time outside visiting or sleeping. The baths are modern and big enough for 2 at the same time. They are many great restaurants and attractions around and it is only a $15 cab ride to almost anywhere. Book there and save your money for tours on the bay of Istanbul. I give the Santefe Hotel a 5 star rating without hesitation.

I had an amazing experience staying at this hotel during my visit to Istanbul. The location is absolutely perfect — nestled in a vibrant area full of life, charming restaurants, and cozy cafés, all beautifully lit up in the evenings. The atmosphere is truly magical, especially at night when the streets come alive with color and energy. The reception staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful from the moment I arrived. Amazing service team

It was very nice service from the receptionist CARIB or GARIB. He helped us checking in and get the room before check in hours as we reached earlier. Hotel room was nice and tidy . Enough towels were there and got room service when we asked for it. There was small issue in the toilet but this receptionist guy fixed it instantly. Later on our check out he came on the street to help us negotiate with TAXI as taxis are often do cheat there. Thank you so much
